I noticed the NS vault is significantly higher than other provinces. Most are 2'6.

The push and pull station is more difficult than I expected. If you can somehow simulate this station at home or the gym than I'd highly recommend it. Not having the practice in this area had cost me not just time and money but the opportunity for employment as well... at least until I re apply and redo the written exam. If you have zero physical training, do not kid yourself and do not waste your time or money... you NEED to train. Cardio and upper body strength is key. Out of the 12 of us who attempted this course during my testing, only 2 passed and those 2 were men who were evidently, physically ready. Also, I seriously recommend that you start training the day you apply on Career Beacon, because after I found out I passed my exam, I was to challenge this physical within 2 weeks, needless to say is not enough time to prepare. You must take advantage of the 6 week program available on the Criminal Justice website: novascotia.ca/just/Corrections/recruitment/docs/copat_training_plan.pdf I would not disagree on the importance of physical strength when working in this type of environment, however it would be encouraging to see all current employees complete this new mandatory evaluation, just to be fair.

PARE and COPAT are different tests. COPAT is the standard in Alberta for Correction.
