Some yard will have alloy analyzer to test the composition of metals to insure its pure if your selling ingots or granules.
@corsagafa
@corsagafa 3 жыл бұрын
In my area they mostly dont use the analyser and I have never seen it used on granules.Also there is a big problem with metal theft here in England so there is a good chance that they will not buy ingots,Thankyou for your comment.

handheld XRF analyzer is what most scrap yards have to give them a way more breakdown of the materials contained in your recycled material

Freeze your wire/plugs to as cold as you can preferably 0 degrees or below. Then shred it right away should allow for the insulation to break apart easier for the separation

Hi everything is super. It could nice if you could show how the end of the aluminum box separator works. Right end were the copper and plastic separate Thanks Johnny

Hi Johnny,the right hand side (end) of the aluminium box is just the same as the rest of it except there is a partition to force any plastic or copper under the water.there are more videos on my channel showing this section in more detail,thanks for your comment.

@@johnnyjakobsen9794 Hello Johnny,my number 1 rule is dont pay for scrap copper,I transport scrap cars for other people so I get the chance to remove scrap from the cars after they have finished taking the parts they need.Iam not saying its free because it takes time to scrap the motors,plugs,and fuse boxes that the copper came from in this video.You have to decide how much copper you want to process and how much time you have to get your "start product".If you want to process a lot of copper then you could make more money by buying copper wire that is ready to put straight into a granulator.If you want to go big then watch this video from Project Shop F1 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a8icaJBjp5jJdmw.html ,Good luck!

Im an electrician in the UK and as you can imagine I get at least 1ton a year of insulated cable. Ive been thinking about investing in a granulator to get more value out of my scrap. A few people have told me that scrap yards will not accept granules untill you are a reputable cable recycling company. Where do you sell your granules and have you ever had any issues? Thanks on advance. Keep up the good work
@corsagafa

Hi,yes I have had some problems,the main reason being some yards are not setup to handle granules because they are too small and can easily "get lost".Also some yards will give you less money than you would get for number 1 bright because they dont know what is in your granules, maybe there could be some tinned wire or even some brass mixed in.Its just a case of building up a good relationship with your yard.The last time I weighed some in I used CF Boothe in Rotherham,hope this helps and thanks for your comment.

Well when you take cable in they cant see through pvc either & that can have tin wire inside. You could have some pvc with no wire inside, easy with stripping machine. Not that i would do that just saying.

*Why do you call them 'burnt plugs'? I don't see anything that's burnt.*
@corsagafa
@corsagafa 2 жыл бұрын
Hello,mostly I granulate car wiring looms and I cut the plugs off before processing the wire,I ended up with a lot of plugs so I burnt them,they were washed in a cement mixer to clean them.If you go back to 0.18 seconds on the video I show a clip of them.I dont burn any scrap these days and I have a video showing how I process them now kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fdSCpJOa1Mmyd5s.html thanks for watching.
