@@goldfieldgary It used to be like that at one time in America. I remember hearing stories of relatives, friends of relatives, my friend's relatives, telling stories of being too drunk to drive and the cops would come and rather than allowing that person to get behind the wheel of a car and possibly hurt themselves or others, gave them a ride home. This was back in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s though. I think when DUIs became the big "moneymaker" for many of the municipalities that they are, that all stopped and they would rather stop someone and tag them for DUI. There are even "awards" given to officers that write so many DUIs and Speeding Tickets within a month and or year.

I wind the window down to see a Traffic Officer resplendent in his high-vis raincoat. "Are you OK Miss?" "Aye, I came over all tired, and rather than risk crashing my car I pulled off for 40 winks before I continue my journey." "Oh, that was a good idea. I saw your car and the windows were all misted up, I'm sure you understand the concern. There's a coffee stop a mile or so up ahead, if that would help." Right if you're taking a nap and are legally parked you won't get on trouble in any Western European country afaik. Now sleeping a whole night in a car is different. It is illegal in Portugal, Danemark or the Netherlands while legal in Sweden, Norway or Germany. In France, Italy and Switzerland you need a permit to spend a night in a car/camper although cops do usually not bother people, esp. if it's just for one night. I was once awoken when I was sleeping in the back seat of my car on a motorway service area. Carmel CA: In jurisdiction of Carmel PD, sheriff and TWO CHP roll up on me while I was legally parked, sitting in my backseat typing on my computer, with a fresh cup of coffee. "How much have you had to drink today? What would you say if I told you I have a witness that puts you here all night?" I said I had receipts proving I hadn't. Wouldn't look at them. Etc. It's always the same, it's like they all read the same Cliff Notes. Later that day, my cat was thrown into traffic and died.

She tried earlier in the encounter but the police officers didn't let her speak. But she, in all fairness, did only try once. She really looked like she just wanted to sleep some more. This tactic should have gotten him fired for coercion. It was a power move to control her. This whole episode boils down to retaliation for her not giving ID and knowing her rights. @@hoosierhyperwatch5884 What logic is that? As far as I can tell, the kid was a foreign aggressor (meaning there was no reason in the course of his daily life for him to be there at the time) from a broken family who wanted to feel lke he was in control of a situation that really had nothing to do with him. I am interested in the "logic" of a judge who would not admit as evidence the video in which Kyle admitted he wish he had an AR so he could start shooting into people prior to him committing homicide. The boy's feigned wimpering and stammering in court as he glanced toward the jury is enough for me to conclude the kid is a fraud and so is the judge. America can only descend further into conflict on account of this kind of self-aggrandizing. I say the Constitution is flawed with too much emphasis put on an interpretation of the 2nd Amendment as an excuse for the weaponization of citizens against one another (as put forth by psychopaths among us). At times I wonder if the Founders were too narcissistic to realize the contradictions between their written rationalizations and the consequences of their own actions. Unfortunately, not enough is said in conversation about the implications of the Preamble of the Constitution and the underrepresented 9th Amendment. I do have to say, your sarcasm is both *unreasonable and counterproductive, Hoosier.
