Although it has been quite some times since you posted this video, I thought that you might like to know that someone who watched has actually tried making these Wartime Biscuits. After I saw the video, I went right to my kitchen and made a batch of Wartime Biscuits from your recipe. I admit that I used an electric mixer to make it easier to cream the margarine and sugar, and I used a tablespoon of milk rather than water but I otherwise followed the recipe. The results were really very good--I've eaten three Wartime Biscuits already! Thank you for your great video.

when I was a kid we actually did have air-raid sirens go off every Friday at noon here in the USA (research "The Cold War"). The sirens would be on top of banks, government buildings and even schools. I believe they did this even into the 1970s. Those sirens were very creepy sounding.
