That makes sense. I personally do not have a preference, though this Redbone color really has me going. My question was more aimed towards how they preform and what you rank them at... I should of got more into detail for that question. Personally for the hounds, I do not like the ears and they are problematic in certain situations or simple maintainance, but I am investigating them and seeing where they come into play. Things I did notice was the ears make their heads look bigger and could make a physiological effect on the animal they hunt. Another it helps with hearing things in the ground for beagles such as rabbits or things close to them on the ground. Another one I studied is the scent trapping they could do by trapping the air in front of their face with the ear's shape. I look at dogs for what they can do and how they can be maintained. I look to create a breed using some of these American dogs because they are what I am looking for. I want something to track like a coonhound but can fight off a wolf in cold regions while being a dog that can run fast and hard. The Coonhound's body is perfect, but it could use some mods. We need the Boarder collie of the Coonhounds and I want to know who has more success with what and how. I do not know if what I am saying makes much sense to you because of my poor spelling lol... you are the talking pro compared to me, but you might have some use or fun with my points of views and questions.

Good to hear..i got land but im in ga..thats a bit of a drive..I was in the same position not long ago so I ended up putting my pups in small ukc hunts every weekend and finally she started hunting and treeing..I lost a lot of money but she turned out fine...good luck man
