These cards are so beautiful! I haven't tried the lovely layers yet but will be ordering some. I really enjoyed story time. I don't have kids of my own but was a nanny for the same family for 14 yrs so can somewhat relate. The Daddys butt made me laugh out loud!

Amazing cards Kelly! Yes, the second born is completely different than the first born. I have two boys, so it's not even just a girl thing. My younger son had SUCH a mouth on him. He's lucky to be alive. Not from me, but from his older brother. It's funny to talk about now that he's a wonderful adult, but at the time it was incredible challenge.

Kelly, just found you recently. Brilliant work and love to listen to your thoughts as you work. I’m a mom of four, lost my second one to SIDS. All kids are atleast four years apart. Found out later I have PCOS and may have never had kids, so extremely blessed. But it was like having four individual kids. Hugs to figuring it all out. Just keep thinking “this too shall pass!” Thank you so much just loving all this!

Gorgeous cards, Kelly, as always! Praying you and your daughter both feel better soon. I did snicker at the swim lesson story. I have two girls. I wouldn't say my younger one was feral but she was definitely strong willed which is a good thing. You just have to get it pointed in the right direction.

These cards are Beyond Gorgeous!!!!!! Absolutely showstoppers 🎉🎉🎉My first child was the sassy one and a girl I really think girls are just more trying than boys. Just you wait til the hormones start. Probably will be the toughest years of your life. However when they finally grow up and become moms themselves they suddenly understand you and think you were a great mother after all - and if your lucky bless you with grandkids 🎉🙏🏼💕🥰

Lol, my ex used to get so embarrassed at the pool when our boys would point out a different part of his anatomy if his towel slipped😂😂😂 Good luck through the terrible twos, enjoy the naps while they last. I think it's more a girl thing but I remember my youngest throwing a tantram in the supermarket and I got nearly to the door before he got up crying for Mummy. He's now 27 and checks on his Mum every week. His big brother 30 only remembers me when cooking or gardening😂😂 Good luck with completeing 20 cards, we have mothers day in March but a great idea, oh for a Kelly original, priceless. Eleanor x

I was the first-born,, and I was apparently the perfect child - speaking in clear, complete sentences and fully potty-trained before I was a year old and reading when I was three. My baby brother (now 68 years old, by the way) was not perfect. My mom used to say that if my brother had been born first, he would have been an only child. 😀

I was the exact same way… Potty trained before 1. Reading at least by 3. I was reading at “12th. Grade level or above” in 2nd. Grade. That’s according to standardized tests, and no, I don’t believe it! Not sure how my baby brother would’ve been, because he passed away late term….. But I suspect maybe birth order would’ve won out? Not sure. My Dad was a real perfectionist.. My Mom has some of those tendencies as well…… My Mom talks about how, when I was a small child, I would make one tiny mistake with my homework and I would crumple my paper up and throw it away instead of erasing… Good grief. I’m really trying to get rid of my own perfectionism! I’ve learned how unhealthy it is.

I wasn’t speaking in clear and complete sentences, however! I was deaf as a baby and toddler, so I was in speech therapy all of preschool through 3rd. Grade.

My daughter was first & she was so easy. My son was my 2nd and he was/is very feral! No they are 49 & 44, they haven’t changed one bit😂! I love your coloring of these beautiful flowers and bugs!

Yep! My first child was so easy. The second one really put me through it LOL. Funny how that happens! And yep the second one was especially defiant and there were times I simply had to redirect his attention to prevent a Mexican stand off LOL LOVE your voice and one day I'll get brave enough to color die cuts LOL. Hey, Kelly, my kids (now 15 and 11) were the WORST sleepers! With child no. 1 I also did the sitting with her until she was asleep thing - and it got really desperate (2 hours each time were not rare). I ended up consulting a sleep expert and she told me that kids may actually (unconsciously) keep themselves awake as they know that mom will leave as soon as they are asleep. From what they told me, your idea with explaining things to her might actually be just the ticket: I was told to not make a big thing of it and, for example, show her a big pile of irioning I needed to finish (instead of sitting with her) and then not talk TO her but keep up a running comentary while doing my work in her hearing (i.e. so she knew someone was there while not really engaging). That worked AMAZINGLY with my daughter and she started going to sleep on her own literally within days. (To be fair, my son was having none of having NONE of that and to this day is not super hot with sleeping 🙄 - can‘t win them all…) But it might be worth a shot, voice-over work might be just the ticket 😂 ! Kelly, I’ve seen this in blended families sometimes.. When a stepdad has his own biological child, sometimes they’re treated differently. It can be extremely subtle, but can cause a child to be a bit of a princess, so to speak. It will be okay, as long as you make sure to give her consequences every time that she acts out of line, and then you stick with them! It has to be both of you as a united front! Good luck, and I will pray for your sweet little girl! I’m sure she’s just going through a bit of a stage, just keep up with the positive discipline. Redirect her when you can, and give discipline and consistency and consequences every time it’s necessary!🤗🫶🏻 It Will Get Better, Kelly!

Your cards, as always, are fabulous. I had my daughter first, and she was EXACTLY like yours. She was a holy terror (screaming in her room for hours at bedtime, sassing us, just being difficult) until about 4, then we stopped letting her watch the Mickey channel and she started acting better. Not saying there is a correlation, but who knows. My son came 2 years later and he is so calm. He had one screaming fit at about age 2 (I walked around him and told him to let me know when he was done) and he never did it again. They are 21 and 19 now, she is a senior in college and he is training to be a diesel mechanic. BTW: his 3-year-old birthday theme was fire truck and 4-year-old birthday theme was construction. Good luck, kids are so much fun and so infuriating at the same time. And they grow up way too fast!

Love the cards. A lot of work, especially with a two year old in the house. Not to worry, my youngest daughter had three boys then came the girl. Oh my, she rules those boys and now at four is trying her hardest to rule the household. A lot of screaming on her part. Hang in there. This too shall pass. 💕

Lovely cards. I realise we all have our struggles so in no way am I trying to diminish yours BUT from the time my son was about 2 months old he had, like, ONE NAP ONE TIME. That night hubby walked in the door, took one look at him and me, and said “whatever you did today do it again”. He was NOT a napper. AND he woke up early. I accepted a 6am wake up time but before that he had to stay in his own bed. Re the sass: I realise you need to discipline Caitlin but OMG her sass gives me hope for her and for her future safety. I hope she never loses that spark, it’ll help her when she’s older.

If my mom could have sent me back, she would have. I was a holy terror apparently. I am 54 and still sassy! My younger brothers were so much easier according to my mom. Love the colors and cards. 💜💜💜 The lotus flower looks so easy to put together, may have to get that one now. LOL

Oh Girl I so feel your pain with the second child syndrome. My daughter was my second child too after a perfect little boy...lol She was fearless too and still is and now she is 30 years old!!! Your daughter will totally test you her entire childhood years but trust me she will become your bestie when she grows up!!!! Love the video and look forward to your classes in Nashville!!!!

In my 3 sons, in my mother's 5 kids: My middle one had to wear a loud bell on a ribbon necklace at church because otherwise he would quietly escape -- leave the bldg., run across the street, run the length of a long green tunnel thingey. He did so many insane things. His daycare providers were sisters from India w Ph.D's in Child Dev., they told me, "You know, the ones who are the most intelligent are the hardest to raise?" Yes, genius. Not sassy, EXPLORATORY, ESCAPIST. I was the middle child. Both brothers, before + after me, died in childhood. So, I was a rather neurotically perfect child until puberty. Then, "feral" would be a kind way to describe me. My sister, middle of 3 girls? Well. Are criminals who get credit because they are criminals who are churchy, describable as "feral"? "Sassy"? I dunno. She is a piece of work. She lied and gained ascendency w my parents -- stealing 4/5ths of their estate. This earth is interesting. I do know: When we die, we do not take a dime of wealth w us. However, we do take our hearts & our character. So, there is that.

My second was and still is my ratbag lol. I told my kids that sometimes one of the hardest things is to tell your children off when secretly you think it is hilarious or awesome. I mean there is harder things don’t get me wrong but being the mum of 3 boys I get it.

My sisters third was the sassy one to the point where she was disrespectful. I told my sister yes she's only three but have a conversation with her and ask her what kind of day she wants to have today. "Do you want to have fun and play or do you want to spend a lot of time in your room in timeout?" It was a miraculous turn around. You can show all the ramifications of inappropriate behavior, but sometimes it takes giving them the choice. My niece just graduated from college (with an absurdly high GPA), she's still sassy but in a fun way now. We wouldn't change her for the world.

These are beautiful! I laughed out loud when you told the part about the baby punching Eric in the nose. Girls are def harder than boys. Wait….shes only going to get sassier! Is she a Scorpio? Good luck, if so! It’s always their way or the highway, and they will ignore all instructions to the contrary. I won’t hire them anymore, due to constant issues with each one causing trouble within the team or flat out ignoring HR or safety regulations to do what they want. Hope you’re able to teach her at this young age she needs to compromise to live within a group… and take care of yourself, to boost your strength. 😳
