The chief that refused to pursue charges for destruction of evidence should be charged as a co conspirator.

Officers having the ability to delete body cam footage is in itself a total outrage. Policing in our country is a disgrace.

long comment - i already commented about the story, but i'm still waiting for my meds to kick in, so i wanted to share a review of the reporting in this segment. i really enjoyed it. it reminds me of when chris hansen did that investigative report on identity theft, and when stone phillips interviewed jeffrey dahmer. you didn't stutter a lot or come across as aggressive when you were confronting people - that's a skill that's hard to earn. you stood and talked like a news reporter, but it came across as more natural than rote. a couple of my favorite parts were A. that footage of him stalking around on his driveway like snidely whiplash, and B. whenever you were like, "and then he went to This Town," and the camera moved to reveal you were standing directly in front of the This Town police station. but i actually think the best part was that police chief you caught getting food. he's carrying a brown bag lunch like a fourth-grader. "i wrote you a note about it." you meet him at the station, and he stiffly hands you a note. "i wrote you a note about it." that was a scream. the animation of the report getting highlighted was an absolute classic - i hope that never goes away. this was excellent, classic news reporting. i was delighted by it despite being infuriated with the information therein. i was actually a little disappointed when it was over. i hope to see a follow-up on this when that guy gets prosecuted, police departments start communicating with each other nationally, and that tiny pizza to big pizza thing from back to the future 2 is invented.

100% why police departments should not investigate themselves. When a bad cop or even something a bad cop does on their own time gets caught doing something illegal that cop's history should be documented in a nationwide data base like your driver's license history is.

A police officer from the domestic violence unit concealed my evidence by not submitting my evidence to the prosecutors office. I called a few months ago and I was told that the officer no longer works there So instead of punishing the officer, they allow the police officer to move to different departments

Accountability at every step (is what’s needed). The departments that looked the other way, knowingly, I might add… I am so disappointed as a Michigan resident.
