Use an adapter and strip it to its board and fit it in the assembly It's easy and will last a long time

Great video! You can reuse the rectifier and capacitor from the CFL just add a AC capacitor in series over the input like in the video. Then you can add inductor or resistor in series or 47uF+ capacitor in parallel with the LED for extra efficiency. I would avoid the plastic circle since it blocks airflow and overheating is the biggest issue in led lamps. Also diagonally opposing screws give a better thermal bond, maybe some thermal paste 😬

friend.. i doubted the led can last a long time if you just give a small space of aluminium for the LED's heatsink due to the huge amount of heat that been released..

hi ... nice build :) but do u know what type of ckt u have used? what it is called?... i think u r using resistors and droping the most of the voltage ... this will be waste of power... i have that smd led.. i think it is rated as 10w

that hot glue will melt after the led turned on for a while! + where is your thermal paste for your heatsink? + your heatsink too small, led lifetime will not be long enough.

this is for 110v or 220v? I have already done it, but it gives very little light. Tal vez si usara 1 capacitor de entrada de 250v @ 2.2mf??? yo uso 110v en la red. I have another 36leds (or 38, I do not remember) which illuminates 4 times what illuminates this and only consumes 2.5w. This of 10w, should give muchisima more light, because I have some others with a source of 12v and they work of wonder. My idea was to use the E27 socket directly. Regards.

on whole its a very good idea but, the glue behind the plate gets melted up when the bulb will be used longer,there should an alternative in the place of GLue

how much power - watts can the capacitive dropper provide, i have a basic power meter, the reactive power kVar is 10 times the kVa due to leading power factor & may impact the power bill.

Thanks for sharing. But could you give a detailed diagram? I would use two screws for the led plate than glueing it up. The glue may melt.

This circuit definitely workable but won't last if pushed for hours... Heat will certainly kill it. Robust heat sinking is needed.

He did not apply thermal paste between heat sink plate and COB LED. Without proper thermal conductivity, that LED could soon fail.

You soldered on the wrong side of the circuit board. als those copper contacts can cause unwanted Shortcuts.

CFL lamps bring a high voltage circuit inside. Did you remove that circuit? Or is connected directly to the home network.

Circuit diagram is differ from the video. In video Diode and Capacitor attached to the Diode Bridge Rectifier output terminals. But in circuit they are not.

You have used 10K ohms and 47 ohms resistance in video , but in circuit you have used 1Mega ohms and 50 ohms resistance. 1 mega ohms resistance is ok correct it in video.. Thanks

He probably didn't add voice because he's either not a native English speaker, his accent it too heavy, or he just doesn't want the possibility that someone might know who he is. Not everyone thinks that they should be a KZfaq "personality" -- some people just want to put out useful information and remain relatively anonymous. Perfectly understandable. If *I* was doing it, *I* would probably not put my voice in there either. I would put more detailed written descriptions though. I looked at the circuit he linked to and it appears to just be a full bridge rectifier with a voltage divider via two resistors.
