This is a great video. I converted the entire anime Wolf's Rain to my PSP with no trouble at all. However, I've been experimenting with some of the videos that my PSP has failed to play even after this video--two very stubborn files--and discovered that setting the Constant Quality to 18 and adding b-pyramid=0:ref=3:weightp=0:8x8dct=0 to the advanced options (under the video tab) forced these uncooperative videos to encode correctly! Hope this helps anybody else who has the odd movie that won't work.

do u know how to delete some files in the iso without needing to extract? i changed SAO icon n i convert folder to iso again, but the app added files so it gives error 80020001

When I got my first psp at launch I used it for music and movies. I didn’t even have a smartphone with a 4 gb datel. I guess there are people using this.

Yes , it was a live saver back then , and I still sometimes go back to watching movies and animes on my PSP and it still looks good

haha i remenber back then , i dont had the money to buy a smartphone , only have the psp and use "any video converter" to convert a 720p movie to 480x272 , i remenber that i watch captain america the first soldier on my psp .It looked like bluray for real . Now i use my smartphone for listen music, watch movies and my psp to play games

@@pspmav i think it's because that seeing and such and old piece of hardware being still capable of reproducing modern media content (and still looking good) is what makes it special. I love the PSP.

I use Sony Vegas to render videos for the PSP, works great (what to expect when both are from Sony :D)

Does Vegas support subtitles as well ? Also did you comment something about the autostart plugin ? I got a notification , but now it seems to be deleted .

@@pspmav haven't tried subtitles so can't say. And yes - I've been trying to get the autostart plugin to work but no luck. When I launch the Configuration app my screen turns black and psp turns off. Tried v5.5 & v5.6 but all the same. v5.6 has 6.60 LME support but i guess it doesn't work on 6.61 PRO-C :(

@@pspmav I'm trying to load a .pmf file instead of the default coldboot animation when my PSP starts up so that's why the AutoStart plugin would be perfect, if it worked: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/abNjdq1ona-VloU.html

@@pspmav yes but it can also apparently load .pmf as well, check the short video I linked in my previous reply. There it's shown how it is when it worked 13 years ago :D

hi, i did the exact same as you did to download a music video to my psp, but the video is not playing cuz its "unsupported data type" do you know why? pls help

I was having the same problem until I realized that the aspect ratio might not be correct. Go to the handbrake app, load your files and that preset, and then go to dimensions. You'll find the option for aspect ratio. change it to 480 x 272 . worked for me. try and let me know here if the problem still exists!

You can but it needs to follow certain criteria like a certain size , have to have the same name as the video etc . I'll take a look at it tomorrow and will tell you

Thanks for this video. It's a GREAT reference. Can you tell me: If I have CFW 6.60 installed on my PSP already, can I upgrade directly to CFW 6.61? Or do I have to install the OFW 6.61 and then CFW 6.61?

Yes and no , you can add subtitles to videos you make , but can't turn it on or off . But I think there were some videos made by Sony that had this feature

I downloaded the original icons , put it in my phone's built in photo editor and changed the hue 2 times . And this is how it turned out

downloaded the latest version of handbrake . what you need to do is , just change the resolution to "custom" then you'll get the option to manually set it

How many MB is a single anime episode?

That depends on the animes quality , but usually a 720p or 1080p anime has sizes between 100 to 300mb

If it's in MP3 then it'll work, otherwise it won't unless you convert the video

@@sarangpawar3624 nope , MP4 is the best format to use on your PSP. The PlayStation manual dosen't mention anything about it supporting 3gp

@@sarangpawar3624 both the PSP go and street have inbuilt batteries. But the ones with removable battery is better since they have double the battery capacity. But even then , all PSP models are good for daily use . My 3000 with the original 1200mah battery lasts for about 7-7:30 hours on a single charge

my dimensions tab is different than yours, it doesn't let me unselect "keep aspect ratio"

You've got to change the anamorphic first , then it'll let you change the aspect ratio

@@Bot-fz2wl Make sure that under the Dimensions tab, you have the Resolution Limit set to Custom. Then it will let you change the width to 480 without messing with the height :)

mostly the long conversion time and problems with putting the videos onto the psp correctly ( thats on my side since i just got a dual slot adapter and didnt know how to use it at the time )

hey dude I have a question I want to buy a pink PSP on ebay but they all seem to be the Japanese version unfortunately they wont play the US umd for movie even if region free, so will I be able to just convert any movie/tv/video I want like this and still be able to watch on my psp even if it is japan version?

Yup , you can watch any movie using this method . Region lock only applies to movies that are on the UMD itself
