I did this same type of work for 35 yrs at a golf club. Brings back good memories and some not so good. Great Video Now you gotta show how to make scratch hollandaise for 900

Always nice to see someone who actually cares about doing their job well even if it's not what they ultimately want to do as a lifelong career. Just the little things like changing gloves often and wiping things down carefully make all the difference

awesome video if you do this again i think putting the time on screen or doing some B-roll of you walking in while its dark out and everyone's sleeping would be really cool set up the chill vibes like Japanese swag chill style

I’ve worked in kitchens for over 50 years I consider my self a a pretty good cook,I never consider my self a chef. I guess the definition of being a chef has changed through the years. Putting bacon in the oven and making grits from a bag , frying sausage patties in the deep fryer and pouring eggs out of a carton and putting them in a steamer is what makes a chef these days. These days anybody with a bag of knives calls themselves a chef. If a real chef saw this he would be appalled.

You're right. That is not cooking at all. Cheap frozen products and ready-made products carelessly warmed up. Eggs from the terapack. Really bad and a shame for real chefs

So agree. I don't even consider myself anywhere close to a "chef" but the minute he did the eggs like that...nope. Then pouring the water over the sausage? I mean come on..breakfast is the the easiest part of the day for a restaurant. ALL eggs should be cooked to order, even scrambled, which take literally 3 minutes or less. If it isn't cracked from a shell, I don't want to eat breakfast there.

@@DenaInWyo I think it’s one of those breakfast included hotel buffet. Regardless of someone’s job,I would never criticize a job that someone has. Calling himself a chef is the issue.

@@Lifeisshortby I guess if it's something like that. Anything cooked to order, even flippin Denny's, should be cooking eggs to order. It takes no more time to scramble an egg than it does to cook it over medium. And "Chef" isn't even part of that vocabulary. THAT is almost criminal misuse of the title.

I assure you our cook cares about the process and he should not be blamed for a matter that is my, the social media manager's, fault. Not being from the kitchen world, I was unaware of the important distinction between a cook and Chef, but instead influenced by media training regarding buzzwords and hashtags, etc. Operating out of a Hotel buffet, we are required to prepare what is afforded by the Hotel budget. Thank you for watching and I'll aim for a higher standard in our future videos!

Using pasturized eggs for scrambled eggs is a big no-no The bacon should be back bacon for breakfast not streaky bacon Most of your prep should be done the afternoon before

@@MrSalOwns yh I am from the uk But we have better time management As we know that we shouldn't be doing prep before a breakfast service When I did breakfast (thank god I don't any more) I know I don't have to get in at silly o'clock to do my prep as it's been done the afternoon before
