I didn't know anything about Mormon until I moved to Utah! I spent a year studying and going to the church. They were very convincing! They were upset that I went to the church for a year, took three missionary studies, and never joined! I finally told them to leave me alone. I found out later that they put me on an x list. Know what that is? Anyways? I've commented before and love that, you have done so much work! You are beautiful on the outside but, more so, on the inside! Thank you!

Brado M I wasn’t mixing up anything. We are saved by grace but we are also told to be perfect, we are told nobody can enter the kingdom of heaven but he that does the father’s will. Paul said the law (works) doesn’t save anybody because the audience hadn’t given up the law of Moses. You want to speak of cause and effect? Newsflash, accepting Jesus Christ is a work. 🤔. We are saved by grace only because we don’t have the ability to save ourselves. Salvation from death is free but eternal life requires sacrifice and good works, then his grace is sufficient. Mathew 5:48 be ye therefore perfect. That requires work. Again, accepting Jesus is a work. People that don’t believe in Jesus will be saved from death. Your claims are wrong and not scriptural. Faith without works is dead, The devils believe and tremble. They haven’t accepted Jesus. Again, a work.

Anthony Lambson I know we are saved by grace. There is no other way period. But to say we don’t need to do all we can, is complete blasphemy. We need to do good works. Isn’t accepting Jesus a good work? He does not want us to be idle. He wants us to produce fruits. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not nor, has ever taught anything other than being saved by grace. We know we can’t save ourselves. We believe in good works but frankly don’t you? Jesse really needs to read The Book of Mormon if, she is going to criticize it. @Headless Horseman I guess that I am really bowled over by the logic and strength of your argument, that I guess that I will change my faith and follow Jesus. What did Jesus say? "He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved." Does that not contradict the Evangelical Christian biblical interpretation from the 1960's? Which one am I supposed to believe: the words of Jesus Christ or the Evangelical Christian biblical interpretation from the 1960's? Oh about the Book of Mormon validation, maybe you should get in touch with more current facts. here is a good one to listen to:- Book of Mormon evidence they didn't tell you about kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pLiol6qG1Zmwe40.html I would be interested to know what way God's words are written? I thought it was delivered through prophets and not for private interpretation. If you listen to Bart Erhman, the supposed definition of the Trinity was not a 1st century Christian teaching. Please correct me if I am wrong with your knowledge of the scriptures and the whole process of transmission of the scriptures of our day. Can you please identify the prophet who sanctioned this, as God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow: "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto his servants the prophets." So if it wasnt a biblical teaching from the prophets, who came up with the idea, and who endorsed it? Oh was that a minority group who had wealth and political power? Who backed that up? Oh Constantine a wife killing, child killing murderous pagan Sun worshipper: I don't mean the Son of God either. Obviously a prophet who had authority to make such a declaration Can you explain to me John 1, in the beginning of what? Is this a relative or absolute beginning? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey, you are definitely correct in saying it has a place. Just not in salvation. In fact, James says faith without works is dead. He is speaking as a man who eventually dies for the Gospel. He is saying that if you do not follow Jesus in your actions you are an ineffective Christian. James 1:24 says, if you follow the law you will be blessed. Good works are the fruit of salvation not the root of salvation. Isaiah 64:6, Ephesians 2:1-10

Actually the bible really does not say any human will be tortured eternally. Everyone dies. They're dead until the resurrection. Hell is translated from 5 different words meaning different things. The lake of fire can't be thrown into the lake of fire. Death is the end. The holy spirit is what breathes life intocreation. If we believe in an eternal punishing of a live soul we are saying Gods spirit is going to be keeping people Alive for eternity in hell? No. Only jesus can make us eternal. Nothing else. We are not immortal unless jesus gives us eternal life and salvation. The dead will be raised and we will all be judged. The bible says the dead know nothing. Also the wages of sin is death not immortality in hell. Google all this it is true all in the bible.

I want everyone to pay careful attention to what Jessie uses as her measurement for "Truth" in all of her videos, The Bible. Pointing out contradictions comparing the book of Mormon to the Bible is easy for many individuals to accept. Pointing out the contradictions in this flawed measuring stick we call the Bible is more difficult for the believing Christian to accept. Take any of the Gospels and compare each story in detail and I guarantee you will see discrepancies. For example, During Jesus temptations, What was the second temptation? To jump off the Temple or bow down and worship Satan? Matthew said the first, Luke said the second. Did Jesus ride one animal into Jerusalem as stated by Mark or did he ride two animals as stated by Matthew? Did Jesus have a long conversation with Pilate as stated by John or was he silent except for uttering two words as in Mark? Could someone please help me understand how anyone can try and point out a flaw in a religious group, when their own religion is so terribly flawed in itself?

Chris Shearer it’s an appeal to authority argument... that being the Bible which, to many Christians, is the perfect and complete written document of god’s word. Really good point, I was thinking a similar thing while listening to this. There’s good evidence to support that the Bible itself is fallible and that the accounts therein deserve to be held to the same type of cross examination.
@haileykeller8357
@haileykeller8357 4 жыл бұрын
Chris Shearer So the gospels were eye witness accounts of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. If 4 different people witnessed the same crime, they would all have minor differences in their testimonies but the meaning or overall gist of the story is the same. That is to be expected. If all 4 gospels were exactly the same, that would actually be suspicious. In a court of law, it is expected that different eye witnesses have minor details that aren’t the same from each other, but as long as the gist or the main idea is the same, then they can be overlooked. No two people will tell a story exactly the same way, and if they did, it could be suspicious because that could mean that they were conspiring with each other to tell a lie. I would definitely recommend researching explanations for this (mine might not be the best) instead of writing the whole thing off

@@haileykeller8357 That's why people shouldn't feel they need to claim that The Bible has no contradictions. A book need not be completely free of contradictions to have great value. But if contradictions within The Bible are legit, then contradictions between The Bible and the BOM are also legit.
@haileykeller8357
@haileykeller8357 3 жыл бұрын
@@otisdylan9532 well the Bible has zero contradictions. A contradiction is when one part says something and another part states the opposite case with little or no evidence. In a police report, there will be slight differences between eye witness testimonies of a crime, but that doesn’t mean they contradict themselves. People have different perspectives or focused on different details, but the police would still accept the testimonies because it would actually be suspicious if they were all exactly the same. The Bible has zero contradictions because it is God’s inspired word and God is very consistent, righteous to preserve His Word, never changes and therefore never changes what he says, and always keeps his word. God can’t make mistakes. There are SO MANY legit contradictions between the Bible and the Book of Mormon!
@gz67
@gz67 2 жыл бұрын
Your objections actually reaffirm the validity of the New testament letters. It shows that the New Testament was written by different authors and the details may not be the same, but the overwhelming teachings of Jesus and His identity is taught by all..no contradictions there. This actually is evidence that the writings of the New Testament are genuine and not contrived by a planned deception or story telling by one or just a few individuals. We would expect to have some minor discrepancies between the writers as they are telling what they have witnessed and heard or saw. But the overall message of the letters is unanimously the same throughout. This is what separates Christians from pseudo-christian cults. They always add or take away certain teachings or practices that fundamentally contradict historic Christianity that hold certain truths to be unchangeable.

Thank so much for another great video. It's amazing how many contradictions and still members can't see or refuse to. The main way they keep their members in blindness is by saying the Bible wasn't translated correctly. They really don't want members reading the Bible, and they must not because literally almost everything it says contradicts,. The whole gospel essentially is different. It's like they want you to believe that Jesus came back and said never mind, everything I told you before I left, I changed my mind, this is the way it is, here's all these rules I forgot to tell you about. There's so many things that are just so obviously false it's unbelievable how many fall for it. So, I need help. I was raised Mormon and I left the church for a long time. I decided to come back, but I wanted to know Jesus more before I did. I had never read the Bible as an adult and after I did and started becoming close to the Lord, I started reading the BOM again. While I was reading it, so many red flags, I kept thinking, this doesn't sound like the Jesus I came to know through the Bible. I kept pushing back my feelings but one day while reading the D & C I heard an almost audible voice saying "THIS IS NOT ME, THESE ARE NOT MY WORDS!" It almost frightened me, but I was so wrapped into thinking I was going to go back to the Mormon church I tried to tell myself it was just Lucifer himself trying to stop me. As I kept reading, the voice became stronger and stronger, I knew with all certainty it was Christ himself speaking to me. I saw the contradictions. Holy Spirit guided me and brought to my remembrance the words of Jesus in the Bible and showed me how none of it fit. The Lord doesn't change his mind, God is not a man that he should lie. I was letting my girls go to Mormon church while I was on my journey to find the truth, but then I realized something.. They were learning about a false Christ. This is the greatest problem with the LDS church. They are literally robbing people of their salvation. They made up this Jesus. It's like you read a biography of someone with the same name, then you meet the other person and say oh I read all about you I know you so well! What happens? That person says depart from me I never knew you and you don't know me. They don't teach the prayer of salvation. Their whole works based system is robbing people of their salvation. It's truly sad. All these people thinking they're serving the Lord, so much wasted time. I watch my dad spend hours day by day reading the BOM, rarely will pick up the Bible. He's so brainwashed with the BOM that he wouldn't even be able to see all the contradictions, and if he did, he'd chalk it up to JS lie about it not being translated correctly. My dad is truly not saved. When I prayed the prayer of salvation and I received the Holy Spirit, my life changed dramatically. I can not even tell a white lie without feeling so convicted. My dad lies, my dad has so much pride and so many things that make me realize he's not saved, he does not have the Holy Spirit. Yes, we all sin, but after being a member of a church supposedly of Jesus Christ himself for almost 60 years, you would think he'd at least not be telling lies and acting the way he does. I know this is long, thank you for reading if you've gotten this far 😂 It is a very hard thing I'm going through because we live with my dad. Since i have told him I'm not going to be going back to church and that I don't want my girls going either, he's made our lives a living hell. He thinks I am literally posessed by a demon. He is lying to my daughters about me. I'm in a hard position because I'm not able to survive on my own without him due to health problems. I have given myself 100% to the Lord and it is very hard to not be bitter towards my dad. It affects my relationship with the Lord. I do have compassion on my dad and look at it that way. I know his pride and ego will prevent him from hearing what I have to say, I have to try though. I am going to write him a letter and explain everything and try to show him why I believe he's been misled but I know he won't receive it. I am also cleansing my home of all demonic things and want my home to be a house of the Lord but there's all these things in his room, Joseph Smith statues, Mormon paintings etc. Are these abominations to the Lord? I know I can't throw out his property but I take everything so seriously in serving him. I believe items can let the demonic in. There's so many questions I have. Do we leave this home? I have been there for my dad all my life, I love him dearly. My mom passed 30 years ago and I've spent all that time caring for him. He loves my girls and I don't know what to do. He is lying to them about me, lying to others about me, saying outrageous things like I'm stealing his money, I'm taking off and leaving my girls and just outrageous things. I don't know if this is dementia kicking in, or just Satan himself but it's horrible. I have lived my life to please him. I am a devoted mother who loves her girls more than anything, well next to the Lord of course. He has changed so much after receiving the jab too. I know some truths about that the Lord has revealed to me so not surprising. Any advice from my brothers and sisters in Christ would be greatly appreciated and valued. Thank you for your wonderful work Jessie. You have helped me so much. It's such a hard journey to break away. Anyone who is coming to the truth and the Mormon church, I advise you to do something that helped me, pray to the Father for forgiveness in being deceived and ask him to help you wipe out the memories if the false Christ you were taught so that you can fill your mind and heart with the true Biblical Jesus. He is the way the truth and the life! God bless you all!

being a christian is not always easy. the decisions you are placed with are not always so cut and dry. i think of abraham, who was raised in ur of the chaldees. he hated every minute of it. he hated good gods and bad gods and crockadile gods and turtle gods and river gods. but he could not leave because god had put the 10 commandments in his heart. he knew about the first commandment, but he also knew about honor thy father and thy mother. and he knew he owed his father deep love and respect. and that meant caring for him in his old age. so abraham stayed in the land of pagans and idol worshippers, and took care of his father until his father died. and then god made a way for him to leave the land of idol worshippers, and he went on to become the father of all the hebrews, the first father of moses and aaron and to all those who have the 10 commandments written in their heart. and in the end, there's nothing written that tells you not to speak up for what you know is right. there's also something written to remind you that you should honor your father. exactly what choices you make and what you do is a matter between you and god.

@@CMZIEBARTH the foundation of mormonism is that all the creeds of christianity are an abomination. when you study the old testament with the mormons they will always find ways to bring up their first founding doctrine that all the creeds of christianity are an abomination. when you get to the part where adam and eve bring sin into the world they will tell you that adam fell, but he fell upwards. they will add words and tell you that when adam heard the lie, "you will become gods" the serpent was not lying but he was telling the truth. and then the foundation of mormonism will be established, and you will always be looking for how the old testament was changed and lies put for truth. unless you can see there is only one god and you will not become a god, you will not be understanding the bible. when they asked jesus what the most important commandment is. he said , mark 12.29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: he was quoting the sh'ma. wiki sh'ma to find the most important commandment in all of judaism and christianity.

Hi! Thanks for making this awesome video. I'm a non-denominational Christian who doesn't know too much about Mormonism. All I've done up to this point was read Unveiling Grace by Lynn Wild and called it good. However, I have a friend who is reading through the Book of Mormon and meeting up with Mormon Missionaries. While he is a smart man, I felt like this was a challenge he shouldn't be walking alone. So now I'm reading through the book of Mormon. Haha While after reading through 1 Nephi I felt even more convinced that Mormonism was false, it was not to the depth that you explained here. I would've never thought about the importance of the Tribe of Aaron! I feel like I'm appreciating parts of my belief like never before. Keep up the good work!

Mark Twain, the Father of American Literature, was no fool. Search the internet and read his critique of the Book of Mormon. Twain quickly recognized it as fiction, referring to it as inferior literary, plagiarism from the King James Bible, and miraculous, that is, miraculous that Joe Smith did not fall asleep while writing it. Isn't it amazing that highly educated professors and scholars at BYU, a prestigious university, cannot see the scam that Mark Twain recognized quickly?

Only Levites that were from the lineage of Aaron were aloud to hold the priesthood this is fact. Also like Jessie said only ONE temple is was allowed, that HAD to be in Jerusalem according to the law, thats why when Daniel was in captivity, or whenever the children of Israel were in captivity they prayed towards Jerusalem, as they knew that was the place the Most High ordained as holy. That never changed throughout the BC period, and even christ said that he didn't come to change the law but to fulfil, meaning that he came not only as the lamb for mankind, but to stop the children of Israel abusing carnal sacrifices, so that without true love for the father and worship through the son no one could to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Hello Jessie, I really appreciate this video thank you! The question I have is what do you think about the contradictions, issues and discrepancies in the Bible? Some of them are the fact that no one knows who wrote the gospels. Yet we call them Mark, Matthew, Luke and John.
@fayelewis5476
@fayelewis5476 5 жыл бұрын
The early church unanimously held that the gospel of Matthew was the first written gospel and was penned by the apostle of the same name (Matt. 10:2-4). Lately, the priority of Matthew as the first written gospel has come under suspicion with Mark being considered by many to be the first written gospel. The debate is far from over. The historian Papias mentions that the gospel of Matthew was originally in Aramaic or Hebrew and attributes the gospel to Matthew the apostle.5 "Irenaeus (ca. A.D. 180) continued Papias's views about Matthew and Mark and added his belief that Luke, the follower of Paul, put down in a book the gospel preached by that apostle, and that John, the Beloved Disciple, published his Gospel while residing in Asia. By the time of Irenaeus, Acts was also linked with Luke, the companion of Paul."6 This would mean that if Matthew did write in Aramaic originally, that he may have used Mark as a map, adding and clarifying certain events as he remembered them. But, this is not known for sure. The earliest quotation of Matthew is found in Ignatius who died around A.D. 115 A.D. Therefore, Matthew was in circulation well before Ignatius came on the scene. The various dates most widely held as possible writing dates of the Gospel are between A.D. 40 - 140. But Ignatius died around A.D. 115, and he quoted Matthew. Therefore Matthew had to be written before he died. Nevertheless, it is generally believed that Matthew was written before A.D. 70 and as early as A.D. 50. Mark Mark was not an eyewitness to the events of Jesus' life. He was a disciple of Peter and undoubtedly it was Peter who informed Mark of the life of Christ and guided him in writing the Gospel known by his name. "Papias claimed that Mark, the Evangelist, who had never heard Christ, was the interpreter of Peter, and that he carefully gave an account of everything he remembered from the preaching of Peter."7 Generally, Mark is said to be the earliest gospel with an authorship of between A.D. 55 to A.D. 70. Luke Luke was not an eyewitness of the life of Christ. He was a companion of Paul who also was not an eyewitness of Christ's life. But, both had ample opportunity to meet the disciples who knew Christ and learn the facts not only from them but from others in the area. Some might consider this damaging to the validity of the gospel but quite the contrary. Luke was a gentile convert to Christianity who was interested in the facts. He obviously had interviewed the eyewitnesses and written the Gospel account as well as Acts. "The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when He was taken up, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen. To these He also presented Himself alive, after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God." (Acts 1:1-3). Notice how Luke speaks of "them," of those who had personal encounters with Christ. Luke is simply recounting the events from the disciples. Since Luke agrees with Matthew, Mark, and John and since there is no contradictory information coming from any of the disciples stating that Luke was inaccurate and since Luke has proven to be a very accurate historian, we can conclude that Luke's account is very accurate. As far as dating the gospel goes, Luke was written before the book of Acts and Acts does not mention "Nero's persecution of the Christians in A.D. 64 or the deaths of James (A.D. 62), Paul (A.D. 64), and Peter (A.D. 65)."8 Therefore, we can conclude that Luke was written before A.D. 62. "Luke's Gospel comes (Acts 1:1) before the Acts. The date of Acts is still in dispute, but the early date (about A.D. 63) is gaining support constantly."9 John The writer of the gospel of John was obviously an eyewitness of the events of Christ's life since he speaks from a perspective of having been there during many of the events of Jesus' ministry and displays a good knowledge of Israeli geography and customs. The John Rylands papyrus fragment 52 of John's gospel dated in the year 135 contains portions of John 18, verses 31-33, 37-38. This fragment was found in Egypt, and a considerable amount of time is needed for the circulation of the gospel before it reached Egypt. It is the last of the gospels and appears to have been written in the 80's to 90's. Of important note is the lack of mention of the destruction of the Jewish temple in A.D. 70. But this is understandable since John was not focusing on historical events. Instead, he focused on the theological aspect of the person of Christ and listed His miracles and words that affirmed Christ's deity. Though there is still some debate on the dates of when the gospels were written, they were most assuredly completed before the close of the first century and written by eyewitnesses or under the direction of eyewitnesses. carm.org/when-were-gospels-written-and-by-whom

Faye Lewis I appreciate all the details. Did Mark say that he got his source to write the gospel from Peter? Did Luke say he got his source from Paul? Because Luke clearly states how he was inspired to write his gospel in Luke 1:3. He claimed that he wrote his gospel based on what he heard. Matthew didn’t write the gospel according to Matthew. Read Mathew chapter 9 or just read Matthew 9:9.

 @@eismc2518 Perhaps you should read the book, 'Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus,' by Nabeel Qureshi. He went around the world seeking evidence for the validity of the Bible and the Quran. Mark's source was Peter, who was an eyewitness. Matthew is speaking in the third person here. Matthew 9:9 As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector’s booth; and He *said to him, “Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him. I don't think any of the gospels were written in the first person. Papias, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Eusebius, and Origen all affirm Matthean authorship. While Matthew did not sign his own name to “his” gospel, the early church uniformly attested to the apostle’s authorship of the book. As early as AD 140, a Christian named Papias wrote that Matthew had compiled the sayings of the Lord in Hebrew (presumably before Matthew translated them into Greek for a larger audience). Matthew’s name appears in all the biblical lists of the twelve apostles, though Mark and Luke refer to him as Levi. His history as a tax collector distinguished him from the other apostles, and immediately after his call to follow Jesus-an event he recorded in Matthew 9:9-Matthew hosted a feast for Jesus in his home with an invitation list made up of Matthew’s sinful friends. Apparently Matthew did not think it odd that Jesus and he would associate with the sinful and downtrodden of society.

@UCov5KvGSKx7dkZiBOagURfw All I know is that you have an appointment with death and an appointment with God. Jesus said the only way you will ever get into heaven is through Jesus Christ. Because God is just, He will punish sin-regardless of how well you keep the Five Pillars of Islam. As a Muslim, you long to reach paradise after you die. But as a sinner, how will you escape God’s judgment? You may think, “My faithfulness in keeping the Five Pillars may outweigh my sins. Hopefully, God will admit me to paradise.” You strive to keep the Five Pillars of Islam. Five times a day you kneel toward Mecca. The creed (shahada) often forms on your lips. You bring no bread or water to your mouth during the daylight of Ramadan. You are saving up money for the pilgrimage to Mecca and are freely giving alms to the poor. But still you question, “Is keeping the Five Pillars enough?” Your conscience convicts you of failing God’s standard of holiness. How could the holy God accept to paradise someone stained with even a little sin? Only one sin caused the first man’s downfall. Adam’s sin was not a “big sin” like adultery, murder, or blasphemy. By eating the forbidden fruit, Adam brought the curse of sin and death into the world. Shall we escape? We who have dishonored our parents, lied to our neighbors, or cheated our customers (Exodus 20)? We sin routinely by putting selfish interests ahead of loving God (Matthew 22:36-40). We proudly overlook or excuse our sins. But God does not overlook or excuse any sin. He will judge every thought, word, and deed (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Matthew 12:36; Revelation 20:12-15). God is a righteous Judge. Even on earth, a judge must punish sinners. A judge cannot pardon someone who has stolen just because the criminal claims to visit the mosque every Friday and fast during Ramadan. If sin goes unpunished, the law would be disregarded, and God would be dishonored. God is the just Judge and will not let sin go unpunished, regardless of how well you keep God’s laws or how many good deeds you do. Keeping the Five Pillars of Islam cannot get you to heaven. You are a sinner according to God’s Word (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8). The punishment for our sin is death-eternal death in hell. Our rightful home is hell. We need God’s mercy. But how can God be both merciful and just? The Bible explains how God’s mercy fits with His justice: “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in [God’s] sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it-the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe” (Romans 3:20-22a). Keeping the law cannot get us to heaven. Instead, the law reveals our sin. God’s justice requires eternal death in hell for sin, but His mercy provides eternal life in heaven through faith in Jesus. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). As the eternal Son of God, Jesus is one with God the Father. God sent His Son to earth to become man, but Jesus never ceased being God. Born by the power of the Holy Spirit to the virgin Mary, Jesus didn’t inherit Adam’s sin nature. Jesus is called the second Adam (1 Corinthians 15:22). While Adam’s one disobedience brought the curse of sin on the world, Jesus’ perfect life brings the hope of paradise to those who trust in Him. Jesus took the punishment for sin-death-by dying on the cross on behalf of believing sinners. Then, Jesus rose from the dead, showing He conquered sin and death. Don’t try to take care of sin on your own. Even keeping the Five Pillars of Islam, you will still fall short of God’s perfection. Turn from sin in repentance and turn to Jesus in faith (Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:21-31; Galatians 3:6-14). God forgives believing sinners and gives them eternal life in heaven. God may be working in your heart, showing you your sin and need for Jesus. Receive God’s gift of eternal life! Trust Jesus as your crucified Savior and follow Him as your resurrected Lord!

On the first point, you have taken the Moroni 8.8 verse out of context. It concerns the question of whether little children need to be baptized. It is not saying that little children have not inherited the disadvantages of mortality and fallen nature from Adam's Transgression. It is saying that they are not capable of committing sin in the sense of conscious deliberate transgression of a commandment of God. They have not reached the age at which God holds them responsible. They are whole in the sense that Christ has taken the condemnation from them. It may be what Paul was alluding to in Romans 7. 9 "I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died". When was Paul "alive once"? Surely it was before he reached the age of accountability and awareness of the commandment. As for Adam's fall that men might be, Prophet Joseph Fielding Smith wrote that, when Eve transgressed, Adam was faced with a dilemma. He and Eve were in such dissimilar states that they could not have children together. He then chose to join her for the sake of having children. LDS do view the Fall as having been anticipated by God (as do most Christians). They think it was because God's wisdom decided that a greater good could come from men being afflicted by evil and the disadvantages of mortal life and overcoming these things by learning to trust and obey God. As for by grace we are saved after all we can do, the context shows that all we can do is "believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God" (2 Nephi 25.23). God makes everyone capable of believing in Christ.

@@kellygreen3943 I can reassure you that I do trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only Savior. I am not LDS, but I have LDS friends, and I am concerned that Christians should be accurate in discussing LDS beliefs and the teaching of the Book of Mormon. There is a big difference between the BoM and later LDS doctrines as developed latterly by Joseph and Brigham Young. The BoM teachings on Jesus and salvation are very close to the Bible, whereas the Book of Abraham etc. constitute a radical change away from the original teaching of Father, Son and Holy Ghost as the one everlasting God. Many LDS people do have faith in Jesus Christ and His blood atonement, and resurrection, and in the Holy Spirit helping them to live a holy life, and other aspects of Christian truth. Not all are really knowledgeable of the very unbiblical later views of Smith and Young etc. They get by with a faith that is very close to the Bibllical one, although of course when they come to depend on secret temple rituals they are being led away from it, rather like the Galatian and Colossian Christians whom St Paul had to warn. I only appeal for Christians to deal factually, not misrepresent what the BoM teaches, and understand that many LDS have been brought up in that church to have a love for and trust in Jesus Christ. We must find a way to affirm the truths they hold about Jesus, while pointing out the very serious errors which were introduced after the BoM, when the uniqueness of Father Son and Holy Ghost as the only true and everlasting God was denied. I think witnessing to LDS people must be a very patient and loving work. I observe that some Christians attack LDS for holding doctrines which some true Christians hold, for example, Calvinists condemn them for rejecting their double predestination doctrine and antinomianism. Much of early LDS doctrine on faith and holiness is akin to Wesleyanism, which is why it attracted a lot of early converts.

You don't have faith in God. You can't abandon something you don't have. You worship an exalted man. It's called idolatry. "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s . . . " (D&C 130:22). The true and living God the Father was never once a man. He is an uncreated being. The true and living God has always existed. He is the first, uncaused cause of everything you see. He lives outside of time, space and matter because He created time, space and matter. He is self-existent. He has no mother or father, does not need air, food, water, sex, sleep, shelter, clothing, etc.. He is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, transcendent, infinitely holy, eternal and so much more. The highest heavens cannot contain Him. The true and living God created Adam out of the dust of the ground. No wife needed. No pre existence. Why don't you worship the true and living God?

Amen. ****** Having the “image” or “likeness” of God means, in the simplest terms, that we were made to resemble God. Adam did not resemble God in the sense of God’s having flesh and blood. Scripture says that “God is spirit” (John 4:24) and therefore exists without a body. However, Adam’s body did mirror the life of God insofar as it was created in perfect health and was not subject to death. The image of God (Latin: imago dei) refers to the immaterial part of humanity. It sets human beings apart from the animal world, fits them for the dominion God intended them to have over the earth (Genesis 1:28), and enables them to commune with their Maker. It is a likeness mentally, morally, and socially.

Exodus 19:5-6 explains her misunderstanding about how Lehi could have had the priesthood. In speaking to all of the tribes of Israel the Lord says that He would that they all be a nation of Priest, and not just the Levites. The Levites were also only given the Aaronic priesthood, which facilitated their authority to perform ordinances. but we know that some if not all of the prophets throughout the Bible were given the Melchizedek priesthood. this is a higher priesthood, but did not disallow for the performing of ordinances. Melchizedek Himself offered sacrifices in Gen 14. Alma 5:44, 13:1-18, 43:1-2, and 2 Nephi 6:2 all explain that the priesthood which Lehi had was in fact the Melchizedek priesthood, or the priesthood after the holy order of God (Heb. 7:8-25). Aaronic priests are called according to the lesser law of Moses, while the Melchizedek Priests are called according to the higher law of Christ. That was a simple enough point to debunk, the rest may take much more to explain. It's easy to cite two passages and then explain how you think they contradict each other, but much more involving to explain their full context, and doctrines. hence why so many flock to these garbage videos because they think they war getting truth from the shallow and uninspired rhetoric of uneducated people, and since it takes far more to undo the damage then to do the damage in the first place, many don't even bother debunking this crap. it is no wonder that the Lord hides His plain and precious truths in parables and stories and requires actual study and searching to find answers to important questions, because the swine and dogs do nothing but destroy and mock the pearls of His truths.

@tadgriffin1977
@tadgriffin1977 4 жыл бұрын
@Avenged- Sevenfold Well, I am still confused about your “dodge this” comment as I see nothing in your remarks that would require “dodging”. What I do see in your comment is some faulty assumptions stacked on top of incorrect presuppositions. For starters the prophet Joseph Smith did NOT, I repeat, did NOT make any changes or revisions to the King James Version of the Bible in the way you have claimed in your comment. Your understanding of the issues at hand has been victimized by critics who always try to spin things in the worst possible ways rather than providing genuine understanding of the issues at hand. The King James Version(KJV) of the Bible that LDS Christians use is EXACTLY the same as the KJV of the Bible that sectarian Christians use. Your comments make it sound like the KJV of the Bible that LDS Christians use is somehow different from the KJV of the Bible that creedal Christians use- when that is just not the case at all. What the Prophet Joseph Smith did do is use the KJV of the Bible as a springboard to form what is referred to as the “Joseph Smith Translation” (Referred to here on as JST). The JST is not canonized Scripture for Latter-day Saints, JST Genesis 1-6 and Mathew 24, which are both found in The Pearl of Great Price excepted. The JST is not the LDS version of the Bible. The King James Version of the Bible is- and it always has been. It is the KJV of the Bible that is part of our official canon of Scripture or what is sometimes referred to as “The Standard Works” of the Church including the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. So where does the JST fit in? In 1828 the word “translation” had a much broader meaning than it does today. The Joseph Smith “Translation” should be understood as supplemental to our canon of Scripture and contains a variety of elements such as additional revelation, alternate readings, prophetic commentary or midrash, harmonization, clarification and corrections OF the original as well as corrections TO the original. It is not my understanding that non-LDS Christians believe that EVERY passage of scripture has only one specific precise correct meaning identically applied in all contexts. Such a straightjacketed approach would be absurd. The Prophet Joseph Smith often saw more than one meaning in a passage and brought many of these explicitly to our attention by means of the JST. However, the existence of a JST variant reading for a passage ought NOT to imply that the KJV is “incorrect” in the purest sense of the term, since the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants sometimes agree with the KJV rather than the JST. We simply require a more mature, sophisticated and enlightened understanding to grasp the Prophets intent with the JST than is ever provided by critics of the Church- or what we see in your pseudo-confident comment that somehow requires “dodging”. Of course we as LDS Christians believe the JST is “inspired”, but that is not the same thing as saying it always restores the original “texts” of the biblical books. There is more going on here than that. By the way, if the Prophet Joseph Smith wanted to change or rewrite Scripture he certainly could have as Biblical prophets often changed or rewrote Scripture- but that is not the Prophets core concern or issue with the JST. As LDS Christians we are not obsessed with “text” in the way our fellow evangelical brothers and sisters are. As LDS Christians we are not bound by “sola-scriptura”- nor do we adhere to an “inerrant” view of Scripture as many Evangelicals are famous for. We see these approaches as being what largely well intended men do when they are without access to living oracles of God. What matters for LDS Christians and for Joseph Smith as well as all biblical prophets is not the text itself but the pure revelation that is driving the text. This is a key difference. LDS Christians sometimes get the impression that if Evanglicals Christians believed there really was a true Prophet of God on the earth today that they would sort of hover around the Prophet waiting for him to write something down. Then when the Prophet did write something down they would take the text and run off with it to some secluded spot to hyper-analyze and study the “text” instead of just talking to the living oracle of God himself. The term “bibliodolatry” comes to mind here. On this matter Stephen E. Robinson in “How Wide the Divide: A Mormon and an Evangelical in Conversation” (A fair starter book for Evangelicals honestly seeking to understand the LDS Christian position by the way) says the following: ---- ---- ----- ----- ----- “Scripture is mediated revelation, derivative revelation. The direct revelation to a prophet or an apostle is immediate and primary, and this is the word of God in the purest sense- as “word” and “hearing” rather than as “text”. However, the recording, transmission and interpretation of the word depends on fallible human beings, using the fallible human tools of reason and language. Thus, Scripture is the word of God for Latter-day Saints, “as far as it is translated correctly.” For Latter-day Saints, the church’s guarantee of doctrinal correctness lies primarily in the living prophet, and only secondarily in the preservation of the written text. This is, after all, the New Testament model. The ancient apostles and prophets themselves were the “primary” oracles. What makes Scripture normative is not anything that may have happened to the text as text, but rather that it records what “holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Pet 1:20-21). In other words, what makes Scripture “theopneustos” (“inspired” or “God breathed”) is not its “written” character but its “revealed” character. Writing it down preserves the inspired revelation and makes it accessible to the wider church, but that is secondary to the original revelation itself. The “record” of revelation cannot logically be more authoritative that the “experience” of revelation. There would have been no Scripture in the first place had not God revealed his word, person-to-person, to a living, breathing human being. And it is the continued presence of the one who received the revelation in the first place, or his inspired successors (prophets in the Old Testament, apostles in the New), that ensures the written word will be interpreted and applied correctly to new contexts. THIS IS THE BIBLICAL PATTERN.” ---- ---- ----- ----- ----- To sum up... when the issues are better understood than how you have presented them your question is difficult to take seriously as holding any real weight. The Restored Gospel is beautiful and true… and i am grateful for living Apostles on the earth today and for the Prophet Joseph Smith and his contribution to this great work in these the latter-days.

What we need to know and believe: WHY WE NEED A SAVIOR: Rom. 3:10-28 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things so ever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Rom. 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:]

I appreciate your kindness! My next video is about the LGBT ban that was lifted in the General Conference and many other changes your church is going through under the name of "revelation." Although Mormons believe they follow the same God and Jesus that Christians do, it is simply not the case. We are not sisters in Christ, I'm afraid. That breaks my heart. But we can be if you would only open your eyes and come to know the one and only true God of the Bible. The Jesus of the Bible is the only One who can save your soul. The false Jesus of the LDS church is Lucifer's older brother and not the eternal God. The Heavenly Father of the Bible is not the God of the Bible or of Moroni 8:18 or 2 Nephi 31:21 but is the god of Joseph Smith's King Follett Discourse where Joseph declared that supposing God was God of all eternity was false.. he said he would take away the veil so you can see.. God was once a man just like us who was exalted into godhood.. we too have to learn to become gods ourselves. Blasphemy. That is the false Mormon god, in an infinity of plural gods.. completely contradicting the Bible and blaspheming the one true God. Russell Nelson is not a prophet. He is a business man. I pray that you will read the New Testament of the Bible (not the LDS Bible that gives commentary on the Bible so you will read it with the false message they teach) but the raw, true Word of God that will show you so clearly who Jesus is and what Biblical Salvation is. The LDS "plan of Salvation" is in total contradiction to the Bible as well. No, not every soul is "saved" (meaning resurrected) as a result of the atonement. Salvation is ONLY for those who place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for Salvation and we are saved through FAITH. Ephesians 2:8-9. All others will go to Hell. I will pray right now that you will come to know God and will get truly (Biblically) saved. Mormonism won't save you, my friend. It is a lie.

Great video, I agree totally except for point no.4. You are wrong on faith alone. James 2:24 Do you see that a man is justified by means of works, and not by faith alone. Galatians 6:9 And so, let us not be deficient in doing good. For in due time, we shall reap without fail. ("Doing" good, that's more than faith , that's works) Matthew 12:37 For by your words shall you be justified, and by your words shall you be condemned." ("Words" is talking, thats something you do, that is works) Matthew 12:36 But I say to you, that for every idle word which men will have spoken, they shall render an account in the day of judgment. we both agree faith without works is dead. what are those works? if you read the entire book of james, you will see chapter 2. 25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? rachel was a prostitute. james uses the word EVEN a prostitute to emphasize her depraved sin filled life. yet she is called righteous. the book of james was written to people who are thoroughly convicted of their sin nature and need for the grace of god to save them from hell. you can't take one verse out of the bible out of context, that's what you do when you quote "faith without works is dead" out of context. you know that, so why do you mormons do it so often? you render the whole book unintelligible when you take one verse out of context to support your cult fantasy. the real belief of mormonism is the 2nd article of faith. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression. you don't believe that all your works are tainted by sin and your sin nature. you don't even believe you have a sin nature. you believe you will become a god by constantly choosing the right. you don't believe in a sin nature, and you have no need for jesus to save you by grace. james was a brother of jesus and he accepted jesus and was fully relliant upon the mercy of jesus. you mormons have written the grace of god out of the bible entirely, that's why you quote scripture out of context. it's because you don't believe it.

Too many Evangelicals skip over this bc they don’t actually have the Holy Spirit and want to stay in step with their sins instead. 2 Thes 2 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, James 2:24 is very disconcerting. There are 112 verses in the christian Bible that teach faith alone. But, here we have one verse that seems to contradict the other 112. So, what do we do here? Do we throw away the 112 verses, or do we seriously and meticulously study the reason for this seemingly glaring contradiction? Or, do we build an entire religion (such as mormonism and jehova witnesses) around this one verse. In the Book of James, notice that James refers to those he is speaking to as "brethen". Brethen is Greek for "christian brothers". On 5 occasions, James refers to the people he is addressing as "brethren". These people James is addressing are already christian brothers, people who have already believed in the death, burial, and ressurection of Christ, by which they are already saved. (1 Cor 15: 1-4). Now, that they are saved, they are expected to be effective christians and do good works.

Hi Glen! Well, Biblical authority. For example, I attend a Bible Church which is nondenominational and my pastor preaches straight from the Word of God. He often tells the congregation that if he preaches anything that contradicts the Bible, we need to call him out on it. He knows that he is held accountable--even to a higher level than most--as a pastor and he cares about accurately sharing the message of the Gospel. I do believe that Baptist churches have solid doctrine as well. I grew up Baptist and I loved it. I do see a legalistic tendency in *some* Baptist churches which I believe *can* go a little too far. This is me being very honest and transparent. I believe in morality, modesty and hold to extremely conservative values, etc... so I don't want to take away from that by mentioning "legalism." But anyway.. a solid, Bible-believing church is one that doesn't obsess over or cling to a specific denomination or title and make that the focus but rather, it holds true to it's teaching of the Bible--accurately and effectively and carefully. What are your thoughts?
@glenobryant3035
@glenobryant3035 5 жыл бұрын
@@itsmejessie Hi, great I am with you about the nondenominational church, and in Titus 1 I read that a church is lacking if they haven't appointed Elders, in 1 Peter 5 I see that Elders should shepherd the flock ( church / GOD's children ), then in 1 Timothy 3 discusses the qualification of the leaders of the church" Yes, I know that not all congregations have members that are qualified, so a steering committee is a good practice", I agree also that a preacher should be checked for accuracy of his teaching. You mentioned legalist tendencies, well if I have to stand before the righteous judge in my last day, I want to make sure I have taught and done the will of GOD, because in Matthew 7: 21 says that not everyone will enter the kingdom, but he who does the will of the Father in Heaven, now in Luke 7:30 I see that the Pharisees and Lawyers rejected the will of GOD by not being baptized, "I think through out the new testament Jesus stated for us to not be like them". Then in Matthew 7:22 these people must have had the Holy Spirit, based on the things they did in Jesus name, but in verse 23 they were sent away. WOW, that scares me. I don't agree with the Baptist / Calvinist doctrine, one of the points you touched on is that a child is born in sin. In Matthew 19:14, Mark 10:14 and Luke 18:16, Jesus said that they are the Kingdom of Heaven, "I don't think sin will make it to Heaven, if so I wouldn't have to do anything". Then in Mark 9:37 by receiving a child you will be receiving Jesus and GOD. In Ezekiel 18:20, says the son doesn't bear the sins of the father, and further on it states that the soul that sins will be held guilty. I know you are doing a great work helping people get away from an occult, thank you, you're doing a great job and you are well studied. … sorry it took so long to reply, KZfaq kept failing when I tried.

Some of these points were good others were sort of weak: 1. Little children cannot sin. 2. Adam and Eve's sin. 3. Black skin = curse. 4. Saved after all we can do. 5. Plain and precious truths lost. 6. Darkness over the earth. 7. No Levite priests. 8. Many High Priests. 9. Multiple temples. 10. Old Testament worship references missing. #1 This one was pretty weak in my opinion first because the counter Bible verse comes from Psalms which were written by King David. We don't know that his opinion is necessarily accurate. Similar to how Paul gives his opinion on some things, but makes sure to point out when he is quoting the Lord. But even setting that aside, the Moroni 8:8 is given in the context of Christ having already come and that children are made whole through Christ. The Old Testament reference isn't comparable because it comes from before Christ. #2 This one doesn't seem like a contradiction and more like the Book of Mormon filling in missing information. As you said "there is no biblical support" for this position, but that doesn't make it a contradiction. #3 The Bible contains reference to someone's skin becoming black as a result of being cursed. Job 30:30. The Bible also contains plenty accounts of favoritism especially in the Old Testament. #4 Yeah, this one is pretty weird. #5 The Bible as a whole has survived relatively intact since it was completed. I think the bigger problem lies in the compilation process of the Bible. Highly regarded books during the time of Christ, such as the Book of Enoch(which is quoted in the New Testament), did not make it into the canon of most Bibles. Meanwhile we also have the addition of such stories as the woman taken in adultery, which is not present in the original texts. This passage from the Book of Mormon text would be more accurate if it was understood to mean texts left out of the Bible during the compilation process rather than truths lost from the Bible after it was completed. Though the masoretic and Septuagint derived texts are not without their errors. #6 This one is pretty weak. We have multiple times when there are other examples of when the phrase "whole earth" is used to mean the region round about. For example Exodus 10:15. #7 - #10 These ones are the strongest points in my opinion.

Basically, I just don't trust Born Again Christians (It's Me Jessie) to have the full gospel of Jesus Christ because they only represent one of hundreds of types of denominations all divided with different versions of baptism and probably different doctrines. All they share in common is a bible. Maybe they all interpret the bible more consistently with each other than Latter-Day Saints, but it's not convincing because they're all still divided and furthermore, and most importantly, It's Me Jessie never talks about the still small voice or inspiration she might/may receive from Holy Ghost (the Comforter) or personal revelation. She doesn't care about it.

@Avenged- Sevenfold Isn't that like asking why do you need Noah's consent to get into heaven or be safe by entering the ark before the flood? Why did Moses's people need Moses to escape slavery and cross the Red Sea? Is it because prophets like Moses and Noah came before Jesus Christ? But Joseph Smith can't be a modern "Noah" or "Moses" because he came along 1800 years after Christ? Is this an issue of chronologically who came before or after Jesus Christ? The Holy Ghost is meant to be personal proof. I can't transfer my own experiences of being influenced by the Holy Ghost onto you, but it's possible that by me saying something to you, that you could feel the influence of the Holy Ghost from something I said. Also, Latter-Day Saints believe that except for Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith made the second greatest contribution to the salvation of souls after Jesus Christ. That doesn't mean it had to have been Joseph Smith, it just happened to be him. And he just followed instructions from Jesus Christ, so you could say it was only Jesus Christ and not Joseph Smith if you wanted. This is what's implied by temple building and temple work besides missionaries and missionary work. As far as tangible proof, I would watch Hidden in Heartland. There are 7 episodes and I've seen them on Prime video. Wayne May and Rod Meldrum know what they're talking about.

What does the Bible teach about a newborn child or baby? 1. They know nothing in their childhood state (Deuteronomy 1:39). 2. There is a stage when children do not know the good or the bad (Isa 7:16). 3. Of children is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18: 1-5). 4. But Jesus said: Let the children come to me, and do not stop them; for such is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 19: 13-15).

@@TheChrishendrix Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. Faith comes from God ultimately. It is a gift he gives to us. All throughout the Bible God gives tangible ways to know if something is the word of God or someone is sent by God. Such as testing the prophets and spirits, and searching the scriptures if something is true. Paul encourages the people to search the scriptures to know if Jesus was the Messiah. He even praises them for doing so. This is just one example. The tests of a prophet include fulfilled prophecy. Even one false prophecy excludes him and he is not to be listened to. A prophet has to uphold what previous prophets have said. He cannot lead you after any other gods. And many more... Paul preached (and repeated) that if any man or angel preached another gospel then let him be accursed. He warned of false prophets and false Christs. Jesus gave us another test: "You shall know them by their fruits." A good tree cannot produce bad fruit. God always always always gives us simple (and intellectual) tests to know if something is true. Not once in the whole Bible does he say to pray for a good feeling. He actually says that the heart is deceitful above all things. Feelings are subjective and can lead you astray. In terms of the Book of Mormon, rather than praying about it one should search the Bible (what God has already revealed) and see if they match up. And also to put Joseph Smith to the test. Did he produce good or bad fruit? Did all of this prophecies come true? Did he preach the same Christ? Did he lead people after a false god? Etc. After all, shouldn't you bet your soul on something more than Joseph's word and good feelings?

You havedone a very good job comparing Mormonism to sacred Scripture. However, in your own statement of faith you stated that you believe you are saved by faith ALONE. Aside from the fact that Martin Luther literally added the word "Alone" to the text of Romans 1;17. Changing the text from the origional Greek "The just shall live by faith" to the Lutheran version "The just shall live by faith alone". Quite a significant difference. (I do speak German, and this addition is present in my own Luther translation.) This is in stark opposition to the Teachings of James, and Peter. Which lead me to wonder if anything I believed was actually germain to the origional yeachings of Our Lord himself. I now believe that we should not just compare our beliefs merely to scripture, but actually ascertain that what our beliefs are, are in accordance with the actual beliefs of the Apostles themselves. ALONG with making sure that these things are also origional to the direct teachings of Christ Himself. I no longer affirm my beliefs to "The Bible " but rather I look to the Bible to check what i believe against what it's Spirit led Authors also believed. This methodology clears up a lot of confusion. It also sent me to a place which I didnt really want to go, but i was left with no other choice.

I'm not trying to be argumentative here. But just because someone who we trust tells us something doesnt make it so. I was born and raised Seventh Day Adventist. Everybody i knew taught me Adventist doctrine. But it is at least as heretical as Mormonism. Learning of their lies i jumped right into Calvinism Southern Baptist to be exact. But there were so many things i read in scripture which i still couldnt wiggle out of. For instance 1Timothy 2;15. Please explain THAT one away. I never could. But the one thing you simply cannot deny once you study the subject, is the death and resurrection of Jesus. Upon that we stand. And our lives are changed by it. This effects a change of heart which demands that we act upon it. Works again. (But not works of the Jewish law)

I was really surprised and shocked by your teaching/s with respect to contradiction between the Bible and the Book of Mormon. You cited Psalm 51:5 and obviously this is about the sin nature of humanity! Every human being has a sinful desire arising from the sin of nature. However, this sin of nature or original sin had already taken by Jesus Christ through His atoning sacrifice. (Rom. 6: 3-9) We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression. Thus, Moroni 8:8 is a resoundingly sound doctrine. We do not baptize little children who are incapable of sinning. Listen to the words of Christ, your Redeemer, your Lord and your God. Behold, I came into the world not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance; the whole need no physician, but they that are sick; wherefore, little children are whole, for they are not capable of committing sin; wherefore the curse of Adam is taken from them in me, that it has no power over them; and the law of circumcision is done away in me. (Moroni 8:8) Question: Do you baptize little children say a 1 yr old child? Suppose a 1 yr old child is not baptized will he go to hell for his failure to receive baptism? Common! There is no contradiction between the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Please allow me to tell you that the Book of Mormon does NOT supplant nor replace the Bible but rather it supports and reinforces the Bible. That's why the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Here are more contradictions. 1. The Book of Mormon people are said to have observed "all things according to the law of Moses (2 Nephi 5:10; 25:24). However, although they are supposed to have been Hebrews, they were descendents of the tribe of Joseph (1 Nephi 5:17) or Manasseh (Alma 10:3), not the tribe of Levi and family line of Aaron, as the Law of Moses dictates (Numbers 3:10; Exodus 29:9; Numbers 18:1-7), so they would not have had a legitimate priesthood. 2. According to the Book of Mormon, there were many high priests serving at the same time (Mosiah 11:11; Alma 13:9-10; 46:6,38; Helaman 3:25) in the New World, among those it describes as Jewish immigrants from ancient Israel who "kept the law of Moses" (e.g., 2 Nephi 25:10; Jacob 4:5; Jarom 1:5). In contrast, it is clear from the Bible that only one individual at a time occupied the office of high priest under the Old Testament dispensation (see, for example Leviticus 21:10; Matthew 26:3; Hebrews 8:6-7). 3. The people described in the Book of Mormon operated multiple temples (Alma 16:13; 23:2; 26:29). This violates the dictates of the Old Testament Scriptures on two counts: First, God commanded Israel to build only one temple to reflect that fact that there is only one true God (Deuteronomy 12:5,13-14; 16:5-6). Second, the one legitimate temple was to be built in Jerusalem (Zion), the location designated by God (The Old Testament is filled with explicit references to God choosing Jerusalem [Zion] as the place where "His name would dwell" in the temple: for example, 1 Kings 8:44,48; 11:13,32,36; 14:21; 2 Kings 21:7; 23:27; 1 Chronicles 28:4; 2 Chronicles 6:6; 7:12,16; Psalm 78:68-69; Isaiah 18:7. 4. The Book of Mormon teaches that black skin is a sign of God’s curse, so that white-skinned people are considered morally and spiritually superior to black skinned people (2 Nephi 5:21). In contrast, the Bible teaches that God "made of one blood all nations of men" (Acts 17:26, KJV), that in Christ distinctions of ethnicity, gender and social class are erased (Galatians 3:28), and that God condemns favoritism (James 2:1). There is no record that Joseph Smith ever received the Melchizedek Priesthood. The promise to confer upon Joseph and Oliver the Melchisedek Priesthood was fulfilled; but as there is no definite account of the event in the history of the Prophet Joseph, or, for matter of that, in any of our annals. Just another great contradiction For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it- the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. I am curious as to the protestant viewpoint on God’s plan for Adam and Eve and the fall. I don’t see any contradiction between the Book of Mormon and the Bible on this matter (unless there is a fundamentally different biblical interpretation that I don’t comprehend among mainstream Christianity). As we look in the account in Genesis we learn a few things and are left in the dark on other things. Genesis 1: 27-28 states that God creates Adam and Eve and commands them to multiply and replenish the earth. The next commandment that is given is found in Genesis 2: 16-17 where God commands them not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We have no idea how long Adam and Eve were in the garden before they partook of the forbidden fruit, but we do know that they did not have any children until after they were cast out of the garden. Genesis 3:7 states that Adam and Eve didn’t even know they were naked until after they partook of the fruit. It appears to me that we can infer that they lacked the knowledge of how to procreate due to the fact that the only reference to procreation is found after they are cast out of the garden. Next, in Genesis 3: 22-24 God places Cheribum and a flaming sword so that Adam and Eve will not then partake of the tree of life. The Mormon perspective is that this was all planned by God in order to bring about the great plan of happiness. Yes, Adam and Eve (and mankind in general) will suffer as a consequence of their sins (the Book of Mormon says that “wickedness never was happiness”) but that a Savior (Jesus Christ) would be provided for them which paves the way to redemption and happiness. Ms. Jesse clearly misinterprets (either intentionally or unintentionally) what 2 Nephi chapter 2 states. I will share the passage shortly so we can see the context that is left out in this video. Anyhow, here are some points to consider (I would appreciate a protestant explanation if it differs from said points): 1. God is all knowing and all powerful. 2. God has a plan for this world. 3. God’s plan cannot be frustrated either by man or by Satan. 4. If God wanted Adam and Eve and all of humanity to live innocently in the garden of Eden from the beginning and always, then it would have happened. God did not have a plan A that got thrown under the bus because of a decision made by Adam and Eve, influenced by Satan, and as a result had to go to plan B. Do you really believe that Satan and/or man have power over God’s plans? 5. Proof of point #4: God could have chosen not to plant the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God could have chosen not to allow Satan into the Garden of Eden. God could have chosen not to allow mankind free will. Yet he allowed all of these things. The question is why? You see that after they partake of the fruit, God makes it impossible for them to partake of the tree of life. He could have done the same on any or all of the other three points. It is obvious that this was all part of God’s plan. If you claim that it was not part of the plan for Adam and Eve to rebel, then you are admitting that God’s plans can wrecked. This does not fit with description of an all powerful, all knowing God. 6. God, being all knowing, knew exactly what would happen in the Garden of Eden. He did not create mankind to be miserable. If he created mankind to be miserable then why provide a Savior for them? 7. God provides a Savior (Jesus Christ) for mankind as part of his plan that he has had all along. As such, this is the plan of happiness. Hence, “Adam fell that men might be” (its obvious they were not having kids in the garden), “and men are, that they might have joy” (God sends us his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ so that we may overcome sin and have joy in Christ both in this life and in eternity). 8. God has endowed man with free will (and why he placed the tree of knowledge in the garden and allowed Satan to be there to tempt and try man). Freedom to choose for themselves good or evil and has provided consequences for sin but also deliverance from sin through Jesus Christ. 9. If one believes that we were not created to have joy, then one has a really dark view of God. The Mormon position is that God is a God of love and of joy and of happiness. I believe that the Bible supports this and that the Book of Mormon supports this and that there is not any contradiction at all. If there is a contradiction, it is a protestant belief that either God is not all knowing and all powerful and/or that God is not a God of love and joy and happiness (I don’t think that that is the protestant position… either there is no contradiction or there is some protestant explanation that I am not familiar with, which I am happy to learn about if you would like to share). Finally, let’s read 2 Nephi chapter 2 in context (context is important and seems to be lacking throughout the list that has been shared in the video). You may discover that you actually agree with what is written in the Book of Mormon. If not, I think you have some explaining to do: 14 And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon. 15 And to bring about his eternal purposes in the end of man, after he had created our first parents, and the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and in fine, all things which are created, it must needs be that there was an opposition; even the forbidden fruit in opposition to the tree of life; the one being sweet and the other bitter. 16 Wherefore, the Lord God gave unto man that he should act for himself. Wherefore, man could not act for himself save it should be that he was enticed by the one or the other. 17 And I, Lehi, according to the things which I have read, must needs suppose that an angel of God, according to that which is written, had fallen from heaven; wherefore, he became a devil, having sought that which was evil before God. 18 And because he had fallen from heaven, and had become miserable forever, he sought also the misery of all mankind. Wherefore, he said unto Eve, yea, even that old serpent, who is the devil, who is the father of all lies, wherefore he said: Partake of the forbidden fruit, and ye shall not die, but ye shall be as God, knowing good and evil. 19 And after Adam and Eve had partaken of the forbidden fruit they were driven out of the garden of Eden, to till the earth. 20 And they have brought forth children; yea, even the family of all the earth. 21 And the days of the children of amen were prolonged, according to the will of God, that they might repent while in the flesh; wherefore, their state became a state of probation, and their time was lengthened, according to the commandments which the Lord God gave unto the children of men. For he gave commandment that all men must repent; for he showed unto all men that they were lost, because of the transgression of their parents. 22 And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remained forever, and had no end. 23 And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin. 24 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things. 25 Adam fell that men might be; and men care, that they might have joy. 26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given. 27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and call things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

How/Why do you infer that Adam and Eve could not have had children? The Book of Mormon teaches that the disobedience of Adam and Eve in eating the forbidden fruit was necessary so that they could have children and bring joy to mankind (2 Nephi 2:23-25). In contrast, the Bible specifically declares that Adam’s transgression was a sinful act of rebellion that unleashed the power of sin and death in the human heart and throughout God’s perfect world (Genesis 3:16-19; Romans 5:12; 8:20-21). There is no Biblical support for the view that Adam and Eve could only fulfill the command to "be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28) by disobeying God’s command regarding the forbidden fruit (Genesis 2:17). The Book of Mormon teaching that these divine commands are contradictory, and that God expected Adam and Eve to figure out that in reality He wanted them to break the latter command ("of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it") in order to keep the former ("be fruitful and multiply"), has no basis in logic or the Biblical text, and attributes equivocation to God.

Interestingly, the words 'free will' are not in the Bible. The highest ethic is love. God wants everyone to love Him with all their heart, soul and mind. In order for love to flourish, there must be 'free will.' Imagine God forcing everyone to love him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength whether they want to or not? In order for that to take place, God has given mankind a choice.

2 Nephi 2:14 states that there is one God. 14 And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon. Why does the Book of Abraham state that there are many Gods? Pearl of Great Price Book of Abraham - Chapters 4 & 5 Chapter 4 1 AND then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth, after it was formed, was empty and desolate, because they had not formed anything but the earth; and darkness reigned upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the Gods was brooding upon the face of the waters. 3 And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light; and there was light. 4 And they (the Gods) comprehended the light, for it was bright; and they divided the light, or caused it to be divided, from the darkness. 5 And the Gods called the light Day, and the darkness they called Night. And it came to pass that from the evening until morning they called night; and from the morning until the evening they called day; and this was the first, or the beginning, of that which they called day and night. 6 And the Gods also said: Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and it shall divide the waters from the waters. 7 And the Gods ordered the expanse, so that it divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so, even as they ordered. 8 And the Gods called the expanse, Heaven. And it came to pass that it was from evening until morning that they called night; and it came to pass that it was from morning until evening that they called day; and this was the second time that they called night and day. 9 And the Gods ordered, saying: Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the earth come up dry; and it was so as they ordered; 10 And the Gods pronounced the dry land, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, pronounced they, Great Waters; and the Gods saw that they were obeyed. 11 And the Gods said: Let us prepare the earth to bring forth grass; the herb yielding seed; the fruit tree yielding fruit, after his kind, whose seed in itself yieldeth its own likeness upon the earth; and it was so, even as they ordered. 12 And the Gods organized the earth to bring forth grass from its own seed, and the herb to bring forth herb from its own seed, yielding seed after his kind; and the earth to bring forth the tree from its own seed, yielding fruit, whose seed could only bring forth the same in itself, after his kind; and the Gods saw that they were obeyed. 13 And it came to pass that they numbered the days; from the evening until the morning they called night; and it came to pass, from the morning until the evening they called day; and it was the third time. 14 And the Gods organized the lights in the expanse of the heaven, and caused them to divide the day from the night; and organized them to be for signs and for seasons, and for days and for years; 15 And organized them to be for lights in the expanse of the heaven to give light upon the earth; and it was so. 16 And the Gods organized the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; with the lesser light they set the stars also; 17 And the Gods set them in the expanse of the heavens, to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to cause to divide the light from the darkness. 18 And the Gods watched those things which they had ordered until they obeyed. 19 And it came to pass that it was from evening until morning that it was night; and it came to pass that it was from morning until evening that it was day; and it was the fourth time. 20 And the Gods said: Let us prepare the waters to bring forth abundantly the moving creatures that have life; and the fowl, that they may fly above the earth in the open expanse of heaven. 21 And the Gods prepared the waters that they might bring forth great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters were to bring forth abundantly after their kind; and every winged fowl after their kind. And the Gods saw that they would be obeyed, and that their plan was good. 22 And the Gods said: We will bless them, and cause them to be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas or great waters; and cause the fowl to multiply in the earth. 23 And it came to pass that it was from evening until morning that they called night; and it came to pass that it was from morning until evening that they called day; and it was the fifth time. 24 And the Gods prepared the earth to bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so, as they had said. 25 And the Gods organized the earth to bring forth the beasts after their kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after its kind; and the Gods saw they would obey. 26 And the Gods took counsel among themselves and said: Let us go down and form man in our image, after our likeness; and we will give them dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So the Gods went down to organize man in their own image, in the image of the Gods to form they him, male and female to form they them. 28 And the Gods said: We will bless them. And the Gods said: We will cause them to be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and to have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And the Gods said: Behold, we will give them every herb bearing seed that shall come upon the face of all the earth, and every tree which shall have fruit upon it; yea, the fruit of the tree yielding seed to them we will give it; it shall be for their meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, behold, we will give them life, and also we will give to them every green herb for meat, and all these things shall be thus organized. 31 And the Gods said: We will do everything that we have said, and organize them; and behold, they shall be very obedient. And it came to pass that it was from evening until morning they called night; and it came to pass that it was from morning until evening that they called day; and they numbered the sixth time.

Point #1 - Someone can commit a wrong action and still not be accountable to God for it as sin. Someone not understanding this point does not make The Book of Mormon incorrect.
