A variation of #17 is now used for the NCAA tournament since 2011. This theme is still used during the regular season.

Terrible rankings. The NCAA basketball theme should be at least Top 5. And no, I'm not just saying that because it's March. I look forward to hearing it every year. #1: Olympics #2: NBA on NBC ("Roundball Rock") #3: NCAA basketball (CBS / Turner) #4: Monday Night Football (ABC/ESPN) #5: Sunday Night Football (NBC) #6: NFL on CBS ("First on Field") ... Was just going to write this. Found this video because I couldn't remember the sport that this theme song was attached to, and sure enough here it is in a top 20 list. Soundtrack of my teens, every weekend afternoon growing up!

NFL on FOX is a great theme. But it's diluted because FOX uses it in other sports as well. Most themes belong to a single sport that you can identify immediately, like the NBA on NBC... classic.

Whenever I hear the NFL on FOX theme play then watching my Buccaneers jog out just gives me the best vibes ever. With my mom and dad sitting on the couch with snacks on the table and some drinks and get to watch football all day. But ever since I went to college I can't do that anymore and I miss it so much :(

Number 1 needs to be a song that gets me hyped for whatever I’m about to watch. Nothing gives me that feeling like CBS College Basketball. Every time I listen to it it gets me hyped and excited. That is the number 1 theme on this list

Great list. The CBS college basketball, Fox MLB, and Fox NHL are particularly nostalgic. They bring back memories of watching Tigers, Red Wings, and Spartan hoops games with my dad.

#3 (Olympics theme for NBC) should be credited to ABC. It was theirs while they had the broadcast rights. NBC just reworked it a little.

It's pretty much been the same forever. I remember it back during the 1960 summer Olympics from Rome, and I think ABC did that one.

#10 (NCAA Football on CBS) was introduced as the theme for Super Bowl XXI (Giants/Broncos). Probably still brings a smile to Phil SImms - he was the MVP of that Super Bowl (also the first to say '"I'm going to Disneyland!:")

Good list. I would have ranked # 15,16,17 higher. But it is your objective opinion. My favorite is a toss up between number 5 & 1. Since FOX got lazy and used your number 1for multiple sports; the edge goes to number 5. NBA on NBC.

But I think the theme that gets overlooked and is really good is the College Football on CBS. Especially when they use it for their SEC coverage I'm watching my Georgia Bulldogs, it's amazing. But in all good video.

NHL on ESPN should be way higher than 19 (easily top 7), NCAA March Madness should be higher than 17 (maybe 10 or 11), NBA on NBC being number five is a travesty. That should be the undisputed number one

I'm a bit more old school I guess, but my all time favorite was the NFL on CBS theme from the late 80s (known as "Pots and Pans" for some reason)

I have to say that the ESPN College Football Theme from the late 80s and through the 90s and SNF on NBC are the BEST! Fox NFL is in my Top 5 though at Number 3

While not nationally broadcast, the end theme on Home Team Sports for Washington Capitals, Balimore Orioles, and Washington Bullets was hard to beat in the 90's.
