As a cooking mama fan since my elementary days I’m a very proud owner of the sealed copy of this game. It goes well with my collection of the ds games. Im a very pleased collector. I could totally see people like me paying more than retail value for this game someday (happy I paid retail personally tho).

What they're saying actually makes sense from a Blockchain perspective since that is what it's designed to do; have a list of transactions that everyone on the Blockchain network agrees is valid. A transaction in this case being "person with this public key owns this copy of the game", which you could then prove is you by providing your private key. You could theoretically use Blockchain for DRM as you can use it to prove ownership if you have the private key to verify you own said public key. However, they don't mention a cryptocurrency they use, which seems to imply that they made their own which would be a very complex task that's fairly unnecessary. There are cryptocurrencies you can program to do this kind of thing, the most prominent being Ethereum. It might cost a bit, but it'd be the easiest proof of concept.

I mean, they did attempt to pursue crypto despite having no clue how it works and just wanting investor $$$. Them scrapping it is likely just because of that, and them rushing the game out. (not to mention the switch barely being able to give a return on investment to that end)

Poorly optimized Unity games can cause overheat. The original version of Ori and the Blind Forest on PC has a bug that causes your GPU to go 100% and overheat the moment you alt + tab the game.
