If you're uncomfortable cutting down trees for the fire hole, look for a patch where many saplings are growing in a clump. You will be doing the forest a favour by thinning them out a bit. If you aim for ash, hazel or willow, they will coppice afterwards and come back stronger than ever. Cutting with a clean conscience 👍 I carry a small mattock head in my toolbar and add a sharp to it while in the bush. A 5 minute job, 750g extra weight but you can tear a hole into even hard ground. Bonus points if you find one with an eye that takes a tomahawk handle - carry two heads and one shaft for easy carrying

How about a Q&A? I'm pretty sure it would make a good video, especially in front of a fire with your humour. So, my question is: What was your original plan when setting up your channel, What do you think is your main goal currently, and what do you plan to do in the future? I would like you to cover stuff like: Is this just a hobby or do you plan to take it a step further?

I have grill pieces packed up for this reason! Small grill pieces that can be placed on rocks, above fire holes, etc so that it will not catch fire during cooking process. But good point about using freshly cut live branches!!

I'll tell you it Pax Good. It works good and its around a pound what do You Think. (And cook something on it everyone else boils water to demonstrate it.) Master of the Woods

Alfie I have some questions on knife sharpening. In your survival kit video you showed your Smiths Pocket sharpener and said it was good for in-field sharpening. So what do you use for your primary or main sharpener or is the smiths sharpener your main one? My knives are always getting blunt and "das bad times".

Well if i ever get a camera i should make a video how to sharpen. It's as simple as find the angle. And take steel off blade well i should get if i ever made a video on the subject i would point out which waterstones can't be stored in water other wise the bonds would break apart great stones though for sharpening.

Alfie, Why Brass wire...? Why not aluminum or copper wire? is there a reason or are they all fine to use?
@skweej
@skweej 6 жыл бұрын
Rebel Wilder Official copper ones will break over time, as by bending em constantly the metal begins to harden and become brittle. I'm pretty sure that aluminium would become crap over time, so it would need replacing more often. Brass would last some time before it needs to be replaced.
