The plaintiff rented a condo from the defendant, but she didn’t end up going because of COVID-19 restrictions. When she made new accommodations with him, he told her he sold the condo and he wasn’t giving back her deposit, so she’s suing for the cost of her vacation. The defendant argues he let her reschedule three times and she had plenty of times to visit. He says it’s not his fault she kept changing her mind.

Working in education, I can attest that teachers can be worse than students in that respect. There is always a couple or group who have side conversations during staff meetings, as well as the occasional person who actually answers phone calls. These are usually the people who put up the biggest stink about their students' similar behavior, too!

This happened a lot during the vid shut down on the Gulf Coast - people cancelling their reservations for vacation rentals and then getting mad because they couldn't get a refund - they'd get on local fb groups and bash the condo owner with the usual stuff "refused to refund me, it's not my fault, I will never book with them again ... yada yada." All the while they were refunded by Virbo. So what'd they do? They all fricking MOVED here because their states remained shut down after ours opened back up - just what we needed, entitled whiners taking over the place.

See this is something that she needed to argue with the judge it was not a deposit, but no I don't know where she put her tongue that she couldn't talk and say that, but it's okay she wait until the end once the judge had made her decision and then she expressed what she was really thinking is that stupid or what and she is a teacher this is someone that is teaching your kids people people!

I get the judge's ruling but I am going to differ here. The guy made a killing on the condo which he is proud to say. He should refund half of the woman's money ok, not all of it, for good karma. Sometimes you have to have a little compassion regardless!!!

I see what you’re saying, but I seriously doubt the defendant actually said he made a killing. Those intros are Kurt’s dramatic interpretation of the case. He said he got a nice offer and was ready to sell.

@@juliecranford534 even if he did make a huge profit, it's his. The plaintiff wasn't involved in the purchase or the upkeep. Too many entitled people who want a piece of someone's success.

VERY DISAPPOINTED - too late now in this old case - if it's COVID RELATED, plaintiff was entitled to half. Covid is neither plaintiff's nor defendant's fault so if it's related to that, she should have received half back.

Not at all. That's her problem, not his. It sucked for everybody, but the reality is Florida didn't have those restrictions. It's not his fault our state did. She should've went in November when she had the chance to.
