To this day I personally still feel out of all the Final Fantasy titles, FFXII has the most aesthetically creative, well designed summons/espers. Excellent use of colour palettes, nuances and details, and thematic forms that could've been inspired in the designer if he was high on something. lol.

Zodiark is literally the coolest... if you read his lore, the "Gods" had to keep him imprisoned in his smallest form because they feared the power that he could achieve. a power that could end all existence. in the limit break, you can see he takes on his latter forms, being reborn into an Archangel, then transforming into a Blazing astral Phoenix, then finally intensifying into the Umbral Inferno. with this power, he creates a massive explosion that tears apart the fabric of reality rendering the foe completely Stricken from all existence... if that is not epic... i dont know what is

Each esper has unique and interesting backstories. One quite funny esper is Cuchulainn. It appears that he was created beautiful at first but was tasked to absorb all of mankind's crap and corruption, but it transformed him to a corrupted form of Baymax. The reason he rebelled was pretty much obvious for such a crappy job.

He rebelled because all of the evil he absorbed corrupted him, hence "Cúchulainn the Corrupted", and why he acts like a little kid all the time. He's not evil per se or never wanted to rebel, he just lost his way.

I watch these from time to time and I am still blown away by what Square did with some of these finishers. Even on the PS2 they completely broke the limits of the hardware. In a way the quality and style of these finishers even surpasses modern gen. Some of the best in the entire FF franchise, if not THE best.

I think Square finally learned from their Mistake. I noticed that in Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Summons are once again going to Fight Along side you like in XII and XIII. Only this time you keep your whole party, so the Summon truly is an Extra Party Member. Which means extra DPS, extra Healing and an extra target to distract enemies.

It's been so many years and I've never finished FFXII because I couldn't beat Belias and just gave up. Seeing this video makes me want to dust off my copy of the game and finally understand the combat system this time around being older and wiser and all. Side-note: I'm really loving all of these animations because they remind me of the GF animations from FFVIII

Don't feel bad. I was stuck and unable to beat the final boss of the game for months. I gave up the game for a year. Picked it up one day. And beat the game A few months later. Because for some reason I couldn't beat the final boss of the game and just keeped dieing. When I finally beat him. I almost cried. 😅

+ARMOR15 the difference between this and FF8 in my opinion is that Espers aren't used every battle as you may already know, meaning you enjoy their music + animations just that little bit mawr. Must be nice to read a comment not boasting about how many Espers and ultimate weapons you had.

+ARMOR15 You got stuck on Belias? Damn man, you still have so much more of the game to play! Have your characters have gambits that heal your party with Cura and revive teammates with Raise. Also check vendors repeatedly because they usually restock better stuff as you progress through the story. If you pick it up again, good luck dood.

+Alexis Mercer yessssss and I was like sooo disappointed when the FFXIII came out and the back to the old separated screen battle, I mean come on its ps3 and they can make a stunning graphics and massive world/area with monsters spawning but when we approach them it back to the old separated screen battle..... FFXII looks more real and liberal like you said, every battle happens very quick and fun without removing the ATB bar, I really love the draw-sword-when-see-enemies battle style, its fast and we can target them from far away. Feels like MMORPG

Catthy Wulan yeah wasn't really impressed with 13 honestly. Like I love final fantasy but none have given me the same, immersive feeling final fantasy 12 has given me. Great worlds, great enemy designs and graphics practically ahead of its time for 2006. And just the fact the amount of effort in it really paid off. Brilliant game honestly. I could go on lol.

They are all awesome, but of course Zodiark had to be the most mighty of them all, because he is the "Keeper of precepts"...the supreme beings who created him and the other Espers knew that the moment they unleashed Zodiark to fought the other 12 Espers and stop their rebellion, he would emerge victorious, he is supposed to have greater powers than his other 12 brothers and sisters togheter...In fact I can't think of any other summon/mythological being in any other Final Fantasy game that barely comes close to Zodiark's power....much less knowing that he was deprived of growing older and reach his full power because the supreme beings feared him..... Well there’s knights of the round from ff7 that did potentially 13 hits for 9999 if caster strong enough in magic and anima from ffx oblivion attack also did over 100k dmg

Don't worry about your English skills buddy because you did a far better job than the majority of the natives in the U.S as a bunch of them are absolutely terrible at it but other than that, zodiark is actually the toughest and most powerful of all espers.

@@jussblazzin2430 i wouldnt answer in this case with dmg numbers, every ff game converts dmg different, and in fact, in zodiac age version you can push zodiarks dmg to 999k if done correctly, wiping any none boss monster instanly out of existence. but still, lore is what counts in this context, not a dmg number. yiasmat the last hunt trial in ff12 has the most hps of ALL enemys in the whole franchise and takes good a hour without doubling the gamespeed to defeat, he also has pretty unfair attacks that can insta wipe your group that is out if all stay infront of him and a dmg block at 50% hps that halfs all dmg he takes, what makes the fight even longer than it is. but still, zodiarks lore is aside bahamut, ark and eden the best, doesnt matter the dmg he does in other games. 60k doesnt sounds much compared to other ffs, in 12 it was a good bunge of hps a boss lost, aside the fact he does always maximal dmg against all enemys that arent dark element, so 99.999 with banish ray, and aoe dmg of 49.999 to all enemys around a target enemy. so he does in any case way more dmg then your knights of the round or oblivion over time. + he can heal atleast in 12 your whole party fully up, casts ignore reflect, stage effects and vitality effects on the party and himself, can cast reflect on the party and himself and sets his gambit timer to 0, what triples his attack speed. but like i said, dmg doesnt matter, zodiark is zodiark, literally a god of the universe.

Nostalgic. As the game progresses, each battle with these Espers make it relatively hard. Being unable to use Attack, Magick, Items, Sap with Ultima having all the restriction shuffled. Zodiark using paling and barrier makes him also damn hard. Not only that, some Esper requires certain conditions to be met before they can do their Ultimate moves. Took me almost forever to know that Exodus needs to the Immobilized. I remember randomly exploring Barheim's Passage and encountered Zalera. Silly me, thinking an undead Esper can be obliterated by a fallen angel - I summoned Ultima to battle only to be dismissed by Zalera's Kill. Hahahaha Same goes for Zodiark. Going in unprepared due to random exploration, I summoned Ultima during his critical health only again to be obliterated by Banish Ray. Indeed, Zodiark is all powerful. Being able to wipe Ultima with one blow. Hahahaha I loved how Zodiark has 12 wings, an allusion to the 12th FF entry in the series.

i mean ye zodiark was not easy, but also not hard if you knew what you are doing, first you need the accessoire to revert potions ability, instead of heal, it does dmg, now you take a remedy to put all debuffs on him he isnt immune against, before you enter the room you also use revert on your party and the provoke on 1 member and disable the heal gambits and swap them out with recasting revert, revert converts all dmg into healing you, doesnt matter what it is(aside his ulti) but for this we have the black mask that absorbs any dark elemental attack, and thats it, this way you can beat him without any trouble

+DJXistance when did they announce that 12 was getting a remake or HD upgrade? that being said I wish it wouldnt it dose not need one it is not that much of a old game plus it was one of the worst games they should give the HD treatment to some of the seriously old ones as new fans are willing to go back to play a ps2 but they are not as willing to back and experience the ps1 ports of the super old ones (1-9) let alone experience them on any system older than ps1

but it plays itself how is that fun? and he world is bi and open but its copy and paste backgrounds, even the dungeons for the most part are all the same the only cool thing about this game is the hunts, its by far and away the worst in the franchise, and it may seem like i hate them game but that is not the case it is still better than most games released around the same time, its jut that it does not live up to the FF name for me

All of these were so epic, but when i saw Shemhazai i was like "shut up meg". The coolest ones are definitely between Exodus's meteor, Chaos's tornado, Famfrit's gourd and Zodiark's... Whatever that is. I think Zodiark's is the coolest, i'd say. Meteor looks so grandiose though, you see the trees all bend towards the ground right before the impact. Famfrit's gourd is a little lame, but the raging ocean it shows is pretty badass. Belias's hellfire gets a special mention for the aesthetics.

There's the fact almost each of these also represents a major antagonist or final boss throughout the series. The most oblivious ones are Mateus the Corrupt, Zeromus the Condemner, Chaos the Walker of the Wheel, Exodus the Judge-Sal & Famfrit the Darkening Cloud as they are Emperor Mateus, Zeromus, Chaos, ExDeath & The Cloud of Darkness either by name or look. But the others... From their backstories and compared to the others, I have compiled the fallowing: Adrammelech: Kuja Hashmal: Jecht Zalera: Sephiroth Shemhazai: Ultimecia And on a personal note, I equate Ultima to Kefka. Reasons: Both wanted to become god, Ultima's Eschaton is similar to Kefka's Light of Judgement. The only ones I have no counterparts to are Belias, Cúchulainn & Zodiark

Ok, there is no doubt, Chaos, Walker of the Wheel is a direct reference to Final Fantasy 1! Each of the blades matches the color of the crystals that the 4 Warriors of Light have, Chaos is the name of the final boss, and the Wheel can be represented as the wheel of time that is looped of the Warriors fighting against Chaos to save the world! It could suggest that this Chaos was one that defeated the Warriors of Light and it was able to absorb their power, thus becoming Chaos, Walker of the Wheel; of course, this is if you ingore the in-game lore, but that's my head-canon and I'm sticking to it!

I'm playing FFXV so far and I think FFXII is way better, considering it was created in 2006 for the PS2. If this was created for the PS4 with realistic environment and graphics, this would beat FFXV 100x.

I do think FF 12 is a really good game but an awful Final Fantasy, 15 was an unfinished game with no story at all. So i'm willing to give 12 another chance with the new release in ps4. I do think 12 is way better than 15

The reason that Ffxv is a unfinished game is they wanted to make it bigger and longer, but they could not. A game like FFxii would had the same production problem in ps4. The awful of FFXII is that almost anyone remember anything about this game. I forgot the characters, the antagonist and the plot, I only remember the espers and the secret boss.

Zalera the Death Seraph has the most metal backstory in FFXII lore about it: “Heretic scion who wrapped the world in dark energies, seeking to take the souls of all living things unto himself. What I like about FF12 its fairly easy game once you played through it 3-4 times and learned what things you need and the things you don't need. One thing I learned was to level Ashe, Penelo and Vaan up to around 3,000hp and then equipped them with the bubble belt. You can start with your favorite character blank and build from there. Mine happens to be the ones I mention.I only used the basics gambits for healing magicks.. I seldom use black magicks even though each character can use them and I use no techniques.All three are equally equipped tanks and can use the same magicks so, I seldom lose a fight.. In fact I haven't lost a fight in the last three games I played.I hope when they release the remaster they do one for PS3.

I only fight the main bosses and do several hunts.. I don't bother the optional bosses since there is no real need to and the game progresses without those optional boss fights. I use some black magicks as needed on flying enemies but, slicing and dicing is my game style. I seldom use a Esper or quickening even though my characters have theirs..

I did the same on my first few runs but after a while the game clicked. I realised how to take advantage of everything I had in the game. How to use the summons to help me recover MP or distract bosses. Ultimately what would normally take me several hours of grinding and overpowering the boss was done with just taking full advantage to the magics, tech and Simmons I had.
