Welcome to part THREE of my Continental Divide Trail Thru-Hike Series. This video starts out about 160 miles into the CDT (in Silver City, New Mexico) entering the Gila National Forest, home to the Gila River. The Gila proves to be quite the adventure and navigational challenge, but it’s not the hardest thing the CDT throws at us in this stretch. Watch to see some close up encounters with wild fires and some of the best (and worst) water sources on the Continental Divide Trail.
