A Kansas City, Missouri police officer named Edward Williams says he was told to target "minority citizens" because they were "easier" to target. Dr. Rashad Richey and Sharon Reed discuss on Indisputable. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
Read more here: atlantablackstar.com/2023/03/...
"A Kansas City, Missouri police officer has filed a lawsuit after allegedly being told to target minority neighborhoods in order to make his ticket quota.
Edward Williams - who is white and a 21-year veteran of the Kansas City Police Department - said he and other officers were told to “target minority citizens” and “go to minority neighborhoods to write tickets because of the belief that it would be easier to write multiple citations for every stop.'"

Exactly, we need to reform our communities, create our own security forces, become extremely private, and business oriented, and the only way to do it is to create another community within the black community, stop socializing for at least a decade, and people better leave us the hell alone when we shut down, that's when you'll start seeing some changes socially in this country....

I was robbed in major city i called the cops they came i saw my robber clearly it was a white guy but cop said it was a black guy right i said no they kept insisting it has to be black guy. I told them review the camera near by they started giving me an attitude after few day they call me they said they have few people to come to identify police station and I said you got wrong people i felt bad for the people brought in to police station it seem like thry just randomly arrested minorities. When I was at the station I went straight to the supervisor filed complaint and those racist cops got dealt with.

There is also an ex Baltimore cop who said the same thing. He said the PD was so crooked he had to leave. Over-policing of Black people, and failing to respond to crime in Black neighborhoods -- Blacks in Chicago have been saying for ages that cops never show up when called. So actual criminals are never caught.

I doubt that anyone is surprised. This practice is done throughout various industries. I've worked at restaurants where we were deliberately told to push black people's orders back. Redlining is still in place through personal lines insurance (home & auto); my state uses ZIP codes, but it is still significantly higher where the population is not majority white, even if a person of color has a perfect driving record. When my husband and I were looking at houses, I kept pulling up tax and insurance records, along with demographic information, and I discovered a pattern. In predominantly black neighborhoods, they could not get regular homeowners insurance; they had to go through the state's high risk pool, which only covers the bank's interest. There is no coverage for the homeowners belongings or anything regarding putting them in a temporary residence if anything happened to the home. People who are forced to get this type of insurance are never told what the fine print of this type of policy actually covers. I got in trouble for explaining this to a customer that I had been assigned to. I live in the same town as the customer and could not live with myself if I had cheated her out of proper coverage. My boss said that "those kind of people" can't be trusted with more insurance because they'll make up bogus claims in order to get "free Air Jordans." I quit, but I had my customer sign a change of agent from my former boss to another agent that I know is not a POS. My former boss lost 62% of his book of business because I reached out to his clients of color via social media and let them know what his true feelings were. He thought that social media was stupid and didn't recognize its power. Lol!

BS! Insurance companies don't look at "black neighborhoods". They look at the zip code, check the crime rates, if those zip codes have a higher crime rate, insurance goes up, if those zip codes are in a predominantly black neighborhood, what does that tell you? I lived in a great house in a college area, my car insurance, based on my zip code, was the highest rate in the metropolitan area. I was surprised when I moved how much my insurance went down. And for your assumptions about restaurants? LoL. As someone who has worked in restaurants, I've been called to a table of black people who wanted to know why "that table got food before them since they were there first"? Usually the reason was "that table ordered fish and chips, takes 10 minutes, you ordered well done steaks, takes 25 minutes". Simple enough.

Those ticket quotas most likely mean innocent people are getting bogus tickets. For those that can they’re forced to take time off work and fight tickets for traffic infractions they never did. And what about the people that do commit traffic infractions? Not ticketing people who have broken headlights, expired tags, etc? Following the law is not a racist thing. This goes on in every city across the country. I was followed and events stopped and ticked in my car after I pulled over in front of my mother's house for a broken tail light which was taped over with red automatically tape. Even after explaining to the cops I was waiting for replacement parts, they threatened to take my car (note it was an Italian sports car) my brother happened to come to the door after I made enough noise. The neighbors came out also and I told the cops, you and what army are going to take my vehicle...I told them which 2 of you want to go first cause I know the 3rd one will get me after I told my brother we're going to war. Eventually the cops backed down even though there was a dozen of them. They were targeting black people to essentially steal our cars which they or their family and friends would eventually buy at auction thru the city parking authorities if not claimed after 30 days. Well after 🎟, towing and storage fees many people simply abandoned their vehicles because they couldn't afford to pay to get them released. However in my case I was determined not to lose my car especially after I heard one cop state that he wanted it. Same thing also happened to me on my motorcycle...

18, walking with two 17yo to a western union in KS at 1130pm to recieve money. 3 block walk. Down one alley and straight down main st. It was a Saturday night and people were out cruising. There wasn't anybody walking but us. Drivers and passengers waive and saying hello with country woo ha"s. We get to the Western Union and it was closed so we turned around and started walking back. Walking back down the alley, 5 minutes away from concluding our walk, a white girl comes jogging down the alley, smiling and enjoying her night she says "hi guys" and continues on to the same path that we are just got off of. This was kind of shocking to us because it's not normal for a white girl to come running towards three black men, then she was very friendly ass was everybody else we had met. I said is it me or is this just weird because this has got to be the friendliest white people place on earth. One of the brothers and the group started laughing and said I was thinking the same thing. No sooner did that come out of his mouth a squad car comes racing down the alley, spotlight shined in our direction as we moved over to the side and you heard get your hands in the air. No shit I turned to my left and look down the alley because he couldn't have been talkin to us. Then he got back on the speaker and said yeah you three hands in the. He had us turn our backs to him and walk backwards toward the car. Then he had us turn around and place our hands on the hood of the car. He had his gun drawn the whole time. He asked us where we going what we are doing got on the radio and the first of six additional cars showed up with lights and sirens. We told him that we were walking to Western Union, yes it's for our IDs and I asked him what was the problem. He said "you look suspicious". He collects our identification, runzos through the database, another cop for frisked us. Then they gave us back our IDs which I snatched mine out of his hand looking at him with extreme anger and disgust 😡. You said and I will never forget this, "I guess they do things different in Ohio🤣". My reply was "your damn right😡". I couldn't argue with him, I didn't know the Law back then or anyting about rights I just needed that was not right. There were nine cops on scene by the time they let us go. There was a bar on the corner where you walked into the alley. Everyone in the bar came out to see what was going on and was just standing there watching. I felt angry, scared, humiliated and embarrassed. Nobody's standing outside said anything for or against what was going on. When we walk past them they all looked sad and thankful. It went from the friendliest place we had ever been, to a nightmare I will never forget. I have no criminal record. I serve 20 years in the military and have seven and a half years Federal Law Enforcement, four years of that on a special tact team. I've had a gun pulled on me three times in my life and two of them were by cops. KSC what's the third and last time. I was 18 years. Tell me how that makes sense? This isn't a new problem there. All i shared happened in 1990 and it doesn't look like it has changed much or improved at all over the years. I guess there's one plus two being a really big man in his 50's, no one tries to confront you, not even the cops. It doesn't matter, to this day I don't trust cops at all. High Point, North Carolina, while still active duty, I got pulled over just before entering the ramp for highway. It was raining, I wasn't speeding, my crime was out-of-state tags. I was driving slow because of the hard rain and when the cop came up to my window he asked me that I know why he was stopping me I said no and he told me I was speeding, which I told him I was not and I know I was not. He then decided to expand the search had me step out of the car and I had to wait there for a half hour for them to bring a drug dog to run around car 🤨. I was in uniform. He saw my military ID which I had to present because I had the out-of-state tags. We get random urinalysis often, at least two times a year. One time it was four times in one year. You can tell I was career because of my age and rank but I still had to stand outside in the cold rain so damn dog could run around my car. Do you let me go with a warning again told him I wasn't speeding. He said that they have to give a reason for the stop and it wouldn't count as points and I didn't have to go to court 😳 like there was a plus to I'm letting me off on something I didn't do😐. I told him that wasn't the point. I got in the car and drove off. I didn't file a complaint that time because I already knew that it doesn't matter. How are you going to have a cop investigate themselves? There's a definite reason why people don't like cops. Bad cops make everyone look bad and good cops don't hold bad cops accountable in a system that rarely holds cops even when the evidence is stacked against them for violating the law and police policy.

This is very painful and makes me believe that too many police agencies, today, are actually trying to hire officers that are a modern version of the pre-Civil War slave catcher; terrorize and inflict pain and Blacks and Minorities. When I was a cop, I never worked with any officer that acted like the alleged actions of many at the KCPD (I served as a state, city, and twice, federal officer). I believe the DOJ should, along with the state of Missouri, tackle this issue from a new and creative angle. The legal definition of domestic terrorism includes acts that are dangerous to human life that violate the criminal laws of the US or of any state (declaring/instructing, from a high ranking officer, that one and others should approach a car with a mindset ready to kill everyone in the car could be a conspiracy to commit murder and/or commit felony assault); it could be determined that KCPD had/has every intention of intimidating Black communities by over policing their communities to satisfy a ticket quota (intimidating and coercion of a civilian population is part of the domestic terrorism definition); to influence the policy of the government by coercion and intimidation (KCPD is a governmental agency working within the city government; it is alleged that the former police chief threatened to demote officers who didn't make their ticket quota to the night shift; that sounds like coercion and intimidation to influence the policy within KCPD, which is a governmental agency). Let's see if the DOJ and/or Missouri are concerned about protecting good cops and the American citizen.

The American prison industrial complex has the citizens believe ... "taking into account NOTHING else: the fewer warm bodies behind bars, the higher the rate of crime outside. Thus the conclusion comes: incarcerate EVERYONE you can!!" But, in fact, higher incarceration rates lead to increased recidivism, AND greater profit-taking by investors of private prisons. The closed loop of American crime and punishment.

This video makes me feel better like there's hope. Not only is there racism but a police type state and lots of abuse of power, brutality, misconduct and serious corruption. This must be reformed and lots more. How come Some popular black people do not admit it like Tim Scott? It is true. The reporting and investigative reporting on all of this must never end.

28 plus years in law enforcement myself (police officer) and I can easily conclude that 99% of police chiefs are nothing more than politicians with political goals. So we already know that police officers care nothing about the community, right? What makes you think that the supervision who writes the very racist policies they enforce, all of a sudden do...... make it make sense Black People. People treat you the way they feel about you. If you're being treated by someone like they hate you, it's because they hate you. Racism is like a virus that adapts and mutates to survive. To destroy a virus, you must KILL it.
