You did a great job, congratulations! The burnt technique is fantastic. I wanted to know what oil you put in to finish it

Thanks, I used a homemade beeswax mix, I have a longer video where I explain it in detail.

You are a true Viking. You burn all your creations as if they were offerings to Odin. I am so inspired by the work you do.🔥

Haha, thanks, Barrett! A Viking at heart, perhaps. Odin would be proud of the upcycling spirit!

You know a shop bought sponge cake on the go. You know your mum's home made chocolate cake taken with tea. You know the black forest gateaux with coffee and cognac with dear friends after dinner. You know a wedding cake made over some time with every icing frill being an important part for the once in a lifetime event. This table is all of those cakes.

Do you think the planks won't bend? Is that why you used the locks from side of the planks?
@JesperMakes Жыл бұрын
I was mostly a design thing, but I didn't account for wood movement, so the design caused a little issue.

Can we get an updated version of this video with you doing commentary Jasper?
@JesperMakes Жыл бұрын
I'm thinking about doing the table build again, and showing both what I did in the first build, and what I would do different making it again. With commentary. I still have the first table and I can show some problems caused by some desicions I made back then. Would that do?

Hej Jesper. Har overvejet en "lunch box" tykkelseshøvl. Er Biltema modellen pengene værd eller skal jeg tage den sikre (DeWalt)?
@JesperMakes Жыл бұрын
Hvis du har et regelmæssigt behov ville jeg helt klart tage DeWalt. Hvid det er til et par hobby projekter i ny og næ er Biltema helt fin.

Hey Jesper, Im almost ready to start creating a table top after being inspired by your videos. I have a question regarding your process. What is the reason for drilling out the holes left by the nails and are there any other way to deal with them?
@JesperMakes2 жыл бұрын
Hey Fredy, it's a great project. I was just trying different things with the nail holes. You can drill them out line I do, or just fill them with CA glue and sawdust. There is a longer video on the channel with this build, it's one of the first videos.

Nothing like a bit of Goon (what we call Boxed Wine... an Australian invention btw) after a hard day's upcycling! :D

What is the name of the tool that you used to plunge cut into the side of the boards? I'm looking to start table tops and might like this more than a pocket hole jig
