135 000 miles in 3 years?? Is this guy driving to the moon and back everyday?

One or two oil changes in 135K miles and it still ran. Heck, that's one tough engine.

I can't believe the mechanic would attempt this cleanup, most places would would say no way, get yourself a new engine. Hat's off to the mechanic though for attempting it, hope it works out.

How much you wanna bet this kid sold the car after he got it back. This is why I hate buying used.

Getting an oil change at regular intervals (3000 to 5000 miles) is one of the best things you can do to prolong the life of your car. If you destroy your engine, it will cost you.

Customer wants to keep the car... replaces the oil once in 135k miles.

Well, at least the owner knows the oil needs to be changed EVENTUALLY. I had a neighbor who never got her car checked for oil or radiator water or anything else when getting serviced at the gas station. All she did was fill up the tank with fuel and that was it. Needless to say her car didn't last very long and she had to buy another one because hers was beyond repairs.

The cheapest and best way to fix that would be to replace the engine with a low mile used unit. The current engine would have to be completely torn down and hot tanked to clean all the internal oil passages. The cleaning shown here is only half of the picture.

From one Technician to another, I felt for you during this video. I know how it is to recommend an engine replacement in a situation like this and to be told you'll do some obnoxious other work that is a band-aid and doesn't address all or even most of the problem. I felt your pain and admired your determination to do the work on cleaning off the head to the absolute best of your abilities even though it was ridiculous that the work was even being done.

I am utterly surprised that the engine last this long with only 2 oil changes.

my dad said when i was a kid he needed to get a new caddy in the 70's every year? because it didn't run right. lol. never changed the oil.??? wow. blew me away..

135k miles on a 3 year vehicle??? Holy smokes!!! Somebody's been travelin'... That's about 45k miles a year. That's about 15 trips from coast to coast (in the US) per year.

I regularly change my oil and always have but this freaks out my OCD brain and makes me want to tear into my valve head...
