Fixing the Denon DRS 810 part 2 of ?

Well, I've got it working, or at least done a temporary fix. At first I thought it was a couple of "micro-switches" that sense when the tape draw is shut. They were bad and needed attention but that wasn't the only problem. Some of you suggested that it is a bad belt causing the trouble, I thought the belts were okay at first because they all SEEM good, not stretched or turning to goo or anything like that, but the belt connecting a motor to a pulley that selects the different modes did need replacing, even though just like the others it looked okay and felt tight enough. For now I've just used a rubber band and it does work, but I WILL replace that with a proper belt when I can find one.

I have the first episode done now, so I'm just working on the previews for the next few episodes and when that's done I'll put it all up. That way people will see more of what the show will be like and if anyone wants to help out they'll have a better idea on what to work with.

When I need to use a rubber band or shorten a longer belt to size. I cut it at 45 degree angle then super glue it, after that I use some sand paper to flatten the surface and voilla. It works perfectly :)

I'll have to try that, I always had a trouble gluing rubber together, the glue never seems to stick to it, haven't tried super glue though.

helped me fix mine, got some replacement belts from a slow boat from China only to find that out of the 100 different size belts they were all 2 big🤬 so I cut one and it’s working ok for now...🤗

So i bought this same deck in 2024 and it has the EXACT same issue. How did you get the belt on without disassembling the carriage tray? Nobody online shows how to do this. Would be awesome to replace all (3) belts at one time and worry about is again in 30+years

I think if I remember I did have to disassemble the whole thing. Elastic bands can work as a temporary replacement but they often come off. I would check the video myself and see what I did but I just can't stand watching my old videos.
