In this video, Cindy introduces the Silhouette Curio machine. She includes detailed instructions on software, which cutting tools work best and her tips for success. Artist and instructor, Cindy Pope, started creating jewelry in 2007 and fell in love with the jewelry arts. Once she stumbled upon metal clay she became instantly enamored of the medium. Cindy started out with Precious Metal Clay Rio certification and metalsmithing classes and she is one of Hadar Jacobson’s first Cadre of Base Metal Accredited teachers. When Saul Bell Award winner Wanaree Tanner came out with the concept of cutting and etching metal clay with a machine designed for paper called the Silhouette, Cindy jumped on board with the new technology and has become one of the most recognized teachers in the field internationally.

Hi, yes, polymer clay can be added after metal clay is fired.

What are the measurements for the Rolling Frames for Silhouette Curio? I have the large frames and need to see how these are in comparison, Thanks!

Since a 1.5 card thicknesses rolling frame is good for a bezel, what would you use a 1 card thicknesses rolling frame for?

Hello, we asked Cindy your question and she replied: You can use it for a double bezel to keep the thickness down and/or and projects overlays (paper punches, or sil cut outs that will be layered on top of another piece) . Also EZ960 would most likely be a nice strong bezel at 1 card. Hope this helps!

I really like your leather bracelet. I love a cuff but find the thickness on the back if my wrist to be quite uncomfortable. Where might I purchase these or can they be made.

Why use olive oil instead of Cool Tool's Cool Slip?

Hi Sara, Cindy has not tested Cool Slip and FS999 with the Curio. She uses olive oil only. Until this is tested we cannot recommend it. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the video. I have a question concerning cut offs. How do you keep them fresh and flexible? Is there any special liquid for that?

Hello, there is no special liquid for this. Simply a good cutter will create a smooth cut. Thanks for the question!

Hi, the cut offs can simply be placed anywhere and they will stay fresh and flexible because the clay has already been completely bone dried. If you decided to not use the cut offs, you can always reconstitute it and turn it back into clay.
