I have moved away from LP fueled stoves for the simple reason I don't have to carry an extra container just for the camp stove(s) to run off of. My lantern, and main cook stove are both dual fuel meaning white gas or unleaded. Since my Tacoma also runs on unleaded, I carry between one and four 20L NATO Jerry cans with fresh unleaded in them for all lighting, cooking and truck to use from. Secondary reasoning for going with dual fuel over LP is that the dual fuel units are not as affected by altitude (if at all) over the LP counterparts. Thirdly and less importantly, I can put the lantern, and/or stove anywhere in camp without the additional need for hoses and big LP tanks, or small LP bottles. It boils down to the multipurpose use of my Jerry can(s) that I am bringing anyways, and no need to carry additional LP bottles or tank as well. My MSR Dragonfly backpacker style stove takes care of smaller cooking jobs and can run on any flammable fuel, so it is more of a multi fuel, over just dual fuel. I have a backpacking oven that fits beautifully over the Dragonfly and can bake/cook two 9" diameter pans at the same time up to 500F. Supplement these stoves with a good quality 12" Dutch Oven, and a flat folding stainless steel wood/charcoal grill, and there isn't anything I can't cook, fry, bake, broil, boil, steam, saute, or grill while on the trail.

I'm running the Adventure Trailer combo slide and partner steel stove. I absolutely love it! Don't forget you can remove the stove also for more mobility also! The price was hard to deal with but for me it was worth it especially doing most of my trips solo it's very easy to use and stow away.

I run a 22" Cook Partner in a Goose Gear Camp Kitchen stove/fridge combo. Propane is a 6 lb. Worthington, but I've also used the 1lb. adapter. For backpacking - or even just a quick water boil, I use the MSR PocketRocket.

I am using a combination of three types. We use a MSR Pocket Rocket for quick water boils for grits/oatmeal/coffee. We also use a traditional Coleman green stove that runs the 1lb. propane bottles. It works for small trips or just me and one other person. For our large groups/multiple day/multiple vehicle trips, I cook on a Camp Chef Explorer 2-burner stove that does 30kBTU per burner. We use a Camp Chef 14"x32" griddle on top or run the dutch oven/stockpot for chilis/stews/shrimp boils... The Camp Chef is amazing and does a great job, but it is not at all light or portable. Since I am the fattest guy in the group, it is my job to cook, and I truly enjoy that being my responsibility!! Great video and I always enjoy the stuff XO produces and shares!! Take care, Kevin

Running the exact same setup with the cook partner stove. I've found that the little 1 pounders don't push the fuel as well and I get less BTU output. I run with a 5 gallon tank. If it's just coffee in the morning, I'm breaking out the Jetboil.

A classic Coleman two burner stove works great too. And there are also some very nice small gas grills that would come in handy. Another useful item would be a grate setup that you can simply place over a fire. They can fold down and tuck into narrow spaces. Cheers.

We use a Camp Chef Ranger II. It's one of the few portable stoves on the market that runs off of a low pressure propane regulator. That's valuable to us since it serves double duty on "overland" type trips as well as in our popup trailer that is only plumbed for low pressure. Trailer has a 20lb bottle on the tongue and we have a much more portable 5lb bottle for all of our non-trailer excursions.

I've had a Partner Steel stove for over 10 years - still runs like a champ! 18" 4 burner - folds up like a briefcase. We take it rafting and it doesn't even have to go in a drybag or drybox. Just strap it down. Have only had one slightly plugged orifice on a burner and that was easily cleaned with a needle. They do sell a repair kit, which I did pick up, but have never had to replace anything. Buy one! It will be the last stove you ever buy. If I bought another one, the only thing I would do different is get the break apart hinge model. The 18" model burners are too close for two 14" pans to be side by side.

Stoves are nice, but I like the portable BBQ that runs off of the small propane bottles. That way I can grill a steak. I use a single coleman burner for anything else. And then for the snowmobile it's the MuffPot.

Thanks for the tip on the Partner Steel stoves. I'm in the market for a new stove. I've never been fond of the choices out there. I've never had any luck with Primus/Century (hate), Coleman has gone down hill, and the stoves from Camp Chef are not getting good reviews. I'm more of a function over form kind of guy, so the Partner Steel stoves are right up my alley. As much use as my stove gets I would rather pay the extra for a quality stove that lasts than another disposable stove. Thanks again.

I run a two-burner Coleman propane stove and a single burner Coleman white gas stove (practically an antique) and a Swiss Army surplus volcano stove with a Trangia alcohol burner, but it can use wood, leaves, or anything that burns in it. With most things Overlanding - two is one, and one is none.

when fire is not permitted i have 3 possible stoves depending on trip a people count. i have an old school coleman two burner which works good for more than 4 or five people, a walmart brand two burner stove thats lighter and takes up less space for four or less people and smaller meals. and i have a single burner butane stove for just myself. and a solo stove for packpacking. most of these were gifts free or cheap. though i like the idea of the at fridge stove slider combo it is an insane amount of money for what it is and can be built for less than a quarter of the price. once all my parts get here for mine ill do a video on buildin the same thing and where i got the parts.

Recently got a Jetboil Genesis system for car camping/overlanding. It pretty nice, everything folds up into your pot, and it has the flux ring technology for increased efficiency. 10,000 BTU burners, and has some accessories where you can added a third burner that is compatible with the traditional jetboil accessories. I would say the only thing I didn't like about it is the price.

Nothing beats cooking a fresh rainbow trout in a hobo packet over an open wood flame. It’s a good setup, but it’s not a great idea to have the stove built into the drawer. Splashes and oil will get all over the interior portions of the rig. Need the stove to be separate from the drawer. I have 22” partner steel stove stowed in a treksboxx like that but I set it up on a small table a bit away. Cleaner in the long run.

You mention that the different stoves put out xxxx BTUs, but that's a fixed amount of energy, not a rate of energy. Its like saying you vehicle can drive 70 miles. You need a time unit in there to make sense, like 70 miles per hour, or 1000 BTUs per minute. (after looking online I realize stoves are rated in BTUs per burner. not really sure why they do that so disregard my comment)
