Lovely walk. The story of the witch was spooky.

I'll need a few days in Boscastle for walks in several directions. I love the look of the village,and that stream is just what I always need. Thanks again!

For Andrew: Tree-hugging pups of the world unite - we've nothing to lose but our bark! That said, I once hugged a Sequoia so big around, a dozen ppl holding hands couldn't have enclosed it entirely. Some of the largest trees I've ever seen reside along the Northern Pacific Coast in the Petrified Forest, Yosemite, & other Redwood stands in CA, remnants of true giants, akin to Tolkein's Ents. I was visiting a friend in Northern California one afternoon when a huge Redwood came crashing to the ground rt across the driveway from her home, very near to where she'd just parked her new car. It literally shook the house when it fell. We ran out to see what had happened & found it lying there. It was massive & had felled several pines & other neighboring trees on it's way down. Once we'd calmed a bit, we went climbing on it to find it full of some kind of wriggling larvae (ew) which had eaten it alive from the inside, causing it's demise.

I know it well, I was up the valley last month, it looks better now with the spring growth. I learned several new things from your trip thanks.

We did this walk after a lot of recent rain, yes, Andrew, the steep path you walked up, was extremely muddy, we lost the dog in woods on the return leg and had to walk through the ‘Welly” to finish the walk ! We prefer your route....

I love your videos really makes me homesick so after living ten years in Tenerife we are coming home and have picked around Bodmin area not too near the Brits abroad brigade ( budgie smugglers in sock's and sandals and cheap beer and fags ) also my wife and I miss all the greenery plus the history of our country, PS. keep up the great work it's making me want to come back even quicker.

i recall prince william was involved in evac missions during the flooding ,a terrible disaster in such a pretty little village

We have a steam train @Great Central Railway called Boscastle its been in bits 10yrs finally about to be run again. I visited your Boscastle in 2016 for a day unfortunately bad weather

My husband and I have just come back from Cornwall. We have done this walk many times it’s beautiful in the spring , you were lucky the trail was dry it can get very muddy and slippery. The minster church is well worth the hike ,so pretty.

Oh this charming, picturesque village with bluebells was so soothing to watch. It is a lovely spring season in Pennsylvania this year and bluebell plants were given to us by my nephew last year and they popped up in my daughter’s garden. To see them growing wild in abundance is a real treat!! Thank you for sharing!!🌿

What a beautiful walk!...all the sights and sounds of Spring, and I bet the scents from the earth were amazing ~ waking up from a long Winter. I have an idea about the scissors on the church ~ there was a mentioned that Joan Wytte's ancestors were weavers, so it's a possibility a medieval cloth making (weaving) guild funded/sponsored the building of the church, hence their emblem being recorded in the stonework for posterity. Lovely uplifting video ~ thank you two so much.

Lovely video. Will give you a follow. Boscastle is where my heart lies. The most tranquil, beautiful place on earth. I have stayed at Driftwood cottage (the small blue door) and wondered the same thing how on earth anyone could get furniture jn there!

Very good video Sarah and Andrew - Thank you. Right after watching, I went to the video of the floods in 2004 (hard to believe it was that long ago!) just to see the comparison of now and then. Believe it or not It's even more shocking!! I think for those around the world who might not have seen or might not know even - Its worth watching. Just to see how nature has restored her magnificent beauty and what a mammoth task those people had getting their homes and business back to normal again.

My one and only visit to Boscastle was not long after the flood. Lovely scenery.

What a wonderful hike I really liked the magic forest and the mysterious church. From Penally Point you have a nice view over the harbor entrance and the harbor, that is one of my favorite pictures. stay healthy. best regards Günter

Bit late watching this one this week! But what a treat! I liked the hugging trees bit..I am lucky enough to have a woodland garden with many trees in it including a huge pine tree which is about 150 years old we worked out. Just a peaceful tranquil place to be & although it wouldn't win any awards from gardening experts, we love it for all the wildlife around here, although we are missing the bluebells so it was nice to see them in your vid. Isn't it exciting when you find an isolated old church in the middle of nowhere & then find it's open too! Loved the history around it and the scissors & Jane's little headstone. Lovely walk you two. Gosh! Andrew has got rid of that furry stuff that seemed to be growing all over his face. Looks 20 years younger! Pretty little church. Just plain and simple. It’s a very beautiful walk and the school. Wonderful. I can usually recognize an old school long after it’s ceased to be in use. They have a distinctive shape and at least around my way, the windows were unusually high off the floor. For a good reason.

We live just down the road, and normally walk along the coastpath from Boscastle to Tintagel. But I'm definitely going to try this out, as it looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely walk! Spring at its best! I used to have slow worms in my garden ,my cat had a habit of catching them! But I always removed them from the cat and put them somewhere safe, slow worms are a protected species and they are great in the garden eating pests ☺️

Kildetekst I loved this. And it is remarkable how little changes there are after 100 years. And thank you for the touching story about the poor Joan Wytte. I have visited Boscastle, but we just had a brief visit to the Whichcraft museum (which we found so eerie that we didn't stay for long) and had a lovely cream tea and the soup of the day for lunch at the Harbour Light Tea Garden before walking further on to Tintagel. It is sadly impossible to take a rest day in all the lovely villages along the path, so we are missing a lot of interesting things. So I love that you are showing all these amazing details :-) Thank you. Torunn :)
