Every keeps talking about how Conrad is so “moody” but ofc he is. He knew everything his mom was going through and couldn’t talk to anyone about. He had to keep it all to himself

one of my favourite scenes actually. You understand Conrad and his behaviour much better in the series than in the books. They really did that well

@BearyCity I feel like people forget that Conrad is a 17-year-old boy who is dealing with his mum‘s inevitable death and he doesn’t get to express the feelings because he’s not supposed to know. so yeah he’s kind of shitty with belly but when he understood what he was doing to her he tried to get away but he still has strong feelings for Belly that he doesn’t know how to express! Also I don’t know if people remember but there is that one part where his mum talks about the time he broke his arm and he didn’t tell anybody because he didn’t wanna upset people, Conrad silence his feelings a lot. team Conrad all the way

"it just keeps going and going. The whole goddamn thing is infected and I didn't notice. It's everywhere and I didn't notice" Ik he was having a panic attack but this line felt like he was describing how cancer spread over other parts of the body (the whole thing is infected). Con was thinking about his mom all the time and I don't ever wanna imagine how that must've felt. The guy was in pain since the beginning but everyone thought he was just an as*hole. GOD this show is driving me crazy and I love it

Yk I really have so much empathy for and relatibility with Conrad's character and I hate the treatment he got in season 2. People celebrating Belly and Jeremiah like Conrad is some toxic bad person who deserves to be left.

As someone who suffers from panic attacks on a daily basis, I find this scene realistic. The way the actor portrays this scene was really accurate.

@@abri3902 yeah, a lot of movies and books that I have seen or read dramatized panic attacks. The characters were usually screaming or throwing a fit but here, it was so natural that I cried.

As someone who's lived something similar to Conrad's experience, I can totally understand his behaviour throughout the series. He is carrying the burden of truth on his shoulders. The other kids are living the time of their life, while he's facing the reality of things, plus pretending he doesn't know anything. That's a lot when you're just 18. He's not moody, distant or mysterious because he's a piece of sh*t. He's trying his best to keep himself together.

Same I completely understand Conrad cuz I also lost my mom at 18, idk I don’t like the way the fandom sometimes treats Susannas storyline and how it affects Conrad and Jeremiah it gets kinda trivialized

@@glittergal1015 First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. And thank you for sharing a part of you. I 100% agree with you. Susannah is the glue that holds all of them together. Without her, nothing would ever happen. That’s why her storyline is important: she impacts everyone. She’s the one who keeps everything alive.

Walked in on my daughter watching this scene. Instantly got hooked. That was some amazing acting by both guys. Kind of a bonus the author has a great name.

I actually love this scene , it's my favourite scene in the entire series I also think Chris just has lots of potential as an actor, all his deliverance in the series was so natural, even the supposed cringe scripts seemed fine when he delivered it, it made his character stand out so much, I love it I'm crying 😭😭❤

Mine, too. It was powerful and Christopher did a great job. And the one where he talked to Cleveland about Belly. That relationship was needed in the story.

Conrad’s panic attack was the most relatable thing I’ve ever seen in a TV show. The actor really brings out Conrad’s personality and character. He also did a great job in this scene.❤

This scene really was emotional for me, I cried and my fiancé even had tears in his eyes too and also commented how good a scene it was……I’m so glad Cleveland was there for him

As someone who has been struggling with severe anxiety from a young age, this really hits hard. Not only the panic attack, but after losing 3 family members to cancer within the span of 5 years & another family who is in remission for breast cancer, any time I hear someone in my family is sick enough to be in the hospital I start having a panic attack.

I was thinking that how did Susannah not know about the kids knowing about her cancer, I think they missed something there, it was mentioned in the show that Susannah had a chemo previously also, so how is it that her boys don't know about her having cancer, I mean, I didn't get it....

Yeah I think she hadn't told them about her cancer having returned and her being terminally ill this time.

the chemo is from the last time she had cancer and went into remission, the boys know that she had cancer previously but they think it's gone and she hasn't told them it came back yet

For a story like this i would suggest reading the books i read two books in both the same day. Each like two hundred pages. And then watch the series. I like the way u could understand the feelings in the book more. Everyone is here binging the show while i binge the book series. 😅
