Yes, I’ll have winter updates. I actually have quite a bit of sweet corn left in that field too. We had enough up by the house the stuff in the field went to waste. I guess we’ll see if the deer eat it.

Planting/ growing or doing any type of habitat work and then seeing the results is way more rewarding than killing deer off private land food plots. If I want a good hunting experience I’ll go on public land where I got thousands of acres to roam and chase just as big of deer.

Nice looking plots! Nutri-crave corn is by far the best corn to plant and most preferred food by the deer! Planted Nutri-crave the past 2 yrs. Good luck hunting this fall.

I haven’t seen a substantial difference yet but it’s still early. I was out last weekend and I saw some does munching on the field corn a little bit all they had to do is walk about 50 yards the Nutri crave but I didn’t see them do it in daylight.

Crops look good, considering how little rain. Not sure what your day job is, but I think you'd make a good agronomist! You do more trials that anybody we deal with up here! Thanks for the crop updates

Nice video like always on your plots.Good luck hunting. How did all your Brassicas plots come out.Did u plant any Kale in June this year?

Yes my brassicas look amazing this year. I have some plots that are knee to waist high. Probably should’ve waited 2 to 3 weeks to plant some of my plots. But I’d rather have them too big then too little.

How many acres do you put out into plots??? Seems like a lot? Your deer are going to be happy this winter!!! Plots look great man!

We have roughly 3-3.5 acres of corn and only 1.5 acres of beans on all The plots combined. Definitely a good amount. But not nearly as much as what some people have to plant due to high deer numbers. 3 acres of corn will be more than enough for the winter I’ll have stuff left over in the spring I already know it. I also probably have slightly over an acre brassica spread out between multiple plots.

great video, Did you send the corn off for nutrient testing? We also tried the nutri crave in same field with dekab this year ( 100 ft buffer)with same inputs. we were very pleased with results on yield as the NC outperformed the dekab gmo in yield , But we were disappointed with the protein testing done at A&L labs, the Dekab was 7.5% protein with 77.2 TDN and the Nutri Crave was only 7.78% protein with 73.2% Tdn. Summary , NC yield was great for a non gmo, but protein was disappointing and was no better than the GMO.

I did not have it tested. So far it seems like the coons definitely prefer it in the couple areas I have it side by side. The deer have been eating some of both corn NutriCrave and field corn. In the next month or 2 I’ll have a way better idea how much they actually hit it. But so far it hasn’t had the attraction I was hoping for. Definitely a higher fat/ oil based corn or higher moisture. You can tell when you snap a ear in half and try to shell it out Yeah really good yield for me too. Some of the biggest ears I’ve ever grown. I’ll have a winter update video sometime in January.

Great results on your corn. You have enuf to combine and still have plenty for the deer. Actually I'm surprised you can successfully grow mature pumpkins. Every time I try to grow them, the deer eat the blooms and vines and take bites out of just about every pumpkin which ruins them.
@wisconsinwhitetail9744
@wisconsinwhitetail9744 9 ай бұрын
You must have higher deer numbers or less ag around you. Because we didn’t have a single pumpkin messed with in the whole plot. We grow them and sell them at the house for a little bit of profit. Occasionally I’ve seen deer munch on a couple but it’s rare.

@@wisconsinwhitetail9744 Yes our deer numbers are crazy here in west Kentucky. I think they calculate somewhere between 30 to 60 deer per square mile. Sure makes driving on the roads risky at dusk/dark.

@wisconsinwhitetail9744
@wisconsinwhitetail9744 4 ай бұрын
Simazine will work on any corn even non gmo corn like sweet corn. Its recommended 2-4 qrts per acre. Figure out how much water it takes your sprayer to cover an acre. If you don’t know just mix it similar to glyphosate.glyphosate is 2 qrts per acre. You should be fine with 3-5 oz per gallon.
