I am a Corgi/Husky collector. Let me try to set a couple of things straight about this model and Husky in general. Woolworth's contracted Corgi in 1964 to build an exclusive line of Matchbox size cars. These are Husky. Husky was always a part of Corgi. Corgi was always very good at getting licensing for popular vehicles. They had the license for James Bond and built many different models for the various movies. Corgi was already working on a DB6 model when they got the licensing so instead of doing a major re-tool they went with the existing casting and hoped nobody would either notice or care. In 1987 Corgi went bankrupt and dissolved. Mattel bought most of the old Corgi company including the brand name and the casting dies. One of the dies was the Aston Martin DB6. They have been using variants of this casting ever since. This is why the bumper fit so well. The Hotwheels is a variation of the original Husky casting. Really love your work and your videos.

That is some really good info! It seemed like the entire base would have fit fairly easy so it all makes sense. Wish I had your knowledge, I skimmed Google but didn't find anything for the most part. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

@@WheelsNThangs Despite being the third largest toy car manufacturer in the 1970's after Mattel and Lesney, nobody knows that much about the Mettoy (Corgi) company. It has taken me a long time to figure out what I do know. Corgi is still the wild west when it comes to information. For example, my guess would be that every 1970's Hot Wheel has been documented as to variations and body colors. Last year we found a 1970's Corgi Junior in an undocumented color. This just does no happen with Matchbox or Hot Wheels.

Hey, cool video. Is there an easy way to re-attach the roof panel on the DB5? I bought a replica one on eBay, thinking it'd just clip in to the original toy easily, but it's two metal pegs, attached to an inflexible metal roof, that I'm trying to to fit into 2 metal holes in an inflexible metal frame on the car and unless either on of those things' have got a bit of 'give' I don't know how I'm going to attach it.

Its a Husky Aston Martin DB6. If you know your James Bond movies, they never had a DB6 in the JB movie. Its a fairly rare model. Corgi bought out Husky to make the Junior range. The transition models are interesting. To close the roof need to jam the seat down first. The quick release should hold it in place. The roof will then close ok Nice renovatinon

Hey! Husky always was Corgi. They switched the branding to "Corgi Juniors" in an attempt to up the perceived quality... Most interestingly, a lot of Husky casts went on to be rebranded Corgi and altered over the years. Corgi kept a varient of this cast going for ages, there was two versions, the other being non-bond. Anyway, as I'm sure you know Mattel then went on to buy corgi's assets when they got financial problems and we got a fair few corgis branded as Hotwheels. Now I'm not suggesting that the hotwheels DB is the same as the Husky, but considering Mattel could well have the designs for the husky/corgi versions it's more then possible the hotwheels DB was based on / started development from the corgi/husky design and thus, is almost identical in size
