How to control weeds in my clover plot? Million dollar question right? We find so many mistakes with our consulting company when working various properties across the range of Whitetail Deer. One we see often in the overuse of herbicides and "Must Kill Management." Thanks for sharing. I just planted clover grass seed in my backyard instead of the traditional Kentucky lawn. What herbicide can I buy to use to kill weeds in my newly planted Clover lawn?

I mow my clover plot once a month in the summer.. It doesn't stop the weeds, i have used Arrest Max and that doesnt kill the weeds. I have resorted to picking / pulling weed roots ... I havent spot treated with glyphosate yet but its a great idea. Its November 29th in the Northeast and the deer are still in my clover..

Nate L depends on where you’re at in the country. If summer is severe it’s probably not a good option. Also depends on the soil type

Broadcast 200lbs wheat or rye with 10lbs tillage radish per half acre. Then mow in late july early August. Only 30 to 50% will sprout.

Depends on how thick the clover is. We've found better germination rates by broadcasting in the thin stands of clover, obviously.

@@Landandlegacytube try seeding and mowing a little tighter to ground. Like 4 or 5 inches. You'll get 50% germination.

@@travissmith-wz5nc We tend to keep the mower height above that because cutting much shorter results in more unwanted plants coming in. The cereal grain crops are used to fill the voids in chicory and clover.
