Members of the 1186 Military Police Company, Oregon Army National Guard, convoy from Salem, Ore. to Umatilla, Ore. to conduct pre-mobilization training. The 200 Soldier unit was escorted by Salem, Keizer, and Oregon State Police as they left Salem and headed North on Interstate 5. The MPs will deploy later this fall to Afghanistan where they will be tasked with a variety of operations including force protection, convoy security, and protective services for high ranking officials.
