Great video. It's wonderful to see how well beans respond to hydroponic culture. They grow nice and quick too.

My first attempt at beans was a partial success. I planted Dwarf French Beans called Mascotte. I got enough beans for a side vegetable for 6 meals so not too bad. They were very tasty. I think the mistake I made was putting them in the same unit as Tiny Tim tomatoes. I had four plants of each in a 12 pod garden. I didn't get many tomatoes either so I think both plants were competing for the nutrients. I ate the tomatoes as fast as they ripened. They were juicy and sweet. I have plenty of seeds left in both packets so the Tiny Tims I'll grow in the greenhouse next year and the beans I'll plant in raised beds. I really enjoy growing different things in the gardens. I dried some Chillies in the dehydrator and have a jar full with more almost ready and the plant still producing lots of flowers and flower buds.

Bush beans can give multiple harvests. I got a 4 harvests out of my beans. The 3&4 harvests were much slower though.

Not sure, if this applies. More severe in humid areas, and is favored by moderate temperatures; green bean "rust" is a fungal disease. You should avoid eating beans from plants with rust, even if the beans are not showing signs yet. Just considering your health. Otherwise, thank you for sharing that method. I am wanting to grow green beans hydroponically too.

It’s great that you got some nice bean pods. I’m concerned that those diseased-looking leaves are due to bean mosaic virus. Hope the other plants didn’t get infected.

Would you trellis the beans the next time? Thank you for the wonderful video.

I recently bought aerogarden , but the plants have grown little over above the light shield and I observed the buds are falling apart is it because there is no light, can you guide me

Fascinating experiment. Do you feel this variety is as productive as other bean varieties you have grown in Aerogardens? Would you grow this particular variety again?
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 11 ай бұрын
Yeah, this variety is definitely productive. I think Dragan Tongue beans are still top of my experiments. However, contender Bush is very comparable.

Would you say it was worth putting the 4 plants in one aerogarden vs the 2 that got put in another one? Your tomato video has me curious on if it's worth growing fewer bean plants that would yield more stocks.

4 plants is fine. 2 would be underused so go for 3-4.

How do you polinate the flowers? Or do they polinate themselves?
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 10 ай бұрын
There is no need for manual pollination. Bean flowers can take care of themselves.
@Thespinningwoman

Did you have to do anything about pollination?
@aerogardenexperiments

No, beans flowers take care of themselves.

Just curious ... why would you leave diseased leaves 🍃 to "see what happens?"
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 11 ай бұрын
Yeha, I removed most of the diseased leaves and left a few to observe what happens. The plant didn't give up but it didn't show any further progress.
@sunset6010

With all those plants , it just produced 6 oz of produce , correct? 🍃
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 11 ай бұрын
Yeah, 6 oz from the first harvest. I got about 3 oz from second harvest. And that's it.

Hi! I'm growing green beans for the first time. What would recommend as feeding amount using the Aerogarden Plant Food? Do the plants require a different feeding schedule other than the 14 days? I'm seeing differences in methods but I always enjoy your videos!
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 5 ай бұрын
Regular feeding schedule is just fine for beans.
