Thank you kindly and I'm glad that you've found the project! Yes, I agree with your description - that's very much what the process feels like to me as well. I oftentimes say that the music takes on a life of its own, and I mean that in the truest sense of the words. Almost every song reaches a point where I feel that it's just creating itself and I'm merely writing down what it wants. That's the ethereal part you and others are picking up on I think. It's quite a wonderful feeling when it happens.

That makes me particularly happy/relieved to hear, because that of course was my biggest worry as well. Vocalists undeniably have a massive impact on the tone of a band, and I was a fan of Skirge's lyrics/vocals myself. I knew I would probably be okay, because I have done a few vocals on previous albums and many people didn't seem to notice that there were 2 different voices going on, but still... a single track vs an entire album is a huge difference. I had to do a bit of training to even be able to sustain that without damage. And yes, I sometimes like to throw a wrench into the expected style just to see how far I can take it. I have this weird thing where when someone tells me they like what I'm doing, part of me wants to go "Oh yeah? We'll see about that!". Don't know what that is, but I guess it does make for some interesting twists and turns ;) Glad you loved the end result man, that makes it worth the while for me!

Many thanks for that! Yes, this project feels extremely meaningful to me and I lose a part of myself in every album. Metal is the perfect genre for being able to do something like that, so I too hope many more musicians are doing similar things.

Enjoy! And that's wonderful, The Sea was one of the tracks I feel the strongest about too. It was quite a bit different from what I usually do, but sometimes songs just want to exist and all you can do is follow. That was certainly the case for me with this one.

I hope you will find it to be a worthy ending to the trilogy! It truly felt like the end of a long journey to me. That's not to say that I'm quitting after this of course... far from it ;)

Loved it so much I also ordered the CD and T-shirt. The digital album was ordered via Bandcamp. I'm not really a vinyl fan, although the limited edition looks amazing!

Thank you very much (and great to see you around again!), I'm glad the entire package worked out for you the way it did! The album being so personal helped me to open up on camera, so it all felt like a natural development. And yes, getting that "something old, something new" thing going with both original albums was one of the biggest challenges about this one. Especially since I don't like to just repeat a song and give it a different name. It has to be different, yet FEEL related. Somehow the puzzle ended up falling together the way it did, and I am very relieved. As epic an idea as it was, I don't think I'll ever try a trilogy again :D It went well once, but I don't want to tempt fate. Let's see where the road takes me from here!

I'm glad to hear it! Yes, absolutely. I don't know if it was the circumstance or the culmination of experience from previous albums, but something about this one just felt different throughout the process. There was less of a barrier between the music and me, and I had plenty of things I wanted to lose in it. It seems to have worked as intended. Yes that outro track... I've quite a bit to say about that one actually. Might do a short video about it soon. I think it was a combination of Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis and general synth soundtrack material, like the Unreal 1998 sountrack. The entire song is a spontaneous single improv take on every instrument, warts and all.

I am very happy with the result as well - despite the difficult time in which it was partially created, the album itself came to me very naturally. I wish it always was like that... who knows though, maybe something like this will happen again on the next one? We'll see! Until then, enjoy the now finally finished trilogy!

That sums up exactly what I was trying to do, thank you for saying that! Putting those tiny details in there is the kind of stuff that makes these albums take long to create. Great to hear! Those drums on Garden of the Erased as well, wow. Great job on vocals too, powerful and nice variety. Wish I could growl like that! Have you ever experimented with clean signing? Interested if you feel that would ever have a place or you feel it doesn’t fit. Personally I think the harsh vocals and whispering / spoken passages work better for that otherworldly vibe!

Thanks, the vocals were the thing I was most worried about for this album, because that area had mostly been taken care of by my former bandmate Skirge on previous albums! It's not that I worried I couldn't do it - I have done vox on soms of our previous songs together... but a vocalist is one of the hardest things to exchange in a band without changing a lot of the vibe, and I didn't want people to feel estranged. I guess people did get used to my voice from previous albums, because I've heard no big complaints about it (with the exception of people just being sad to hear that Skirge had to leave, which I agree with). Yes I/we have experimented with clean vocals from the very start of the project, but so far there has never been a case where it ended up being preferrable as a lead over the harsh or whispered vocals in my/our eyes. With that said, I don't consider anything to be off the table for this project - as long as it feels meaningful and works within a context, I'll do what sounds best to me. So if a future album has a passage that clearly needs clean vocals, then that's exactly what I'll do :) There are already a few clean layered vocals in this album, but they are a little hard to hear in the tapestry. On Follow the River for example, "and the undertow whispers my name" has a choir of clean voices behind the main raspy one. And on Egregore, during the monster's speech ("the depths of thyne impurity, etc", there are 4 clean vocals building a chord around the nasty one. They are slightly timbre-shifted to go with the monster's pretending-to-be-something-it's-not vibe.
