Yep, it's a 6.25u spacebar. Part of the reason I love CoolerMasters so much, they made a keyboard with a standard layout. So yes, you can swap out the keycaps with most commonly available sets. -- I think I have another video about how to deal with CM stabilizers tho.

astra tor PBT is so much more better feeling than the ABS plastic caps the other ones come with in my opinion, so I’d recommend it for both programmers and gaming if you don’t care about backlighting. If you want backlighting you can always get the pro and swap in some PBT keycaps. What you should really be concerned about is your switch type (blue, brown, green, etc.) which is completely personal preference.

nomelox PBT, yes. But the legends will start to wear off after few weeks. Some say these are pad printed, other laser etched, but that doesn't matter. It's a sad view. I have a photo if u r interested.

The model name actually has 'PBT' in it. If it doesn't have PBT in the model name, it is not the same keyboard. There are multiple versions of the Masterkeys S.

Actually I only found out after watching this video. :P The PBT model is not listed in online stores. Amazon has the S model but there is no mention of a newer PBT model available. I will look for pbt caps separately then..

Look for the 1upkeyboards HSE (hot swap edition) to change switches without solder.

Yes, but no. They're pad printed, not dye subs, nor double-shots. So, you can feel the letters on the keys. Not ideal. Truth be told, an off the shelf PBT keycap set would still be better. But they're still a quality starter set.

@@babyyou548 exactly. They feel great. And they will for a very long time. But the legends will fade. If you touch type, it won't matter, but eventually replace them. I personally like thick ABS double shots like maxkeys from 1upkeyboards. But you won't need those right away

@@skiwithpete I order from Joybuy.com(Jd.com) for 11.99$,Cooler Master Pbt with Grey keycaps and purple legends they are China only realease but they are the same like this on video.To change my Abs doubleshots from my some random chinese mechanical keyboard.And only thing that i am afraird because they are not doubleshot because of legends.I like the font on this coolermaster keycaps.And i hear pbt keycaps have nice feal.

thanks. i'm going to get one to use in the office for my work (as a programmer), so backlighting is not necessary. given that, the non-pro masterkeys seems to be a much better choice than the pro. i just don't know for the price difference (pro is a little more expensive than the non-pro), the backlighting vs. pbt caps is the only trade-off or is there anything else that makes the pro "more pro" (i.e. superior to the non-pro)?

Get this one. You'll want to eventually replace the keycaps - but they'll defo be better and last longer than the filco keycaps.

That's not true at all. These are thick, and pad printed. Double shot means they have used two different colors of plastic. Shot 1 is the legend. Shot 2 is the rest of the cap.

So lets take vortex for example, their doubleshot keycaps has the same color both on the inside and outside, why?

the Motospeed CK104 has scratchy Outemu switches. Inferior ABS keycaps. And is a non-upgradable PCB. Just because it's cheap, doesn't make it good value. There's nothing wrong with a Motospeed CK104 for your first keyboard, but it's not really in the same world as this keyboard.
