Hi Buddy, Haven't seen your videos for a while, nice haircut by the way :) I'll tried sclerals and hard contacts but it's not for me, always cleaning and always afraid to loose them. Almost a year now since the CXL surgery and I'm getting the laser eye surgery in this summer what the doctor told me it's more efficient then contacts or Sclerals, it's called Trans Prk. So basically the right eye only Trans PRK and the left CXL + Trans PRK it's expensive but you don't need any contacts anymore maybe just to wear glasses. Did you actually talked with your Doctor about Laser Eye surgery? Keep up the good work mate

I will be sure to ask my Doctor when I see him in August! That is cool, and if that works, that would be very awesome. I will look into that for sure. Hopefully the laser eye surgery goes well for you too! Being able to see is a wonderful thing :)

I'm using my RGPs now, and my night vision is the worst... Everything I see is double, even during day... And they're so uncomfortable... They dry out quick... They hurt all the time... They ain't clear... my doctor has told me to try out sclerals but they're so expensive... I'll be very happy to try them out if they're worth it... But I'm scared what if sclerals won't correct any of this... Will sclerals correct all these problems with RGPs?

Hey woody! I got procedure done. I admit was nervous but you have helped me through this with informative vids. How long did it take for you to get the sclera lens ? It's been a month for me.

Hey man, I went through all of your videos. Thank you for all the info. I just wanted to ask for some advice, I feel like my doctor is undermining how big of a surgery this is and honestly, I'm not super comfortable with him. Should I see other doctors? Oh my insurance also covers this.

It's said that this is one of the simplest eye surgerys performed. It's half done by the doctors assistant. The most important part the doc does is scrapping the cornea tip they need great dexterity with hands. You should ask how many procedures the doc has under his belt. They have a threshold of hands on training they must preform before being certified in crosslinking. But if you really don't feel comfortable id say shop around. I did both eyes and second eye was performed by diffrent doc I was his first patient he did it on, it went well from the look of things. God Bless

Question: I understand cross linking is only to halt the K disease and not do any vision correction. I had an evaluation done with a reputable Dr here in the Houston area. Of course I asked about vision correction. According to this Dr, vision correction along with cross linking is not approved here in the US and if I was interested in both that he would refer me to a Dr in Switzerland. He said Switzerland is way more advanced in eye care than we are here. Have you’ve heard anything about this? Thanks for your response if you read this.

Have you tried normal rgp contact lens? How can you compare it to the scleral? I still see ghosts with the lens and cant see well at night
@bionic_band_director
@bionic_band_director 3 жыл бұрын
I had a normal contact lens back in the day, but it doesn’t have the strength to correct the shape of my cornea to eliminate the massive blurred vision, and the ghosting and triple vision. The scleral eliminates all of that.

Are the scleral lenses comfortable to wear? Or do you have problems with wearing and comfort with their application?
@bionic_band_director
@bionic_band_director 5 жыл бұрын
The Scleral Lenses are very comfortable, and 95% of the day I forget that they are in my eye. Occasionally if I am outside on a windy day, I may need to use a re-wetting drop, but that is the exception, not the norm.

Thank you so much for the reply. Your videos were the only reason why I went for the C3r procedure two months ago in-spite of losing hope when the doctor messed up my lasik procedure. I’m looking forward to seeing like a normal person again after 4 years. Just hope that the lenses work out to be comfortable for me just like they did for you. Thank you so much again. Keep inspiring:)

@@amitojsingh5150 I hope so as well! Make sure that the scleral lenses "fit" well during the testing. If it is fit well to your cornea, it will be comfortable to wear. Good luck, and I hope all goes well!

So you went without contacts for 3 months???? I have my right eye done on the first, and hopefully can have the second one done right after. I have to move back on campus in January! Do you think I’ll be able to?
@bionic_band_director
@bionic_band_director 3 жыл бұрын
Yep, my right eye was a blur for three months, it wasn’t much fun. However, my left eye was able to see clearly, so that helped. I do think doing one eye, waiting, and then doing the second is the way to go! Your brain also adjusts to having the blurry eye, or I felt it did. I did get a few headaches, but I got through it. If you are keeping one eye “normal” you should be fine theoretically.

Mine were $1600 - which included the fitting fee and followups. I know they range in cost from place to place, and from doctor to doctor, so shop around!

My insurance won’t cover my procedure because it’s listed as cosmetic did you go through the same problem
@bionic_band_director
@bionic_band_director 5 жыл бұрын
I did, but my doctors office filed all the necessary paperwork to prove that I needed it, or that I would be facing a cornea transplant. A cornea transplant would be much more expensive than the cross linking. I also contacted my insurance directly as well. I also had one doctor tell me they don't mess with insurance, and the doctor I actually did use assured me that he would work to get insurance to cover everything.

@@rhtthr5715 Don't be afraid to ask for a manager to the manager. Many cases, the person that has turned down your procedure has no medical training, and in some cases, hardly anything more than a high school degree. You can ask for the qualifications of the person that turned your procedure down, that makes them happy.. Also, read your coverage information to see if there are any exclusions on your health coverage that would prevent the procedure.

Hi do I have to get the cross linking surgery before getting the sclera lenses?
@bionic_band_director
@bionic_band_director 3 жыл бұрын
The cross linking is mostly for keratoconus. If you have that, I’d imagine your doctor would want you to get that degeneration to stop by using the cross linking. I would imagine that if you just have a very bad astigmatism, that a scleral could help, but you’d have to talk to your doc.
