In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to install an original BMW front wheel onto a Suzuki GSX-R fork using parts from Cognito Moto. This conversion allows you to upgrade the front suspension on a classic R65, R75, R100, K75, or K100 BMW motorcycle using components from a modern sportbike.
I'll take you through the entire process step-by-step, from installing the wheel adapters, axles, rotors, and brakes, to completing the fork swap. You'll need the specific Cognito Moto conversion kit for your BMW model and GSX-R fork generation.
This is a great upgrade for vintage BMWs, allowing you to retain the classic BMW wheel while enjoying superior handling and braking from a modern fork design. The wheel adapter kit bolts on easily and ensures proper fitment and geometry. No modifications to the wheel are needed!

How do the stance change with gixxer forks compares to oem front end? Are the gixxers forks much shorter? I have my oem 1983 r100 forks slided up 1 ” in the top tripple now and are happy with the stance.

The GSX-R fork is a bit shorter. 29.5 is top to center of axle unloaded.

Does this kit do away with the top hat spacers on the original wheel bearing set up?

Would the axle and adapter kit work with 2003 gsxr 1000 forks? Looking at your triple tree as well.

Unfortunitly, it does not. The axle and rotors changed in 2005+ and that is the one this is designed for.

Hey I just purchased 06/07 gsxr 600 forks for my k100. What should I be running for my “desired offset” on the tree conversion when ordering from your site? I don’t want to have to move the take from the original location like I’ve seen a few others do.
