Interesting results, makes me wonder about one plant in one garden that is pruned for productivity.

there is something wrong with the video I think you should adjust the settings to avoid the annoying lines when you move the camera. The thing to look for is the "interlaced" setting, it should be "progressive" (no idea if that's in your camera or the software you used to import the video). Nice tips by the way :) i am growing tomatoes too with the Aerogarden

Makes me wonder why they bother putting so many spots when we can never use them all anyway

Limiting to a few plants applies to bigger plants like tomatoes, peppers, etc. Small plants like lettuce, spinach, and herbs can go in all holes.

This was very informative! I don't use all the pods in my units (always leave some space) but had not heard of the 1 plant per 3 pods. I also have a Farm 24XL so was guessing at how many pods to fill. 😅

there doesnt seem to be enough room in areogarden (spacing) as tomatoe grows; i had to transplant it to pot with dirt and had to buy a root farm rectangular LED light more light surface area. Hav eyou tried growing a bigger tomatoe like a early girl ? there is not enough height as the tomatoe grows.... any feed back

Out of curiosity, are there any other plants that you could place in the open/unused pod spaces that would provide utility without interfering with the growth of the 2 tomato plants?

Not in the long run, but you can grow other short crop plants like radishes, bok choy, etc until the tomato plants show the flower. You can check these experiments for visuals: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mc-japB50bXbY3k.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qZmcnsV3ptrUlIU.html

Being that you do not like to prune, one plant to get very large would be a good idea ✅️

Thanks for the great videos! I've been collecting aero gardens for 2 years now after my father in law bought me my first garden. I've been watching my local marketplaces carefully and I'm up to 6 gardens. I have romaine lettuces growing in 4 gardens, planting one garden every week to be able to rotate our harvest. Our family of 4 shouldn't have to buy lettuce at all this winter. I'm ready to grow something different in my other 2 gardens (and in any more gardens I find along the way) so I"m looking for the plants that will produce the most that I can't get from my winter farmer's markets. How long will your tomato plants continue to produce?

Tomato plants stay (almost) forever. Once you are done harvesting tomatoes, trim the plants, and they will come back with the next crop. Please check this video about maintenance - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nL58gtuHyLuopnk.html

so based on this would you say the 18 port mufga could do 6? wonder how much more nutes I would need to up per plant
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 7 ай бұрын
I would go with 4 max. I think we say 1 plant for every 3 pods because it applies to all Aerogardens but in reality it goes by bowl size and the space between the pods. Cherry tomato plants spread 10 inches wide.

@@aerogardenexperiments cool thanks I was thinking 4 large around the outer corners (pepper/tomato) and if I do that could I then add a few herbs or something small lettuce, cilantro, chive or green onion? or should it only be the large and dont mix in small. I haven't seen anyone do any mix like that.

My flowers just fall off, what am I doing wrong ? Also the plants are tall and thin without many branches. I hope u can help me

Based on the growth description, I wonder if the variety you are growing is a cherry tomato variety? Flowers fall off if the pollination didn't happen. All tomato flowers are self pollinating. However, many non-cherry tomato varieties need a little help with manual pollination by tapping the flowers or gently shaking the plant. So, I recommend trying it. Also, just wanted to make sure, you are seeing the whole flower is falling off, right? Not just the petals. Because, once the baby tomato started developing, petals will fall off which is normal.

@@aerogardenexperiments I think they are cherry tomatoes and I did pollinate by shaking / putting my electric toothbrush on each flower. Thank u so much for responding. I’m thinking of staring again but I’m not sure what I did wrong. Maybe I aggressively pruned them before flowering ? I think I put too many seeds in each pod and I cut a lot of the plants out. I don’t have many branches but I see new growth coming in so I don’t know if I should start over. I don’t understand why the flowers would fall off completely

Very interesting! Does the 3 pod per plant guideline also work for cucumbers? Or do they need more room?

I grew one cucumber plant per Aerogarden Harvest unit and they did great! Also did 2 cucumber plants in a 12 pod IDOO unit and they did great too.😊

Cucumber plant needs even more space and nutrients. So, 1 per Harvest and 1( maybe 2) per Bounty is the best.
