It’s true that we don’t know each other, and it’s also true that despite that - I am incredibly proud (or at least as much as I can be without it being OTT) of them for sharing their abuse stories. Messages like this truly help people of all ages to know they have a support network - and that they can seek advice, share as much or as little as they need to gain closure, and find lots of support wherever needed. I know this is only a small KZfaq comment somewhere in the world but feel free to use the chatbox in this comment to host these discussions. I like seeing people gain a “heightened level of enlightenment and self belief” from things like this 💛💛💛💛

She may not be the best role model in several things… but when she said when someone does something out of character, making a scene… care for them, listen to them, console them… cause there might be something in that person life that is not right…

Some of her fans attacked her virtually saying she’s ungrateful just cuz she sounded annoyed that the show got renewed. I love the show and I saw her tweet at the time but didn’t see it as insulting. I thought maybe she wanted of do more movies and she felt trapped to the show or something. Turns out she was being sexually harassed by a producer and couldn’t wait to leave that set only for that reason.

@@runrafarunthebestintheworld I know it’s random to bring Shia LaBeouf right now but I find it odd. I find it disturbing that he assaulted his ex girlfriend in all forms of assault, and people are trying to be “understanding of his mental state” as to why he felt the need to beat her up. He is not being canceled as easily as one would presume such a violent person to be. He’s gaining sympathy as an abuser online right now. Yet here people are so gleefully and passionately eager to attack someone like Constance Wu for simply saying “ugh” about coming back to a show. She didn’t assault anyone in the process if anything she too is a victim of assault from that set. Instead she’s getting public wrath for literally doing nothing. The public giving Shia a thousand chances before he does something worse yet again. It’s disgusting. The public is disgusting. Makes no sense. Sexism maybe? Idk. People are embarrassingly manipulated by abusers and they are so cruel to people that make tiny mistakes like what Constance Wu said. She didn’t hurt anyone or even say slurs of any kind.

Staying quiet is a form of protection, and sometimes a result of feeling shame for something that wasn’t even their fault. It’s never your job to “should” a survivor about their feelings or actions after they have been abused.
