'Convective Uprising' is my 2023 highlights video presentation featuring the most dramatic, photogenic and exciting weather and night sky events I captured on camera during the course of the year. 2023 was exceptional for convection and thunderstorms so the video is heavily dominated by such subjects, hence the title. The video also includes winter scenes, aurora, planet conjunctions, stars and fog inversions.
The highlight for me were the stunning stormscapes with huge cumulonimbus updraughts and tower cumulus, explosive convection, and lightning. The majority of the scenes were filmed with a DJI Mavic 3 Classic, DJI Mavic 2 Pro, Go Pro Hero 4, phone and Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon 600D DSLRs. 2023 is currently my favourite year to date so I hope this compilation does justice to, what was for me, amazing memories out in nature.
