I’m an Everton fan and I’m first with the banter but this is too much. Jokes about Hillsborough and Heysel are of very poor taste and luckily we didn’t have another disaster there yesterday. Rivalry aside, how in this modern age can a game of this magnitude, where the world is watching, not be policed correctly, it’s an actual disgrace. Uefa are a disaster waiting to happen. How are we still putting fans into closed up pens with people being pressed against fences? How are we keeping people for hours? All you have to do is open as many turnstiles as possible and keep the line moving, if anyones ticket doesn’t work you move them through to another area where a team check why your ticket doesn’t work, you don’t just stop and then hold up the queue because you are idiots that have one turnstile open for 20k fans. The only surprise is we haven’t woken up to hear of deaths at this event. A disgrace! French police, the staff and UEFA you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Shame on France after the match, Liverpool fans were attacked by ruthless gangs of thugs lacking in all decency, attacking men, women and children, it was pure terror for all of them, the police who should have protected them were negligent in their duty to take care of the innocent, they just didn't seem to care, there are many accounts of people who felt lucky to escape alive. I am personally not a Liverpool supporter, but also say,- we should be united, whichever club we support, in calling to account those responsible, in order to assure the safety of others and this badness never happens again

Basle, keiv, istanbul, and madrid, no problems with ticketless fans, or fake tickets, cos they had proper cordons around the ground, making sure that very few of these types of people got near the ground. The french failed to do this, 100s of locals and people without tickets where able to get right upto the ground, which hasnt happened in years, most major events weeding these people out before they get near the ground is basics

Seeing the pictures of the bridge, I got backflashes from the tragedy at the "Loveparade" in Germany, where people were exactly in such a situation. Panic started and in the end 652 people were injured and 21 dead. It is simply luck that that didn't happen and the calm behavior of the Liverpool fans! Imagine if it had e.g. 30 plus Celsius, people would have collapsed there in the middle of 20.000 people, no water or any medic around......the Uefa can be very very thankfull that they dont have blood on their hands.

Me and my daughter were teargassed twice, my daughter who works on the new main stand main entrance at Anfield was with me we got to the ground well over two hours before the kickoff and we are directed towards the ramp that lead up to gate A There was a crowd about 50 to 100 people deep and they the full width of the ramp and the crowd was stopped halfway up the ramp by a perimeter( waste height ) fence we had got to one side of the ramp and stood against a head height wall that ran the full length of the ramp, my daughter climbed up on to the top of the wall to try and see above the people to see what had happened and then the teargas was dispersed and a huge stampede of people (like cattle) came down the ramp towards us everybody experienced the burning Sensation of eyes and throat from the exposure to the teargas, we eventually went to the bottom of the ramp and asked the police officers there to show us a way to get to gate A he pulled a map out and us to go back up the ramp we told them we had just come from the ramp and had been teargassed and they looked at us and laughed and then told us to go back up the ramp because there was no alternative route to Gate A and that it was ok ,so we went for a second time up the same ramp and after a 15 minute or so we had the same experience a second time and we were showered with tear gas again , I am a Hillsborough survivor and I was fearful we were heading for another experience of the same magnitude my daughter was crying and obviously very distressed people all around me are coughing at sputtering with swollen eyes , I tried to work with the people around me to keep them calm and understand that there is more important things in life than getting in the ground We then eventually got through the stop gate and moved on to Gate A which was Another shambles Large capacity of people patiently waiting in a big snake queue trying to get through a couple of turnstiles well please we are checking tickets individually One at a time we could see to our right where Gates had been opened and people were rushing up the steps that lead to gate B Thankfully the kickoff was delayed on two occasions,We eventually got to our seats just prior to the kickoff after being around the ground for 2/3 hours

Something that stands out for me aside from the appalling treatment of football fans at the biggest showpiece game in club football. Where did Conor and his friends get their tickets from? Actually, if you watch the video of the Liverpool supporters singing in the streets in Paris before the game, lighting flares and sitting on statues you can see how drunk and rowdy and loud and enthusiastic and LARGE and messy they were. Right? Probably very scary for the locals, who were already hating on English soccer fans anyway, same as you. But those fans were NOT smashing windows or flipping cars or starting fires or throwing punches (or shooting anybody), even though, from what I could tell, they had every opportunity and justification to behave very badly indeed. As far as I can tell they took the pepper spray, the tear gas, the targeted misinformation from UEFA, the disorganization, the dangerous situation both before AND after the game (not to mention the disappointing game result) in very good form. In case you didn't know, every single futbol game around the world at EVERY level is going to have people with fake tickets, people a bit too drunk, people trying to climb fences to get in... that is par for the course at athletic events of every kind. If Paris can't handle it, they shouldn't be playing hardball with the big boys. I for one am very proud of the way the Liverpool fans behaved that night. Just for the record, you might check out how the Paris cops treat other French futbol fans when they come to town. This is not the first time their angelic presence has increased the enjoyment of out-of-town fans.

This is a message to nobody in particular and to anybody for whom it resonates… I’m not going to try and generalize an entire country’s population because that would be very narrow minded on my part. That said, it seems to me that disorderly behavior and violence is a common theme among English soccer fans; yet all these English sports commentators, sports analysts, journalists…etc. always address a problem with they, them, those… and never start with taking a look in the mirror. If everything and everyone around you is always a problem, maybe you are the problem. Something to ponder…

From some of the videos it is clear that Liverpool supporters don’t know how to use bins anyway…..but it’s definitely an anti English stance by our EU neighbours. This is a good time for Irish people to stop supporting English Clubs and concentrate on our own….like it should be.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, perception is everything and Liverpool fans have become Marmite for a lot of other fans of clubs. Given this game took place the day before the anniversary of the Heysel tragedy in 85 these scenes are unfortunate, whether we will ever find out what really happened is doubtful, the French police certainly appear to have over reacted at times. The RM fans accessed the stadium without any problems. Last week Glasgow Rangers to a sizeable amount of fans to Seville without any major problems, so something here has gone seriously amiss here. Fortunately no one has lost their life or been seriously injured. I expect each side will now blame each other, whether bus parade through Liverpool yesterday with the 2 cups they won on the anniversary of Heysel tragedy is seen as insensitive in Turin by Juventus supporters, not sure. Who is really to blame for his ? ?
