As a member of Jose Valenzuela's team, Jose Benavidez Sr. weighs in on the highly anticipated co-main event bout between Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz and Jose "Rayo" Valenzuela.
Benavidez Sr. feels that this bout could very well steal the show that night, guaranteeing that it'll end with a knockout.
Benavidez Sr. also informs us on his son David Benavidez next and potential moves going forward. David Benavidez is currently set to make his Light Heavyweight debut vs. Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the vacant Interim WBC Title.
A win vs Gvozdyk will place David in the mandatory position for the WBC championship held by Artur Beterbiev. Beterbiez is currently scheduled to face Dmitry Bivol in a mega undisputed bout for all the championship belts in the division.
Interestingly enough, Benavidez Sr. also likes the idea of his son David fighting Zurdo Ramirez at some type of catchweight.
Benavidez Sr. also states that his eldest son, Jose Benavidez Jr. had agreed to fight Vergil Ortiz but for some unknown reason the fight fell through.
