In this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart finally receive their long-awaited shipping containers from the United States. They share their weekend of new purchases for the chateau, including a trip with Jane and Tony from "Not Quite a Chateau DIY" to a monthly brocante in Châteauroux. Patrick does some restoration on a newly acquired antique side table. They also start to prepare the chateau dining room for an upcoming Thankgiving dinner party.

Good morning Patrick & Stuart, I usually make a point to watch your video's last, watching your videos is like a magicians box, you never know what is coming out, but it is all good fun! So today's was no exception, loaded with treats. First of all the goods have arrived which is a great relief so you can settle all of that and use and enjoy. Then the finds at the markets, your stuff is just too gorgeous for words. Both tables, the terrene and that cutlery looks amazing. Can't wait for the Thanks Giving episode. I love that Day, we don't celebrate it here in South Africa but my heart is with the American people in that period. So you have all the goods to "swank" with and enjoy it is going to be some show!! Looking back you had quite a lovely week, Tony and Jane added to the pleasure of shopping and great finds. It’s so encouraging seeing all you chateau owners restoring old Europe……these beautiful places deserve a new life. I particularly appreciate your attention to the history. Where I live in Florida, they’re tearing everything down and building new…..disappearing the past and mass producing places with no character 😢. I just love how ya’ll breath new life into old places. I am reminded of the classic film "The Quiet Man" when Maureen O'Hara's possessions arrive to her new cottage and she is enveloped in memories and love for her old friends. So, you finally got your old friends back, too, Patrick and Stuart...and by the truck load. I am happy the breakage was at a minimum. Good luck getting it all sorted quickly.

Hats off to Angela Vorhees! She said it, "Very nice visit..." That is what these videos feel like! I always enjoy the shopping trips. I could get into so much trouble at these antique fairs! LOL! It is so much more fun to go to these with friends. Everyone's different interests and the camaraderie just makes the day special. The bedside table spruced up beautifully. Congrats, of course, on the containers! I hope not too much of the really special things got broken. We are switching to Winter here, 70's today, 30's for a high tomorrow!

I remember Thanksgiving when I was a little girl. My grandmother would get the jellied cranberry out of the can whole & she would cut along the indentations of the can lines. To this day I still don't care for the taste of it, but I love my grandmother & eat it anyway to remind me of her.

Gotta admit…I’m jealous of the quality & prices of products available in French antique markets, merchants & charity shops compared to the overpriced antiques, and garbage at our charity shops here in the states! The fact that America is a ‘one use’ country there aren’t allot of nice affordable pieces available, whereas in France products are meticulously designed and fabricated much by hand then passed down to fill your homes! Take for example the treasures you guys got last weekend. Those pieces; if even available here; we couldn’t afford them. The pieces you got are gorgeous! When you add the objects from Chicago to the things you’ve gotten so far in France; with both of your design talents; the château is going to look *STUNNING!* I really can’t wait to see the spectacular chandelier from IL hung in the grand salon! Hi Doc. Thank you so much for your great comment. Love the detail. You are absolutely right. It is a one-use society. I have seen high end antiques in stores in Chicago and NYC but never in thrift or charity shops. The little table we bought for 45€….. Thank you for your confidence in our designs. We will try to do this old lady justice. The Chicago chandelier will be in the dining room we think since we bought the Baccarat gilded one for the salon. I have to take all the crystals out of that one and rewire them. Much love from us in Colombe. 🥰😘🥰

When I lived in Lyon France; I did Thanksgiving every year. That was back 1991 to 1999. It started with about 6 people the first year to thank the people that had help me in my first month's after arrival and the last year was 37 people. American students that were at the universities there and friends and their families. I do remember that I use to have to order my turkey a month in advance at the hall de Lyon because they don't normally start to sell them until closer to Christmas.. just a FYI . So happy that the truck arrived and it was your stuff! LoL Love you guy's! ♥

I used to own a 100 year old farm house that I turned into a vacation rental home when I got remarried. It had 8 bedrooms and a lot of cool furniture. One thing I didn't want people to do was mark up my furniture by not having enough sense to use a coaster. I provided them in every room. Renters sometimes don't care for others' things as well as they might their own. Just a thought.

Chateauroux is where my friends' mother lived until she was put into a care home. I don't know what happened to her house there since I have not seen him for a couple of years. That was nice of that driver to help you put the buffet together.

Hi Werner. Chateau roux is only about 35 minutes away. So close. The crew was paid to carry everything onto the chateau. And they are not used to clients helping to unload and carry boxes. It was fun. They were thrilled to have one item that they could carry inside. We all had coffee afterwards in the kitchen together and chatted. It was really nice. Cheers. 💖🥰💖

you two have marvelous taste and I love that you come across good buys. I have to tell you, I pulled a Patrick last week. Local auction house had art etc. from a local interior designer. Great stuff - mostly over my budget. But, I did do what Patrick has done - enter the starting bid on an item and hope for the best. Well I won a few of the items! A few pieces of art and a candelabra. Natch, I didn't read the measurements closely and the darn thing is huge! Like 3 feet over what I thought it was going to be. LOL I have big rooms but this sucker was made for a chateau! Alas, I have it in my hall and I chuckle when I look at it an think of you, Patrick. Nice to know I'm not alone! The table is GORGEOUS! I'm so happy for you that your containers arrived. I was so looking forward to seeing your buffet in the Chateau, and also your lighting fixture. How great that you now have your belongings from home! Sorry you had a problem with receiving your shipment. I’ve had a bad experience with removalists, much worse than yours, so I feel you! 🙄 Im sure you’ll have fun placing your items in the chateau. I’ll enjoy seeing how you decorate your rooms. Funny the statue of the girl is very similar to one of a woman that you can see in the Magical Modernistic Mansion. They could be mother and daughter! Love your new purchases! Boy I’d find those markets irresistible! Loved a lot of the decorative items. I haunt online auction sites here in Australia. Patrick, you’re so talented with furniture enhancement. Your tips for furniture care are wonderful and have reminded me to do some work myself. Loved seeing your adventures ( and seeing your dogs and the new gates) 😍

Love everything you purchased! I would spend so much time and money in those brocantes and markets! I would need a very large chateaux of my own to hold it all. Glad your containers arrived. It will be fun to rediscover your things as you unpack.

So doing something like that alone just isn’t possible for me. But watching you and Stuart is so much fun. Wish you could do more videos a week! I know that is asking a lot.

I can't wait to see how your furniture looks in the chateau especially with your recent finds. It must be so nice to have your belongings again. My mother use to drive around Manhattan and pick up discarded wooden furniture from the sidewalks and refurbish them so I appreciate seeing you bring new life to these pieces.

Its like Christmas when the containers turn up isn't it! You have bought some lovely pieces as usual lads. I really do enjoy the outings, love the countryside. I work on furniture a fair bit and often it's simply to keep it out of landfill and to teach. But finding nice little pieces that simply need some wax, polishing and love is wonderful also. And love the bust on the table between you both. 😘😘

Hello there my friend. How is Australia doing? 😜. It is like Christmas. And some things are questionable as to why we brought them. 🤣. The little table was an easy facelift. Keeping items out of landfill is wonderful. Now that terra cotta bust….. We saw one in the Chateau de Villandry on a mantle and fell in love with her. When I saw this at the antique fair I knew we’d have to splurge……. And she want expensive either. Cheers and stay out of trouble 🤩💕😘

And "Hell no" to staying out of trouble!!! We have just had an arctic blast of cold weather followed by 4-5 days of high 20's! Its mad here weather wise but I have been in my gardens a lot. Am sorry you two had wait so long for your containers to arrive. Hope things made it to you two in good shape. Now my parents friends on the east coast one of the couple was from Halifax they have Thanksgiving in Oct & they have huge spread.! They had lobster from NS!
