This is of course just my personal opinion but... I don't see any issue at all with her breakdown, and I definitely don't think that she disliked any of the performances. I thought she was actually having a lot of fun. Out of everyone, dancers are by far the most critical when It comes to other dancers because they truly want to see them do their absolute best every single time they are on a stage. No matter the circumstances. I also find them to seem "harsh" but only in a understandable and constructive way . If anything, I've noticed that those getting critiqued actually appreciate the harshness for the most part. They are looking for their flaws after all. Not for a pat on the back. Heck, inside their own minds, I'm sure they are being far harsher on themselves than anyone else could be. For example, Lee Know has never taken it easy on the guys. If you are a STAY then you are aware of his stern and serious nature when he's working with them on a routine. It's just a part of who he is, Haha. But we also know he's much more than that. That he is extremely caring and loves them all very much. He just wants them to do well. Plus let's be honest... SKZ as a collective are one of the best when it comes to 5heir choreography. Even the vocalists are very talented! That takes a lot of failures to reach, and someone has to tell you that you failed and precisely why. I dunno about you, but after a long day, I can't imagine that it will always come across as "gently" phrased, either. It's not like he hurts their feelings, they understand the mindset of their main dancer, of his intentions. At the end of the day, they know healthy criticism comes from a place of love. Lol So yeah, great dancers tend to be rough around the edges, but only because they want to help. They know you are aware of what you are good at, but if you were aware of what you lack.. then you probably wouldn't still be lacking it... And someone has to be able to tell you. Right? So I guess it all depends on how you look at it. I think she made a lot of good points and obviously really payed attention. You can't condemn her for not knowing all the little details that we do about why they did or didn't do something. Let's face it, all dancers have room for improvement. We love our guys, but even they would tell you they are far from being "perfect".

I really appreciate her honesty she's coming from a perspective of a COMTEMPORARY DANCER, of course she will be critical when it comes to dancing. Her commentary may not be appreciated by those who constantly seek validation for their idols/stans but she's speaking from her experience. But she also provides points where there could be improvements. She may not know these idols as members of a group but she's seeing them as soloist providing a performance.

Completely agree with your take on background dancers not always being necessary and Hyunjin was really the only one who actually made them useful for parts of the choreo. I think the reason why they all had background dancers though is cause kpop choreographers like symmetry and more complicated formations, it's also a reason why it's common for kpop groups to have 7+ people

Love her commentaries and input, however, I think she may forget that they’re PERFORMERS and not just DANCERS. Like the clothes, camera work, facial expressions and all are necessary bc the purpose of this is to put on a show as ARTISTS. Though, I do like her criticism and advice on how to make a dancer showcase their abilities. And I also agree that sometimes the camera work is absolute ham and doesn’t fully showcase their dance moves as a whole. My personal favourite was Hyunjin bc he hit every point (clothes, song choice to match the dance style, facial expressions, dance, choreography and more).

Why is everyone getting so pressed, I'm so glad she's not following the typical youtuber formula of trying to praise everything blindly without being genuine about it. i really appreciate her honesty! i think kpop fans in general are allergic to criticism and that’s probably why we see a lot of professional reactors refrain from speaking out their honest opinions; because people will jump at them! but if you think your artists/idols do not get criticized by their trainers and teacher you’re wrong, they might as well receive harsh ones, not everyone speak to them softly like a fan would do, but that’s how they learned and evolved, they’re not perfect and i’m sure they are very much aware of that. and us liking a not-perfect-idol is totally okay, it’s very enjoyable actually, to watch them grow and be better with time. anyway i do hope we would see more of her..her honesty was refreshing to see. p.s: i really think she was respectful to the artists while stating her opinions, but i’m not sure many would agree with me😅

For the people saying it's Artist of the Month not "Dancer of the Month". Studio Choom translates as " Dance Studio". AOTM is made for dancers to showcase their ability.

I’m gonna be really honest here (just my personal opinion). For Yeonjun, as much as I respect and appreciate his AOTM (and he did a great job executing it), I feel like they downplayed Yeonjun’s actual capabilities/skills as a dancer. What he did here was just scratching the surface because this was nothing compared to when he’s freestyling live for his fans. His roots are popping and locking, as well as hip hop based. I thought they were going to showcase some of that and hone in on his roots, but hey. This wasn’t bad either. I appreciate the storytelling portion and his overall AOTM performance. He still nailed it regardless.

To be fair, when we want dancers to react to dancing, one should expect for the professionals to want to see a full body shot and watch them work! I understand our (as fans) disappointment, but not everyone is going to think the same as us…and that’s okay!! I loved her reactions and I enjoy her commentary because, I too, want dancers to commit to body rolls and awareness of body lines. Styling for me is very huge and sometimes a lot of nuances and movements get hindered by outfits. I’m glad she agrees the back-up dancers don’t add much to most AOTM’s, because that’s been one of my criticisms as well. I’m glad she’s here for it and can’t wait for more!

Hyunjin is not called the kpop performance leader and Dancing God for nothing. His movements are so sharp and precise, yet elegant and delicate but also strong. His facial expressions always on point. The talent, technique and passion he has are out of this world and yo think he had zero skills before debut. I just love seeing people appreciate Hyunjin's talent

i absolutely love how honest she is with her critique, all of which is fair imo! a lot of what she's saying makes perfect sense, even as someone who is hyunjin biased, i loved his styling for his performance for example, but i completely agree and appreciate that a different outfit would have showcased his movements better. also agree that the camera work, 9 times out of 10, was not giving what it needed to give. usually with group performances on studio choom they will also release a full focused cam version and i really wish they'd have done it with these ones as well, but if you want to see the footwork there are unfiltered cam versions that are just of the soloists for aotm, although filmed from a more off-centered angle. in general a lot of kpop fans really are just completely unable to take any kind of criticism of their faves, no matter how respectful or accurate it actually is, so i really appreciate reactors like her who won't hesitate to speak their minds. thoroughly enjoyed this and looking forward to hear her points on hyunjin's other solos!

I guess it’s cheating a bit, but maybe the steady cam versions would be better to react to as there’s less distracting angles. As a casual viewer without dancing background, they’re all fun to watch. But I can see her general points, I just don’t pick up as much on the details that they could improve on. But then again, they’re all much better than me so it’s hard to picture what could be better. Overall, critical but enjoyed the commentary. Hyunjin is my personal favourite out of the 3.

Objectively all three are good dancers, but she puts it very clearly why I liked hyunjin’s AOTM the most of these three. There’s something about Juyeon’s and Yeonjun’s choreo and execution that I always felt was missing and I felt they didn’t showcase their maximum artistry.

TBH most of good dancers have skill... but the assignment..the facial expressions the control and the emotions..they haven't enough.. like when u see hyunjin dance is attractive and amazing because u want to see more he will melting your eyes.. his facial expressions is awesome.. there are so many great dancers with perfect skills but not good performer.. hyunjin is different because he feel the music + skill.. he puts his emotions his own style to song .. so if others dance as basic of choreography hyunjin moves hit different because of his different unique style

I agree that AOTM is actually dance specialised, but as an artist/performer, there are a lot of things to do in that performance: I mean, of course, they must dance, and also, have to show MORE THAN it, because idols are not just dancers. And even though back-up dancers might be distracting like she said, they did help a lot in the performance if she could understand that as a performer, not just about her being a dancer. Anyways, just saying. As a dancer, she just said what she saw, so yeah, I respect it.

COMMIT to the movement -now, these are actual criticism that didn't just apply to the dancer but as well as the whole production crew (heck, even to the choreographers behind it 😂)

Mmhmm. I like this analysis a lot. It's a relatively objective breakdown of the performances, because she's not a fan of any of these artists (at least to my knowledge?). And she has a point - I've always felt like Hyunjin's AOTM is a lot stronger than almost all of the other male AOTMs - he understood the assignment, delivered on the song, choreo, isolations, and expressions. The other two in this video didn't have as much impact in any of those areas, and it could be due to any number of reasons, but the point is that a fair number of people seem to feel the same way, and the video views speak for themselves. That said, I'm not a pro dancer so I've mainly kept my comments to myself, but it's interesting to see that pro dancers feel the same way about these AOTMs. I hope that we, as fans, can respect others' opinions and perspectives. I, for one, would love to see more of her reactions, especially to more of Hyunjin's performances!

Stans just upset that she did not praise their faves to the sky and back just to please all fandoms. I liked the fact that she spoke her mind and gave a frank and real picture of what she felt about their performances based on her experiences as a dancer. Nowhere was she hating on the dancers or their routines but pointed out things that could have been different or better in their performances. There is a difference between the two. And some of you saying that she didn't enjoy these performances is not true cause she did enjoy Hyunjin's routine. If you give her a quality performance to enjoy she will enjoy it. All in all, I loved her reaction and if you didn't like her comments don't watch the reaction! To be honest I would love to see more of her. I love how she talks her mind. She likes Hyunjin's dance more than Yeonjun's cause Yeonjun is hip hop trained where as Hyunjin is contemporary trained. But then again whoever has seen Yeonjun's ' Essence of dance' knows how insane his dancing can get. There's a reason why J-hope calls Yeonjun 'dance genius '. And moreover, I feel like Hyunjin's choreography was the most dynamic out of all the atom dances (in terms of male)

With Juyeon, I think he wanted to show something completely different than what his public is used to: meaning acrobatics, stunts, etc. He wanted to focus on expression and I believe that's why he chose this song. Of course, for a first time viewer, they might not be impressed. But for someone who knows his previous artistry, it's actually a very interesting piece. Also, I'd like to see CeeCee react to some sexy dances from BTS'Jimin and Ateez' Wooyoung.

I have never heard or seen a dancer that’s reacted to an MV or SCHOOM that’s cared for the production aspect of the video vs the choreo/ style and dancing as much. Hence why they are there to react. So everytime I see them react too I just want to toss that dance practice link or full focus cam links. They make all the difference to dancers. ATOM gives you a little taste of everything so everyone can enjoy it, but if your looking for something specific to react to, she definitely came and did her job. I love her reactions to HYUNJINis most, they really spoke to the simplistic elements of the song and the performance he’s able to give. Because she’s right, he has that “it” factor, he can really do it all; I think further more she’s saying if he has different styles of teachers added on he could deliver it (body rolls for instance l0l) no problem. Either way, I like that she kept it real, and didn’t base it off just being a fan, that surly goes appreciated for these boys that are putting in the work.🤙🏽

People in the comments. Unfiltered fancam is not the "same only without filters". This is a gluing of unsuccessful takes, early versions, working out the material, trying to find the right shooting angle, in general, a rough process. To understand and see something, it is better to look choreo-record. All three guys did great.

As a fan of yeonjun, I actually agree. Always feel that he is capable of doing so much more but kind of feel like he's holding back. But we all have to understand that it's not the idols who decide the "concept" or the style. It's their companies who are in charge of everything. Their choreographer/performance director/producer contribute wayyy more than the idols themselves. I'm pretty sure all of them can pull off a harder or more complicated choreography if they're required to. People not liking the performance does not mean they think the idols have poor skills. Let's just enjoy what we like and let people have their opinions if they feel the same.
