My dad used this type of stove for camping. I remember seeing people with the pressurized camp stoves being amazed at how great our kerosene stoves worked. Sometime ago he changed over to propane and was never happy with it. I am going back to kerosene.

Brings back childhood memories. Can it cook bacon? It’s the only stove we used to cook basically everything.

I grow up with his kind of Kerosene Stove there been around ever since I was baby. Between age 4 to 5, I remember my parents having Kerosene stove similar to this one. But we have two burners on the side and kerosene bottle in the middle.BUTTERFLY #2418 DOUBLE BURNER

Thanks for the video and good info. The moon and stars lined up just right and I found a brand new two burner Butterfly on CL for $30 last week. As a point of reference, as the burner grates are set on this video it will just fit a #8 cast iron skillet. If you flip them you will gain the space needed to fit a #10 with ease. Thanks again for the demo.

We have used kerosene wick stoves but yours is different, so I was waiting to see the blue flame; which was not visible. A hood would take care of the startup smells which I'm sure you already know this. Thanks for the video.

What keeps the kerosene from from leaking from the upsidedown bottle? Is there a gasket between the metal and the glass bottle?

how much fuel was used for this test, and what volume is that resivor? I am guessing 1/2 gallon size.

I read somewhere that a gallon of kerosene would do an entire week of cooking three meals a day cooking from scratch. I am really surprised at how well this stove works. Here is the write up: This two burner kerosene stove burns 12.5 hours on one burner per full tank. Most efficient when using kerosene. Single burner produces about 7,000 btu's of heat per hour when using kerosene. Requires some assembly. Extremely clean burning odorless kerosene stove due to catalytic converter. Produces no smoke if properly used. Stove can be used with kerosene oven by removing the second plate. Works also on Diesel, Methyl Hydrate (alcohol) or Lamp Oil, etc. Non pressure single wick gravity stove. Ideal kerosene stove for remote camp, emergency use or for development agencies. Very safe to use.

I'm pretty sure kerosene has a higher energy density than natural gas. If you can't boil a pot of water with kerosene, you're doing something wrong. Edit Kerosene has 46.4 MJ per kilo and NG has 52.2MJ per kilo. However, kerosene is much more dense than natural gas.

good video but I see you know a lot more about having a well-stocked workshop than you do about cooking, you don't just throw Bacon into a (cold) pan
