Just to be a little more specific with this carburetor the adjustment screw I removed the cover from is considered to be your fuel mixture screw...though it does control the air/fuel ratio...I can see someone criticizing me saying it’s the air/fuel screw so let’s get that out of the way now 😂

Though I bought and have a vm22 clone I am going to keep this one on for now and just rejet it for the time being since the adjustments are right on the side and not on the bottom of the float bowl

I got a quick question that line that goes under the carburetor is that the line for the air to go in the carburetor?

No sir they all need adjustment jetting & tuning to suit your bikes needs but nothing really hard I can basically tell you where it needs to be Jetted & adjusted with some quick info like elevation rough location & what’s all done to it so let me know I’ll be happy to help now that I’m back from a cluster of issues I was dealing with for the last month or so

I have a 125cc Tao Tao ATVs. It’s all stock. My elevation is 850’. I just bought a new carb off of Amazon cause the bike sat for 2 years with old fuel. Can you suggest where to start with the mixture? Thanks

@@Jboost412 i would be interested in what you think jetting should be for Michigan elevation roughly 735'. I have a Brandnew Kayo 125 that from day 1 has run like junk. the 70cc Kayo runs like a champ. But the 125 bogged at 3/4 throttle and beyond. i had it serviced 3 times and the dealer kept saying its normal that they dont get better and its normal for it to run that bad. I dont believe it. So i bought an aftermarket carb that was serviceable and had a shim able needle. this improved slightly as i i could then make more adjustments but still not great at the higher throttle. So working in a machine shop i kept thinking this seems like its not getting enough fuel at full throttle. So i stupidly didnt check the current jet size but proceeded to find our smallest micro drill bit in the shop (roughly .033") not sure how that rates in a jet. That really opened up the fuel flow. The atv was hard to start but once warmed up it ran full throttle and better then it ever had. so definitely was the main issue. Since then a screw on the choke butterfly wiggled loose ans was sucked through the intake. Dealership replaced the whole motor for free. but in the process they put on a different stock carb again. so right back to square one. brand new motor and carb and runs like crap again. So i need to pull the carb and adjust the jets again. This time looking for advice on what size i should use. I did but a micro drill bit ser specifically for carb jets. So maybe this time ill use a shop plug gage to verify stock size, I know .033' worked but was probably slightly to big, so maybe start in the middle and work my way up.

I’m gonna locate the various China quad books I have here and see what they say…for the drain bolt though tights just gonna be fine once the drain & washer on the plug meets the case typically 1/4 turn 1/2 turn after it’s good to go and the shock bolts really just tight as you can go with it roughy 25-30ft lbs is what I’m gonna say they’re set at along with the lug nuts but let me check to see what they list for it

@@Jboost412 awesome thank you sir. Sorry I’m one of those that care and want to do it right. My son is going on this thing I want it safe as possible if I can help it. Did you also torque the spark plug ? I’m such a Noob sir. Lol
@Jboost4122 жыл бұрын
Hey these are all logical questions and valid concerns brother no worries! The spark plug that’s gonna be something your gonna do by feel once it seats you’ll just turn it a little bit more usually 1/4 turn after it’s seated is perfect for these small engines
