Brisket is considered by many to be the king of beef cuts to smoke. I can’t disagree. In this video I take a USDA Choice Brisket, give it a great rub, and smoke it on my Lone Star Grillz Offset Smoker.

I've been looking at LSG offsets for a couple years now and wish I could afford one because that bark is hard (not impossible) to get on other smokers. But one thing I really enjoy about you and your channel is that you don't only cook on one device. You have kettles and pellets and drums and offsets and you always seem to change it up. I bought a P&S pellet and my WSM got cobwebs... I get an insert for my Weber gasser and my kettle gets no love. I tend to exclusively use my new toy and ignore all others. But your channel seems to go back to the cheaper BBQ cookers often enough that the everyday backyard BBQer can relate and try. You don't need a 2-3k smoker every time you cook... but if you have one boy are they are nice. :)

Looks awesome! Last (and only) brisket I did was super bowl Sunday. Only took 6 hours on the PBC, then 2 hours in the cooler. It was amazing and the hit of the party. I used Kinder’s “The Blend” (got it at Costco) and per your suggestion left it in the fridge overnight. Love the channel!!

This is so funny because we just got a brisket delivered to us from our online grocery store order. I was so worried because mine is really long and I don't think it will fit on my BGE. But I laughed when you put yours on the grill and you could probably handle 2 more. No matter what happens when I put mine on the grill I'm going to be so happy to just be cooking a brisket during this time.

Fat side up or down is best decided depending on whether heat is coming from the side and over the meat like in most offset pits (or a Weber kettle indirect), or from underneath, (like with a Weber Smokey Mt. or other vertical setup.) Not only will facing the fat cap towards the higher temperature help protect your bark from drying out, especially during temp spikes, the fat will baste the underside some once it starts rendering...and that it will do sooner if facing the higher heat coming across the top. I’ve got a Texas Pit Crafters 20” offset, and with my square firebox will probably soon get the new V-shaped LSG coal basket. Funny how you see the need for something once you’ve seen it lol. If you decide to try their coal basket you may want to start with lump instead of briquettes to avoid ash suffocation. Very good videography. Enjoy your videos.
