I think we're going to buy a big name/money striker alongside Watkins this summer (I'd love Oshimen but reckon we'll get Solanke), so swapping Duran for Gallagher is good business

So I really like Duran, (he reminds me of balleteli) but the attitude and ego aren't something Emery would put up with for long( no player is bigger than the team to Emery). Gallagher I'd take in a heart beat, kamara and Gallagher double pivot/ or one to back up the other would be impressive. I have a sneaky suspicion that Luiz will go and Gallagher would help fill that gap with beuna another midfielder to come in with Luiz money. I'm convinced we will go for Jonathan david as ollie can't be our only quality striker next season with champs league and cups. Going to be a very interesting transfer window!

Do you think Ollie and Duran with Archer / Diaby as back up is enough? Or do we need to sign one more (I think we do) I agree I’d take him in a heart beat, what a player and leader he’s been for CFC this year! Does Barkley do the same for free though? Luiz may be gone I feel it too

@LetsTalkVilla I'd say we sign another striker even if Duran doesn't go. With champs league we can't be so reliant on watkins, burn out nearly cost us this season. So I expect abit more rotation as long as we can get better quality added to the squad depth.

Id take gallagher but think we could spend our money wiser for the funds we have available. But not at the cost of John Duran NO WAY! hes a killer! Need to get him more game time for sure! Comparing the stats with Ross Barkley for free? and Villas financial situation? Barkley while not the better player, seems to make more financial sense, giving us room to improve else where while still bulking the squad rotation.

Funny you say that (I know you’ve seen the Barkley video lol) I agree, I think this is worth a miss, despite Gallagher being such a fantastic player, I see 15-20 goals a season in Durans future and Barkleys current form is enough for me 🤝

Bad deal imho. We've already got loads of good midfielders, with some due to recover and come back from injury last season. Jhon Duran has the potential to be a top class forward in the next couple of seasons. Even if we sold him later on at that time when he was peaking, he'd likely bring in a FAR higher transfer fee than right now.

Some good points my friend! Welcome to the channel! Like I say in the video, I love Duran, something about his chaos makes me just feel like he could be the type of striker to suddenly bag 20-25 goals a season! We will see what happens!

It only makes sense if a potential striker signing is in the works for a fairer fee than we can find in any midfield targets (ie Guirassy with his £15.2m release clause whilst Baena is at market value). That's sense for the club but for me, still not massive on it. I feel like our game is more advanced than he can offer to play. I do feel like Durans ceiling could be higher. Haven't heard about Archer coming back. I can't quite believe it tbh. I was gutted to see him go but now it feels like We're past him. Oh and it's clinical in front of goal not critical. 😊

Hey bro! I’d love him, that release clause is mental for the season he has had right!!! I think we keep Duran, move Archer on (his move back is confirmed) and invest elsewhere. This summer is one of our most crucial to date, it’s going to be interesting 🧐

That goal he scored against us was a beaut, would do well in our side I reckon, in Unai we trust. Duran isn’t a Unai signing remember, as much as I rate him I think Unai prefers someone else

Completely agree. Based on talent, I’d like him to stay, but he sadly seems to have an attitude problem and also seems to have his sights set on a future away from Villa. Think he’ll be a future superstar. Madness on his part given our trajectory, but it seems to be the case nevertheless. If Duran saw his future at Villa, I’d keep him, but given the reports, I’d take that swap personally.

He's great but it's a no for me Durán has a high ceiling and it seems he sorted out his attitude problems from before. Plus we could get Ndidi or Barkley on a Bosman to cover the roles that he would be playing.

No to the deal if Chelsea sell Gallagher it would be cash only because they are close to FFP we could bring in Wilfred ndidi 26yrs old on a bosman to cover for kamara need to keep Duran if you were looking to buy a young striker Duran is the perfect fit his sealing is so high with development £70-80m player

Yea Ndidi for the Kamara role and Barkley for the Luiz role for me are above Gallagher in their respective roles and they're both on a Bosman

I agree with the options, but Chelsea would make that swap move if they could. Firstly Duran would be on Lower wages, which helps the books. He also feels like his ceiling is higher as a player but even if it's around the same he's a striker. He'd only need to be scoring 12 PL goals in a season to be worth more than Gallagher on the market. Ollie won't keep playing every minute of every game without injury. I'd rather keep Duran unless a striker signing is in the works before he goes.

It's a nonsense story, if Boehly sells Gallagher it's purely for the money so Chelsea can make ffp and psr. A swap deal doesn't help them with that !

Story just seems to be everywhere at the moment which makes me think there’s some truth to it, we would inevitably have to give money plus Duran, they get a striker for free and some money for Gallagher which is pure profit!
