Hello and Happy Memorial Day my Friends, welcome to my Southern Kitchen!
I am a big fan of Chick-fil-A, also Sweet Tea and Lemonade; so today I am making the classic Chick-fil-A drink, Sunjoy - Sweet Tea and Lemonade mixed together! Crisp, refreshing and full of fresh flavors; 2 of my favorites in 1 combined drink! Everyone will love and enjoy this, the perfect beverage on a hot Summer day also great to serve for Memorial Day BBQ and upcoming Summer BBQs!
8 cups cold water, divided
4 regular-size or 2 family-size black tea bags
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon pure lemon extract
8 cups lemonade
Mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
In a medium saucepan over high heat, add in 4 cups of cold water and bring to a boil. Remove the pot from the heat and add in the baking soda and the tea bags and let it steep for 4 minutes. Remove the tea bags. Add in the sugar while the tea is still warm and stir until dissolved. Pour the tea into a big pitcher and add in remaining 4 cups of water, lemon extract, and lemonade. Stir until well blended. Pour the sunjoy into mason jars, cups or glasses filled with ice, garnish with lemon slice and mint leaves (if desired) serve and enjoy!
Cover and store it in the refrigerator.
