The beauty in the title track just never goes away for me. It always makes me feel like I am crossing a desolate ancient battlefield while the skies weep behind gray clouds above me.

Awesome, I know what you mean! I had a similar experience while writing it. A couple of tracks on this album were unusually "visual" to me as they were forming and Transience was one of 'm. Always makes my day when someone picks up on those ingrained images, thank you \m/

Kevin Bertrand, I have just discovered your music! I've been a big metal fan for many years (Metallica, Halloween, Judas Priest, Death, etc) but I have to admit that your music is probably the best discovery I've made in the last 10 years! This album is especially powerful and deep! Truly a masterpiece! I really hope you will keep producing music in the future!

Thank you for your kind words, that's a big honor! The period in my life in which this album was made was particularly turbulent (I received a son and lost my mother within a year). This project helped me to pull through, as it always does. All three albums were important to me as they were being made, but this one felt particularly emotional. I'm hoping it will help others who are going through similar trying times. Oh, and I have no intention of stopping, so hopefully many more albums will follow! \m/

So just got a new phone from the brand Nothing. They have a ringtone named Nothing. Which happens to be morse code. When I heard it I was like, I have heard this morse word before lol. Turns out it spelled out nothing, just like in the in the song... Instant recognition 😉

Life is full of such strange coincidences, isn't it! IIRC, I was trying out several things for that morse idea, and the word "nothing" stood out to me as... oddly catchy. So the rest was built around that. Wondering if the phone brand had the same experience :D

I am relatively new to the band. I believe music is to be played live but really resoect your vision for the band. It is your creation, after all. I am really enjoying the albums immensely. Maybe live it would compromise the sound.

Yeah I am painfully aware that I'm the odd one out when it comes to my distaste for live music! I sometimes wish my brain ticked differently, but on the other hand, if that were the case, I might have never done a project like this. I'll just keep leaning into it in the hopes that I can make some more meaningful albums before the world comes to an end ;)

Thanks! Yes, we were very young when we came up with it, so we leaned into the absurdity. The 4 syllables were chosen by the two of us to feel like some sort of otherworldly invocation. The exact meaning has always remained a secret, as we hoped that it would spark the fantasy of the listener.

Once I had that image in my head, I just couldn't get it out anymore :D It took me longer than it should have, but I'm glad I eventually learned to just let go of things if they weren't working out the way I intended. The final version of this song might just be my personal favorite on the debut :)

Thank you! Yes you are right - JMJ was my first favorite musician when I was a kid, and that final song was a spontaneous one-take-per-instrument jam. I was surprised myself that quite a bit of that style came out, despite not having listened to that album for probably two decades. Apparently it was more deeply ingrained than I was aware of! I doubted for a moment whether I should use it, but ultimately I consider it to be an ode to one of the giants whose shoulders I'm standing on. Without people like him, I might have never discovered how much I love musical experimentation.

I have no words, I'm just amazed! By the way, I myself noticed some Easter eggs, for example, the Morse code from "Infinion" and I was always wondering what it meant. The reference to Orion almost brought me to tears. I also think Cliff is the greatest musician and he is one of my favorites, and when I found out that he is also the favorite of my other favorite musician, I was totally shocked (yes, I'm talking about you now :)). It really says a lot about Burton as a person and a musician. He promised to become the best musician in honor of his dead brother and he actually became, and moreover, he became an idol for other musicians that are now considered as the best. I myself dream of becoming the best guitarist in honor of Cliff Burton as he became for his brother, I even practice 8 hours a day like him. And I also dedicated one of my songs to him... Thank you very much for this video, you've just confirmed that you are one of the best composers I have ever heard, and maybe even the best. I am waiting for more similar videos, maybe there will be something about "Emergence" or "Transience" too.

Thank you very kindly! You are right, the 90s/early 00s era was the most inspiring for me so I think a lot of the essence in these albums comes from that period. Something old and something new, so to say. All the best from the mildly hillocked southern Netherlands ;) \m/

Thank you very kindly for your reactions! Always makes me glad to see when someone is feeling so strongly about it. The Dawn of Motion was one of those tracks that just wrote itself, I was quite happy about that one too. As for your question, I don't have a direct donation place, but I have recently released the 20 year anniversary demo on Bandcamp for free. That one has a "pay what you want" button, so technically it can be used as a donation button :) If you want to make sure the absolute most possible of it goes to me, you could wait for a Bandcamp Friday (Bandcamp takes 0% of the cut on those special days, vs the usual 10%). Any amount you can miss, no matter how big or small, helps me to keep the project going! Many thanks! \m/
