With copper prices on the rise to the highest level. They've been in years. You want to get as much copper as you can. stripping Air conditioners is easy way to get copper. Lazy people will always hate on the man who is willing to hustle. My only regret is not getting into scrapping sooner.

That's exactly right. People have to s*** on how I make money. Because they don't want to believe that it's that easy that I can make so much money for working. Basically, part time and make more in a week than they make in a physical month

Don't be jealous.. My prices are pretty good. I was just talking with a guy who rented a u haul truck and filled it with all of his copper. Between the price difference and the amount he had. It was twelve thousand dollars extra for a two day run.. He found the buyer in Jersey. That bought everything he had and paid cash

A/C units ,boilers with the big removable copper coils are my bread and butter. Today Saturday I did with my partner I did all the light iron that was around the units and as we pulling in a guy was leaving and offered us 2 older window units he knows we take them all apart he didn't have Time so the 2 units the 4 fin (aluminum copper condenser) the 2 sealed units the 2 electric motors the little bit of #2 copper and yes I take the ends off the cut offs plus little bit of none prepared wire we got 140 bucks. The light iron of the units I didn't do we save it for next week. Recycle ♻️ ♻️ ♻️ or Die 😂 keep on scrapping copper pipe #1 and bare bright keep on going up!!! We do a few HVAC companies that have fenced in areas they throw everything water heaters boilers the big outside a/c units duct work old tools wire ect. And don't cut open electric motors or sealed units 🤔 not worth it like they said but wire stripping with the machine and cutting off all soldering ends on copper pipe is worth it right now it's in the high 3 4 dollars range

Mike i think the difference is you have way more volume then alot of us. If i get 6 airconditors i scrap them all. But if you get 60 a week you don't need to.
@Adventureswithmike1

I'll be honest with you when I first started doing scrap metal. I never even tore the air conditioners apart. I was just dump them at the scrapyard.. Probably for ten years I dumped off thousand of them.

I just made my first scrap run yesterday and I got $60 for it (the majority came from a bunch of sheet copper planters (which I never knew existed until now). I did it for earth week 2024. $3.25 for #1 copper in the rubber city. Slightly less for #2 how much are CRT TVs worth in scrap in your area? I know they have more value in scrap than sentiment.
@Adventureswithmike1
@Adventureswithmike1 2 ай бұрын
Nobody locally buys them. They have no value. That's why we charge to take them.. But we found a whole sale buyer That only wants them by the 53 ft trailer load..

@@Adventureswithmike1 my local electronics recycler has a fee for CRT's as well. I bet the only part that has the most value is the yoke.

I'm guessing here, but the most value should be with the radiators. The copper will be good $$$ too.

If I watched a video to the end, I weigh everything up and give you a breakdown on the pricing, but you are correct.. There's not a lot of copper in these smaller air conditioners

The big air conditioners I get from the hVac companies They have to drain them. Or I won't take Em now the little ones. Most of the time don't have anything in them at all. But my buddy comes and puts the gages on them. It's like a pinch peace that goes on the line and sucks out what he can.. But there's always a little bit that's left.. Which is just the way it is
