Corn Harvest with a NEW Fendt Ideal Combine

4 жыл бұрынThis video is out in a corn field near Pesotum Illinois as Kuhns Equipment demonstrates a NEW Fendt Ideal 8 combine with a 12 row Drago corn head. Also in the video is a Massey Ferguson 8730 tractor pulling an EZ Trail 1020 grain cart and a Massey 8660 tractor pulling a Brent 1080 grain cart.

Enjoyed, great video. It looks to me that all makes of smart combines are moving more or less in the same direction, and are good machines. Looks like someone is going to have to come up with something big to get ahead of the others.Keep up the good work Mike.

It looked like a beautiful day out there mike ! That was some nice Combine footage . It sure doesn’t take long to fill the grain tank in the Combine with that 12 row head . It was nice seeing some Massey ‘s out there pulling some grain carts . That was some great drone coverage , very clear !

Did you see Fendt/MF had a new Ideal 10T at Agritechnica (?). It did NOT have a steering wheel, but rather a lefthand joystick for steering! THAT'S A HUGE BEAST!

I've seen videos of these Fendts and the thing that stands out is that monster unloading auger even the widest heads aren't going to be a problem for that , surprised it doesn't fold ! In the open scene I thought those augers were going to cross then it's a bad deal !!! Congrats on 50000 , speaks for itself !!!! Am I crazy or did you do a video about trapping beaver ? Brian Brown has a creek crossing backed up by a beaver clan !! Thanks for the video !!

Zero01k no it was not. Those are second place in North America. These new Fendt... i seen allot of feedback on them. These new models will outperform anything available on the market today. Don’t ask me why but allot of farms are looking for these...

Actually as the technology goes up and the efficiency of the technology increases we're likely in "peak combine" right now. Can you imagine a multi-role flatbed truck that folds up to a grain trailer but can move 2 robotic harvesters from field to field?

The changes that Agco has been making is interesting with all the New Fendt Dealers they have added for 2019 I think it was mainly a shot across the Bow to Claas that their days with the Challenger Dealers is nearing its end. And I also see this as a move towards replacing the Challenger Brand since it has nothing to do with Cat outside of the color and tracks and maybe it will Deflate the whole Cat Ego that comes from some dealers

Cat dealers have always preferred selling a Claas combine over a AGCO brand combine, they will continue to sell Claas over AGCO. Few Cat dealers out West have already dropped AGCO completely over the phasing out Challenger deal. As much as I would love to see more independent full line Claas dealers, Cat dealers (at least my local one), are not going to drop Claas. My local Cat dealer sells everything Claas offers in the North American market except tractors, which I assume they will add soon since some are floating around on my area, they are still going on with AGCO with Fendt/Massey/Gleaner. Going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.

They have branded it a Massey here in Australia as apparently we don’t know what a Fendt is. Should’ve left it as no one likes Massey’s either.

I like the Fendt from what I’ve seen. I’ve heard negative comments about Drago heads. Hard to beat the JD heads both old and new.

Time n Motion: very poor in general with all these machines as they get bigger - Loop the loop at the headland - 3-point turn and you're away again. Machines operating costs are too high to be spending time turning around EMPTY at the headlands.... Been finding out courtesy of yours and other videos that the Corn Harvest occurs so late in the year and after snow./ Hard frost - you'd wonder why it took soooh long to get heated cabs and surprised that there's no suspension system for the combines as they traverse Frozen (rough or rutted ) fields ..... Here in the UK we never really though about combining on frozen or muddy fields - except where Rice was grown. Aye it's a great education thanks for the Series!

He’s moving along pretty well with that fendt, what’s the yield of that corn? Gives an idea on what a monster it is!

Ground moisture management is a problem around Pesotum so I doubt it was record breaking but you could hear the combine slow down once it tucked in. Much of the area is about 5 feet of dirt, 15 feet of clay then a "pan" below which is basically mixed polishing compound. The reason the overpass lakes are so large in that area is you're limited to about 15 feet or what you build will sink and extrude that muck somewhere else like playdoh. Must have been out on the East side of town or we'd have seen overpasses for I57.

I don’t understand Agco’s strategy of competing Challenger/Fendt/MF/Gleaner against each other as well as CaseIH/JD/et al.

Well they are dropping to just Fendt and Gleaner in the North American market, and I'd say Gleaner will probably be on the chopping block next, given how they can't go any further with that design in terms of size or capacity.

If they can write off Massey combines, the ones built in Hesston, then they can easily write off Gleaner without a second thought. If rumors are to be believed, there won't even be high horsepower Massey tractors in the future, they will limit Massey to mid to low horsepower ranges, if you want big you'll have to buy a Fendt.

@@michaelhelmick8225 I don't see Gleaner going away. There is such a following and hopefully they learned from dumping the orange color. From what I've heard, farming only a few miles from Hesston, that Gleaner will stay and the rest are gone to make way for the Ideal.

I'm sure it's a great combine and you said that you liked the color scheme but it would't be my preferrence. Looks dull and drab to me. Kinda ugly.
