Today I'm cooking with my kids to share a taste of my childhood in Africa. We're making a delicious chicken stew with a side of Chapati, an East African flatbread that's perfect for sopping up all the savory goodness. Mom of 3 and now Grandmother of 10. Growing up poor is one of life’s great lessons. It gives you appreciation for everything you have worked hard for as well as knowing how to stretch a dollar. While living on the streets, going hungry is nothing I would wish on anyone having everything handed to you as a child,abundance and luxury does not always make a good human!

The obstacles that you have been through, not having basic nourishment as a child, is unfathomable to most people in the western world. To see what kind of human being you've transcended in spite of your adversity is so inspiring! The world needs more examples of mean such as yourself. You truly are touched by the Devine force of Love and you transmute that to your children in such a beautiful way.
